This store was packed with everything. Tons of deals too. The womens and housewares is on one side of the mall and the mens section is on the other. The big and tall section was bursting at the seams there were so many clothes and the associate that was working the section was very nice and accommodating. My main complaint is that the prices are rather high compared to other retail shops and you really have to watch their sales and clearance racks to really make the trip worthwhile. We bought a mattress a couple years ago, it still in warranty! We have noticed big impressions where we have Layed and a huge hump in the middle! We are also smaller framed people. The guy came out did his little thing to see if it was enough! But never layed in it to see how far down it goes once you lay in it! So after 2 1/2 months of waiting they couldn't even call us they send me a letter saying it was enough for a replacement! Would never use Dillards for any furniture again!! So make sure your sales man knowledgable about the mattress and Warranty! Had my Bassett mattress for 15 years never any of these problems just thought it was time to get a new one! I purchased a lovely dress. On the front of the page on website, it said permanently reduced. (nothing about final sale, see photo). I purchased the dress and saw that the confirmation said Final Sale, but then said $25 return .well which is it? I received the dress and it was beautiful but not a good fit. I went to return based on the confirmation I received but the computer said "Not Returnable" I called corporate and they told me sorry they are strict with returns, even though I sent them a photo saying there was a $25 return free. They then said they would have to get the issues fixed with their computer division, so they agreed this was a real confusion. I actually helped them by letting them know they needed to fix two issues. They still refused my return. The dress is in perfect condition. I found this whole interaction very one sided. It is absolutely clear they don't understand the value of a customer. Customer Service is definitely an issue with Dillards. They should have taken into consideration their mistakes and offered me a return. After all this I noticed the dress was extremely long. The description reads approx 62" but in reality it is 67" Dillards has an excuse which is one sided. The customer service department does not understand that they need to give in when there are errors. They will not admit to any fault. For this reason they lose my business and no doubt others. I wouldn't order anything from Dillards. We purchased my daughter's prom dress from here, she lost weight and when we went to exchange, the size smaller in store was damaged. They told me they would use a gift card and order one for me online to be mailed to my home. The "new" dress I received has multiple damaged areas and we do not have time to go dress shopping for a 3rd time before prom. The best they would do is give a 20% discount ($69) back to a gift card since that was my form of payment even though I still have the original receipt. Disgraceful. I ordered Ralph Lauren blue and green pajamas from Dillards before Christmas. Instead I was sent pink fuzzy Donna Karan pajamas. I sent back using USPS with tracking number. Despite having proof via the tracking number Dillards is refusing to give me credit. I paid $79 plus tax plus appx $20 for shipping both ways. I had three phone calls to customer service to no avail except to make me upset over the complete lack of customer service. Dillards in partnership with Wells Fargo used deceptive trade practices in their pitch to me to open a new credit card account. (It's no secret WF has done this before when opening credit card accounts). On my last trip to Dillards (Fairview TX) I was pitched to open a credit card account with the promise of 10% discount on my purchase ($60) PLUS a 10% coupon with my first statement. In my experience with other retail shops, the discount is always given at the point of sale, not on the first statement. It was unusual but I trusted the sales associate and agreed. Fast forward to my first statement., no $60 credit and after numerous calls, no satisfaction either. I will absolutely report this to the OCC as deceptive trade practices. I paid my balance in full and am permanently done with Dillards. Shame on your company. read more

Dillards is a pretty good store for women's shoes and event dresses and for options at different price points. That being said, I don't like shopping there. I know it's a department store, but the departments all blend into each other and are overcrowded and often disorganized. When I do try to shop for clothing or other items, I just get frustrated and give up. It would be nice if they could come into the 21st century in terms of shopping experience!!!! read more

I love Dillard's and really wish that they would expand to the Northeast. Stopped in here a couple of times during my most recent visit and was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of the selections available in each department. We were able to score some amazing, end of the season at Dillard's. Some of the exact same items did not ring up at the same price at the other Dillard's in NLR, so keep that in mind if you're searching for a deal. I ordered a pair of boots online that were on sale and not returnable for a trip I was taking. Double checked the delivery date twice on the app before electing to pay $30 for expedited delivery. The next day I received an email stating that my boots will be delivered on Monday (too late for my trip), not Friday which was the next business day and the date promised on the app. When I contacted customer service to see if they would at least rescind the expedited charge, they indicated that since I ordered after noon on Thursday, it didn't matter what the app said and they would not refund the expedited delivery. I am a very good customer. I have their credit card (never late on payments) and I shop there often. Guess who won't be shopping there again anytime soon? That's right, me. read more

My husband and I came in the evening of April 24, 2018 to look for a suit. We were greeted by a couple of sales people who told us if we needed any help they would be available. However, James was a different story altogether! He was practically by the dressing rooms and noticed we were struggling due to the excessive heat in the store. He introduced himself, asked what we needed and boy did he save us. He went out of his way to assist us. He helped my husband with numerous fits, sizes, and colors of jackets and slacks. He was truly on a mission to make sure we left happy. He went all over the store to find the perfect tie for him as well . We have shopped at numerous stores and in different countries. James has shown us the best customer service out of anyone. He is a true asset to Dillards and was an absolute blessing to work with. He really turned a stressful situation into something so pleasurable. James we could never thank you enough. read more

My parents bought me a pair of Sperry Duck boots for $99.99 and a pair of high top red converse for $55 for Christmas. Unfortunately, they were too big. Took them to the shoe department and the lady there said "sorry I won't have these" and shoved the boxes at me I said ok...I'll return them and order online. She returned it to a gift card and said I had paid with a gift card. I said ok...my dad heard this and came over to inform her that no he had used the credit card he always uses. She said "it said gift card." (he never uses gift cards) then she goes, "Oh you know what it's been more than 30 days that's why." Did she say that before processing the return? Did she say that before taking the shoes? I would have return them to another location, that may have been more helpful or had the correct size. I leave stuck with a gift card. The shoes are not in my size on Dillard's.com and could be at another location, but how would I know?! I mean she sure didn't offer to order it for me or see if somewhere else had them. Also, they are now $20 more than when purchased. Shouldn't there be a more considerate return policy for gift purchases?! My parents bought early so now "Oh well." Then my husband goes back to talk to her because she blew us off and this lovely employee's name is Kathy by the way. He walks up and says "Hey I have something else on that receipt could I have it back please?" She said, "Oh we don't have it. Well, I guess I could check." He said, "I was just here so what happened to it?" She said, "It's probably in the trash." He said, "I'm going to need to talk to a manager." She finally called one down. The manager checks the trash and low and behold it's there everyone. Who throws away return slips?! Don't you need that for balancing your returns? Anyway, the managers name was Beth and my husband explains the situation and she offers to override it for us. She was helpful and great and that's the only reason they get a second star. People like Kathy really shouldn't work with customers. Her attitude belongs at the DMV. read more

Placed an online order for a number of items at dillards.com, as I have done many times over the years. Everything was received in good condition except one shirt - a Tommy Bahama polo. I've owned a number of these shirts in the past, but this one was cut smaller than typical and I was hoping to exchange it for the next larger size. I spent nearly 1.5 hours waiting for my phone call to customer service to be answered, only to be told it was a "non-returnable item". I understood that when purchasing it, but didn't see anything on the website or my receipt about exchanges. I offered to pay shipping both ways, but was told "no". I politely discussed the matter with a supervisor, but was again told "no". Very frustrating for me, and an example of poor customer service. I could have been made happy, and Dillards would have been in exactly the same financial place, but they said "no". No wonder retail is in such dire straights. Shopped online with Dillard's and purchased two items at a price of $65.40 each. Received the order today and noticed online the price had been reduced to $38.15. I called Dillard's customer service and spoke with Rosa and Stephanie. I was advised it's Dillard's policy to NEVER price adjust an order. My only option is to return the items and repurchase them. In my opinion that only adds unnecessary work for the returns department, the credit department and the shipping department for the new order. Since I don't live in the south I don't have the option of shopping at Dillard's in person. Needless to say after this experience I won't be shopping with them online either. I have received inconsistent customer service over the years. Sometimes outstanding and sometimes poor. For example, last week an associate in the store called another associate a F** and continuously used other profanity loudly in full view of customers in the shoe department. I emailed the customer service department on Wednesday. I received an email confirmation that they got my feedback and would respond in 24-48 hours. My family told me I wouldn't get a response based on other customer service experiences in this store, but I didn't want to believe a large company would let such egregious behavior go unaddressed. It is Monday, and I have received no response. Poorly managed associates and a dropped ball at the corporate customer service level is enough to make me take my shopping dollars somewhere else. read more

Planning a wedding can be stressful, so when I found a couple items online that I could not find locally, I was so happy. Items arrived and some fit and some did not. As you can imagine, returning the items that did not fit was not at the top of my to-do list. Fast forward to after the wedding and all that needs to be done afterwards, I called and asked to see if I could return the item. It took several phone calls before I was able to get a store credit approved. I forgot to mail it back straightaway with all of the "thank-you" cards needed to be sent and then the holidays. When I finally got around to it, I was expecting a store credit to arrive; not the product back! Any other retailer that I had to make returns to understood this and returned the item or gave us a store credit. When I called customer service, they told me they "we're sorry" but they could not do anything because "its been too long, besides we do not even sell this product anymore, so you're stuck with it." I scheduled an appointment with Alicia at Dillard's Salon on a recommendation from a friend. I am a female with a VERY square face and my hair was shoulder length prior to my appointment. I wanted something fresh and new, a little more modern than the straight hairstyle with no body that I had. When I got to the salon, I was told Alicia was double-booked and I would be seen by another stylist. I had taken a picture in and asked the stylist if my hair would look okay in the new style or if a different style would suit my face shape and hair type better. The stylist told me the style would be fine for me. Long story short...not only did the stylist NOT know how to cut my hair to make it look like the picture, a chunk of hair at the side of my face was chopped off bluntly at jaw level with no blending at all and very little else was done to shape my hair. The rest of my hair was left so thick and bottom-heavy that when the stylist styled my hair, I looked like a 1970s Charlie Angel. I knew I was in trouble when other guests and employees in the salon were staring at me but not commenting about how good my hair looked. I went home and then immediately called and requested someone fix the hairstyle and only THEN saw Alicia. In order to fix the cut, my hair had to be chopped off at the level of my jaw where the first stylist lobbed off a one-inch chunk and left the rest of it about two inches longer all the way around my head, i.e. an asymmetrical cut that was not properly done. I was also bombarded with questions from Alicia about what was going on in my life, what type of trouble I was having, etc. The fact that I wanted a new, fresh haircut because I was bored with the old one is hardly indicative of a major emotional crisis and I do not appreciate the implication simply so the original stylist would not look bad. Alicia continued to tell me that I got the haircut I asked for. I am now walking around with a blunt, harsh bob at jaw level which is the LAST thing a woman with a square face needs to be sporting. I will NEVER return to Dillard's Salon and will actively recommend no one else go to the salon as well. read more
