Several of our parents & relatives are interred at Sunset Memorial...my mother & father, my uncle,…read more2 of my aunts, my cousin as well as my wife's mother & father. Every year as the Christmas holidays approach, we traditionally put decorated artificial wreaths on all of the grave markers...my wife spends a significant amount of time decorating the wreaths to make a nice dignified presentation. You would think, with no winter lawn/property maintenance required, that the grave holiday decorations could remain on the graves for longer than a 2-3 week period before they are removed and discarded! People spend a significant amount of money for the many holiday commemorative markers just to have them automatically removed & discarded after a relatively short period of time! I can understand this for fresh wreaths & greenery which will eventually die and deteriorate anyway but artificial markers will be revitalized and re-used every year. It wouldn't be so bad if the cemetery would post the "cleanup dates" on their website but the only notification given is a sign near the cemetery entrance showing the date the cleanup will begin...for those not living near the cemetery or not visiting very often, they never become aware of the date and, if they arrive too late, arrive to find all of the decorations no longer on the graves but in piles to eventually be discarded. Would it be THAT much of an issue to post the cleanup date on the website for improved awareness or, for that matter, to extend the cleanup date until the end of January to provide a more significant time period to have the graves decorated for the holidays?

I have been waiting for almost a year for my mother's grave marker to arrive…read more there is no proactive communication from Everstory staff, they don't follow up on the status of orders, and they certainly don't follow up with clients who have paid thousands of dollars. I don't know if it is laziness, lack of care or disorganization, but I know if a client pays me $6000 and I then order a product with that money, I do everything in my power to ensure the order is received, has an expected date of delivery, and I follow up if things don't happen when they are supposed to. It's not rocket scientist if you know how to look at a calendar.... I am in awe by the lack of concern, and I do not recommend anyone bury someone at Sunset Memorial Park or any other facility owned and operated by Everstory. I'm only sad my father's butial here is prepaid. I read complaints about this place -- that some people have waited for decades for their gravemarkers -- Absolutely unbelievable, criminal if you ask me. when I die, I think I'll just be cremated-- then my loved ones can keep me in a vase on a shelf if they want to ...and not have to deal with this crap!

As God would have it, my brother came to be with me in PA where there was a Lamb Funeral Home 1/2 hour from where we lived. Lamb Funeral Home staff could not have been kinder. They did not brush us off or make us feel unimportant because this funeral was paid for long ago. We were treated with respect and sympathy for our loved one. When we went to pick up the ashes, they brought us into a very nice room with comforting lighting to give us a few minutes. The ashes were in a black box, and that box was placed in a lovely white box with gold trim for us to keep him in. The whole experience was nice considering all we were feeling. It helped in knowing our brother was treated with care as were we ourselves. We were very pleased."

Mr. Lamb contacted me the next day and walked me through the steps of planning the funeral. Since it was during COVID, everything was done electronically. Lamb Funeral home called to check on me and to see if there was anything I needed everyday up to the day of the funeral. On the day of the funeral, Mr. Bart took over and made sure my family and me were comfortable throughout the morning and he even added comforting words at the graveside funeral. I would not hesitate to use their service again. Lamb Funeral Home is professional and caring. I strongly recommend Lamb Funeral Home, Huntingdon Valley, PA.

I tried to go to the office to complain, but no one was there, tried calling, no answer. We have a dog buried in the pet cemetery there and can't even find her headstone, the grass is even higher over there. This place is a disgrace. We have our loved ones buried here and the owners show no respect. I will be calling daily until someone answers, I would show up everyday, but I live an hour away. When he was extremely ill with cancer and felt he would not survive, he began discussing his demise and his wishes with my grandmother. He told her that all he wished for was to have his gravestone read "Here lies an honest man". Our family doctor feared he may have been exposed to certain chemicals during his military career, which may have caused his cancer. Regardless, my grandfather did not regret his military service. The whole family heard of this wish and we not only agreed with it, we expected it. There was no more honest a man than my grandfather. I was there when my grandfather was lowered into his grave. I was fifteen years old and was devastated to lose him. He was the hub to the wheel that was our family, and without him, everything changed. Everyone moved to different places, and my immediate family moved to Florida. I never returned to visit my grandfather's grave. I was too far away and could not afford to visit. Thirty five years later, I was In Pennsylvania in November of 2021 for his sister's funeral. She was buried in the same cemetery as my grandfather, and my uncle, my sister and I requested afterward to go and find my grandfather's grave. We walked up to his final resting place. My uncle found the marker and began to brush it off as it was Fall and there were quite a bit of dead leaves obscuring it. Once he had it brushed off, we all just stood there, for the first time in 35 years, brought back to the day of his interment. We stood there, stoic, trying not to cry. We all suddenly realized that his marker only had his information on it and did not read "Here lies an honest man". We were all shocked that his marker did not read as we expected. I decided that I must correct this. In his honor, he must be granted his final wish to have those words grace his grave. I reached out to the cemetery and started an inquiry into adding a small marker with the words he so wanted, I was given a quote and just needed time to wait for my income tax return in order to, finally after 35 years, be able to pay to grant my grandfather's final wish of remembrance. When I finally had the funds (the IRS took forever) the price had gone way up. The person originally helping me was no longer working there and I was subjected to new pricing that was double what I was quoted. After nearly three years, I had not been able to afford it when I reached out to Larry Heller at All Star Memorials & Art Stone. Larry heard my story and he wanted to help me. He did some research and was able to order the exact bronze of the original marker with the same font in a small scroll that was affordable to me. Larry was easy to contact throughout the process, and I had full confidence in him with his extensive experience. The marker now has a beautiful scroll with those five words that mean so much, and our family has closure and peace knowing that my grandfather's final wish was fulfilled. A huge heartfelt thank you to Larry for making it happen!
