I have to say, the young lady in cosmetics who helped me with my new skin care line was very personable and knowledgeable. I have always had rashes from my skin care and she showed me Clarins. I had never heard of it before. I am amazed at how much better my skin is doing. She also matched my skin tone perfectly. I noticed her make up was minimal as well and I appreciate the fact that she uses the products and her skin is so clear she doesn't need foundation. It speaks volumes. I found another employee to be rude as she was speaking down and with arrogance to her staff in front of customers in the same department. I have to say, that was very unprofessional and off putting, and from the way she was talking I could tell she was management. It would have been five stars had the manager had a more positive manner about her. I will be using Clarins from now on. After years of skin problems, I can only say thank you! I will be back and looking for that employee. I only hope the manager there has an attitude check. She put a stain on my experience. read more

I was in the store on Dec 31st. The clerk in the shoe dept was friendly and helpful. She helped me with numerous shoes and never rushed me. Then I went to lingerie and asked a question about the style of a camisole and what women wear under thin straps. The clerk said whatever women want and walked off. Then I proceeded to the dept selling nylons. There were two clerks talking to each other. I asked what the letters meant for sizing. The clerk told me she doesn't have the sizes memorized and I needed to look it up myself. There are so few choices for quality clothes and shoes in this town. Its too bad the staffing doesn't have the skills or training to make the shopping experience pleasant. read more

My sister left this store feeling dehumanized, judged, and dejected. When my sister went to this Dillards looking for a coat for our mother for Christmas, an employee pushed my sister to let her help. After doing so, she told my sister that she should look in a different section because the coats she was looking at were "top of the line". After dragging her over to the other section she proceeded to ask is your mom "round like you". Not only is my sister a perfectly healthy weight, she is also recovering from an eating disorder. And REGARDLESS of how my sister looks, she should be treated with respect. Additionally, I would like to know why an employee would actively discourage someone from shopping larger ticket items based on appearances - since there was zero discussion of budget. I went to this Dillard's to return shoes I ordered online. My bad! I'm a 70-something lady with worn out feet. I really need to try on first. The sales people at Dillard's are so helpful, not to mention "shoe smart". Easy to return, easy to shop because they actually help you try on shoes! Purchased a pair of Dansko's. The hurt my feet, so I returned them. The person helping me didn't listen to me. I told her what I wanted, and I even showed her a picture on my phone. I had told her I wanted a gift card instead of a refund on my account. She went ahead and put a credit on my account. She stated that they had the shoe I wanted and went to get it. She didn't give me time to say you don't, because I was just in there 2 days earlier and they didn't have it. She brought the shoe she thought it was. I said, NO that isn't it. I was just order it on my phone, when she decided she could order it. She ordered the wrong color. She did not listen to me, and she was trying to train someone. This was a terrible experience. In search of a crossbody purse. Although this store has a wide variety of designers and styles, the price tags are usually high. I splurged on a $150 leather purse, loved it. The interior lining ripped within 2 months. Dillards has the worst customer service and return policy. They need to take a page out of Nordstroms book. I was told it was after 30 days and there was nothing they would do. I contacted the manufacturer and sent pics and they sent me 2 new purses to choose from, full replacement. read more

I enjoy looking around the cosmetics department , I do not like being approached the second I look at something , I enjoy browsing and the moment I feel I can't look without being bothered by the sales representatives I'm out , I understand they work off commission , and its great for them to be available if you need someone but don't be eyeballing me and pushing me into buying something I don't even want or need because now we wasted both our time and I have to take it back , usually I say no Thankyou , I guess I felt nice this particular day and was coerced into buying makeup I didn't want , and will not be browsing the cosmetics department and I'm sure you don't want browsers anyway , sometimes it's nice to be able to look around without being pressured or bothered . On a recent trip to Dillard's, I "myself as a young Asian female-just to give a little perspective" dressed casually due to the extreme heat, was browsing high-end handbags and accessories (those vintage Louis Vuitton bags have been discontinued for years and all sales are final. Each piece would possibly cost between $1200-$2500). It was my first time seeing those handbags displayed there, totally surprised and wondered how long has the store been carrying them? There were a lot of sale associates standing around, seemed like no one was interested to help but kept staring me down like a potential criminal..haha..sad:(!While I snapped a photo to look at it later and think whether I should buy it or not. A customer assistant quickly approached me. She wasted no time rudely informing me with her loud and obnoxious voice that it was against the store policy to take pictures of expensive merchandise and i was not allowed to do so. I was very taken back, extremely confused and felt humiliated! With my head spinning, I left the store. While in the parking lot, I called the store manager and explained my experience. He then assured me I could take any pictures I wanted, sincerely apologized about the incident and promised to prevent such a thing from happening again to any customers. Evidently, I was being racially profiled by this mean woman. I still couldn't believe i was being treated differently because of my race. And just because of the way I was dressed that day, did not mean i didn't have money. Receiving this negative treatment in public was one of the most degrading and racially prejudiced things I've ever experienced in my life and wouldn't wish this on anyone. Very unfortunate and sad to see how people were being so rude and judgmental and not realizing it doesn't just hurt the victims, it harms the rest of society too. No one deserves to be treated as such. Even though I like to shop there, I haven't visited the store since. Note: I saw people taking pictures there without having any problems but me. Very rude manger. Basically chased me down for taking shoes out the shoe department since no one was available to check me out. If this is a policy please inform customers. I have tried many times to buy a mens long sleeve white dress shirt, size 16/32. Should be simple! NO! It is like being in Walmart or Home Depot looking for help. Shirt department is a night mare, with sizes all over in the wrong sections. St George Dillards should be better as they are the only name brand department store in St George, Utah. I went on line and bought 2 white shirts from Dillards on line in Las Vegas, and paid the shipping. Now I've been to Dillard's before, in fact growing up there was a Dillard's near me that was well sized, had great bargain racks, and good clothes. This one not so much. Its steeped in old lady fashions and...something I can't quite put my finger on for juniors (again I want to blame Mormons but frankly even they must know this stuff is ugly.) Its just...horrendous. The clothing is butt ugly and overpriced. The sales racks are a disaster. There are shoe and makeup sections, but both are so tiny and crammed in there they aren't even worth looking at. read more

Worst Dillard's. I came in looking to waste a bunch of my boyfriends money as we were on vacation and he irritated me that day. We were thinking I would get some new makeup, jewelry, a couple outfits. Normally I love Dillard's, but the staff at this establishment were soooo unprofessional. Granted the store is not huge, after all, this is a town of less than 90,000 people and you don't exactly see the locals flocking to it. Therefore, I am very happy that Dillards maintains a store here. Never had a problem with service, Selection of clothing does lean toward the dowdy side, yet, I always find something in style and good quality. I'm glad we have this store in our city since it is the only store that carries certain items but it is sure much different then Dillards I have been to in other areas. The Postives This is the only store in our city with traditional makeup counters. The only store that carries certain brands higher end shoes (designer and European shoes) and purses in stock. They carry Ladies hats(my daughter needed a old time hat for a school project, this was the only place that had them!), higher end gloves, socks, and other accessories not found anywhere else in town. They are the only store in our city that has full bra measuring and fitting services. They have plenty of staff willing to help, I know they get commission , but usually when I;m running into this store, there is something very specific Im looking for and I appreciate the help. They package items with great care. Negatives The Ladies department styles about 70% are for the seniors, 10% for active wear and 20% trendy juniors fashion. There is little for the stylish younger 20-40 year old moms or the for business clothes for younger women. While I appreciate the bra fitting service, this store carries no bras for young girls. When my daughter needed her first bra, I found Dillards was the only store in St george that does and measuring or fitting. While the salesperson was SO nice to my daughter, there was nothing in stock. This is a huge St George pet peeve of mine, bra sizes that fit younger girls that are in stores like Kohls, Target, are all padded. You have to go to Vegas or SLC to find bras in small sizes to try on that are not padded (or occasionally get lucky at TJ maxx). The weekend hours are bad, closing 5 pm on Sunday. While I wish the store was just bigger, it is ok for what it does offer. The New years Day sale is Packed. It is the one day out of the year the store is wall to wall people and the mall parking lot is full. read more

This store has been extremely unprofessional & unpleasant, especially the salesman NICK in men's Dept!!!! DO NOT BUY a suit from this store! We bought 2 men's suits and the salesman talked my son into shorting the sleeves, they were just barely too long but NICK miss-measured the sleeves extremely wrong and they came out way too short! Dillard's refuses to fix it so we had to have a seamstress fix Dillard's blaring error! Then the other suit we took back to show them that the fabric on that suit in the crotch was frayed, they said have it professionally pressed and we did. The cleaners told us the fraying in the fabric is a manufactures defect! When we took it back to NICK he SHOULD have know that and given our money back right then & there!!!! If he did know it was a manufactures defect then he is extremely dishonest and tried to blame us for the manufactures defect!! I asked the customer service guy to ask if Dillard's would give us a credit or store credit, the manager said no! He didn't even bother to come out of his office! The customer service guy DID NOT apologize for all the errors and RUDE behavior of the employees at this store! Not only will I NEVER set foot in a Dillard's again but I will tell this extremely bad experience to anyone who wants to hear it!! Friends, family, ppl I chat with in the grocery store line!!! With all the women standing behind all the counters, you would think that they would have better customer service! They were too busy chit chatting with each other to help me. I was looking for several items for a wedding... dresses for young ladies and little girls and some shoes to go with. And I wanted to try on some heels in my size...I couldn't get anyone to help me so I took my business to another store in the mall and got everything I needed... and a whole lot cheaper! The employees were extremely rude to us. There were 3 middle aged women who made my boyfriend feel very uncomfortable for trying on underwear to make sure it fit him. They literally said: "you're trying on underwear? .... that's weird". We both work in customer service and felt like that was very unprofessional. I have had very positive experiences with this store. First with the men's clothing department where the sales people worked hard to help me find items of excellent quality at very good prices. Most recently, Kellie in the shoe department worked hard to find my wife a shoe that she could wear comfortably on her right foot while her left foot is in a brace to mend her broken heel. read more
