My advice would be to never willingly hire this company. To sum up, they were hired to deliver a king sized be to us, showed up with one delivery person, told us they couldn't get the bed out of the van, and then tried to grift us for additional charges in order for them to finish the delivery. In retrospect, if they didn't have the staff to deliver our bed, they could have called us and rescheduled for a time when they did have staff. Or handled the situation any other way. But they didn't. Because they suck.
We ordered a king size bed from a company in California that ships their beds via Greyhound Bus with Diligent Deliver hired to deliver to our door. Diligent arrived on Monday, the delivery guy came to our door and said he had our delivery, I said ok, and then he just stood there. I said, well, the porch then? He said he was only one guy and that he would not be able to move the package out of the van and onto the porch himself. We asked the delivery person if he could call his manager, which he did, we wanted to understand why our bed was sent to us with no way to get it out of the van. His manager proceeded to tell us, in a very yell-y fashion, that if we wanted another delivery person sent to help get the packages out of the van, it would be hours, and he'd have to charge us. And if we refused the "delivery", he'd charge us for that too. The manager insisted that them sitting across the street from our home, with the bed in their van, and no way to get it out on their own, constituted a delivery.
I spoke to a few people from Diligent Delivery that day, both in Denver, and at corporate headquarters in Texas. The Denver contact that called back was just as hostile as his scheduling manager, our conversation ended after he said, you have your bed (my husband with a bad back agreed to help get the bed from the van), so I don't understand your problem. So clearly a top down issue in the Denver office. Texas was more sympathetic, they said very clearly that it is not company policy for the client to help with the delivery for liability reasons. But in the end, I was told the Denver office had been spoken to, and that was about it, so a very lukewarm resolution at best. read more
