I've owned a dog once in my life previously. I was much younger and had far less responsibilities, and we adopted post-pup years. When me and my girlfriend (when my girlfriend) decided we should rescue, I figured how tough could it be? We're adults. We're responsible. No problem. Well, don't underestimate the beautiful chaos a puppy can bring into a household. Fortunately, I've been lucky to know Sean for years now and saw firsthand how he raised his puppy into a calm, diligent and all around extremely well-trained dog. In no time, Sean set up time to come over and observe not just the puppy, but also how we were together and separate with the puppy. Within a week he created a shortlist of things to focus on - it was like he had created a puppy home school curriculum for us. In the weeks to follow, we did sessions both in and out of the house focusing not just on basic commands but all around good behavior. Since then, we haven't looked back. Our dog is now 3 and frequents Diligent Dog Training to reinforce behavioral trainings, socialize with other dogs and occasionally learn new tricks. I'd argue she's more well behaved than his own dog...joking...but in all seriousness, this is more than we ever could have asked for. And to top it off, when we're traveling for work or taking a vacation, we board and train her with Sean and get the best of both worlds. A home away from home and continued training. What I've learned more than anything from owning a dog, if you don't consistently reinforce and reward good behaviors, you can lose everything you've worked towards in the blink of an eye. Having Sean, Joe and Diligent Dog Training has been a godsend and I couldn't recommend it more. Do the right thing for you and your dog and give them a call today. You won't regret it. read more
