Beer flights. Dildo Light best imo

I would highly recommend this brewery. Worth the drive to Dildo. NL Food 4/5 very good quality. I ordered the seafood chowder. The accompanying piece of bread was tiny. But it was loaded with yummy seafood therefore the $15 seemed worth it. Others order 2 pc fish and chips and fish tacos. All raved about the quality. Beer 4/5 I really liked the Dildo light best. Ordered flight to determine the ones we liked flavour of most. Bought a few cans to take home Service 3/5 not exactly friendly but acceptable and just attentive enough to get a 3 Washroom cleanliness 5/5 Location and view. 5/5 Fun vibe. Helped it was a glorious day weather wise.

If you're visiting Dildo NL you won't be able to resist stopping at the Dildo Brewing Co. & Museum. Brightly painted in yellow and overlooking the blue waters of Dildo Arm you'll never miss this awesome brew pub. A great spot to stop and take pics, gift shop and taste test selection of specialty brews- all while taking in the picturesque scenery that Dildo has to offer. They have a large outdoor patio overlooking the water- or if you prefer indoor seating you can sit inside and admire the view through the large garage doors separating the indoor/outdoor spaces. To my surprise they even feature a real deal pizza oven! I snagged myself some merch on the way out- a Dildo Brewing Co. & Museum t-shirt to remember the day by. Another great place I would recommend anyone planning a trip to Newfoundland & Labrador to visit.

This was my first time to Newfoundland, on a business trip. Dildo brewery was recommended by locals, so had to check out the location for no other reason than the name (obviously). The POSITIVES: * location was premier on the water front * staff were nice and inviting * the food was cooked/ prepared well (see image) * the beer was cold, flavorful, and had great color * merchandize area * museum (didn't have time to visit) * our server, Emma R. The NEGATIVE: (reason for 4 out of 5 stars) ~The amount of time it took to receive our food. It was myself and a coworker (see receipt for items ordered and time of order). We ordered the standard meals and a couple beers. It took 45minutes to get, what I would call a basic order. We were hoping to have a fair amount of time to check out the area but unfortunately due to how long it took to get our meals , we had to rush back to St. John's airport. Maybe our expectation was unreasonable or naive to the culture of the "time management" in Dildo. Definitely operates more like "Island Time" than a typical pub/ bar & grill. I would definitely recommend Dildo Brewery for their beer, food, and hospitality. However, make sure you have an open time frame , no obligations that may effect your experience at DB&G.

Honestly delicious Turkey soup. Newfie poutine -- the best. Golden fish and chips. Good selection of beers all in a funky, charming space with spectacular views. You never know what you'll find around the next curve in the road. Thanks for having us.

We swung by in the early afternoon, just after the lunch crowd at most places would be easing off, but Bannerman was impressively going strong from when we arrived through to our departure! We were seated at one of their picnic-esque tables near the back of the room, taking in the high ceilings and the lovely work done to reuse this historic fire hall. I snagged a half pint of one of their light and refreshing lagers, while my wife partook in their caffeinated offerings. It's nice to be able to get both, and the warm, communal feeling of the space was a nice contrast to the cold and clinical vibe that can sometimes come with Third Wave places. Wanting to refuel after a dizzying hike on the North Head Trail, we ordered the mushroom flatbread, steamed buns, and pierogis. My wife's mushroom flatbread arrived first, with the not-pizza leaning heavily into savoury, earthy flavours with sauteed, locally harvested mushrooms, shaved truffles, and smoked gouda. While I fundamentally disagree with arugula being on pizzas and their brethren, its peppery bite helped cut through the otherwise rich flatbread. While I certainly shared my two apps, I was glad to have them mostly to myself! The food in general isn't inexpensive at Bannerman and $17 for two steamed buns was a bit of a pill to swallow, but the quality was thankfully there to back its price tag. Succulent, shredded pork was jam-packed into the pleasantly-chewy, folded buns, and topped with the contrasting tastes and textures of slices of white onion, crispy onions, and micro greens. The pierogi of the day had a lentil filling, and the savoury legumes lent themselves well to these deep-fried dumplings. The ultra-crispy exterior easily gave way to the doughy interior and the lentils within. Almost stealing the show was the onion confit sour cream, whose velvety smooth airiness had the perfect amount of caramelized onion flavour. Bannerman could/should sell this stuff on its own! Even after just one visit, it's easy to see how Bannerman's combination of craft beer,top-notch coffee, creative bites, and a beautiful space in an award-winning adaptive reuse has made for a place that's more than the sum of its parts, and has become a destination for locals and tourists alike.

Yet even in inclimate weather, the scenic outports, the rural landscape, the friendly residents, and good Irish-influenced music made us feel right at home. Port Rexton beer seemed widely available for purchase in stores (Salted Stout anyone?), so at my suggestion, Gayle and I came in here for Lunch. She knows that Brewpubs are a favorite of mine and I thanked her again for indulging me. Ours was a perfect part of the afternoon. We ordered our delicious beers at the counter, along with delicious grill cheese sandwiches (mine with prosciutto) from the adjacent "Oh My Cheeses" "food truck". We sat comfortably in their "living room" by the fire on this cool and cloudy day. And since we wanted to stay "just a little bit longer" we ordered another round! Service was friendly and welcoming, just like what we experienced throughout our Newfoundland trip. WiFi was good and among the available reading materials was a local "coffee table" book about a Toronto couple who left city life 25+ years ago to start a B&B. They're still here and the title is: Taking a Chance. We can see why they did.

I worked in the service industry for many years and I Know how important tips are and I , as a rule, tip well. I asked if I could possibly order 2 side dishes and one to share. I was told 'Yes you can but these portions are small' but that's what I wanted .When it came it was exactly what I wanted, small portions. 2 sides for $4.00 each + sharable = Lunch for 20.00 +tax and tip. HAHAHA the joke was on me - My tiny little side orders have now ballooned in price - one was now $8.00 the other $5.50. When I asked the waitress why, she told me the order was upgraded to the higher price - but for no reason- sizes weren't upgraded. Her tip was in my Cup ( 1 cup measure) of $8.00 French Onion Soup and the extra buck fifty on my 'ok' cup of poutine, that I couldn't get cheese curds on.( Not as much as the $6.00 she was gonna get but hey - I had to pay taxes on that !!) As much as I like the ambience at Maccool's, in these times of food being too expensive to buy , this place is living up to that- Fionn's just lost my vote for Great restaurants! Here's how I think the backroom convo went " She thinks she's orderin that little bit?? I'll show her!" Consider me shown and little Miss out a tip - Thanks

Despite the pub fare focused menu I threw caution to the wind and ordered the vegetarian pizza and it didn't disappoint. Good size for 2 people, light, airy, yet chewy crust (?wood fire oven) and full of flavour. Paired with a Mill Street Organic Lager and you've got a great Saturday evening meal. Our waitress was fantastic! Super warm and friendly. Made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. I give The Stone Jug 4/5 stars only because they do not have many "vegetarian options" on their menu (fish & chips, salad, and veg pizza) AND the building is not easily accessible to folks with mobility challenges; there is no wheelchair ramp.
