Front door people didn't acknowledge me. It takes nothing to stop your personal conversation and greet someone. Back room bartender was pretty nice and fairly attentive. Bar back came and wiped the table and cleaned up the empties often. Atmosphere was good. I'd probably go back. read more

One of the only LGBTQIA++ spots here in town if not the only. The staff and bartenders are amazing and the people who i have met here are generally good people. Owner and security staff are rude and disrespectful. They charge different cover charges based upon who you are and they will kick you out for the smallest reason. I will not spend any more money here. read more

Always felt welcome. I walked in and was greeted by smiles and people having a good time. Good drinks. Great people. Not too touchy for a club/bar. Met some people who are still my friends today. Went there because I was told it was an LGTTQIA+ space, but clearly not. Even though one can spot a couple of Britney and other divas posters and several rainbows flags on the walls, the crowd is 80% straight (maybe more?). The DJ does not help: the music is not gay at all, which explains the crowd. Staff is friendly, space is good, and so are the drinks (and cheap, too). read more

I no longer live in the area, but whenever I'm back in town and want to go out, this is the place to go! Great drink prices, an awesome owner and bar staff and fun upbeat music (with not a lot of rap) make this a must for nightlife in Central Illinois! The drag shows are a must see, as well! Another visit here, this time on a Thursday. It's not busy but what struck me is all the straight people, including the bartenders. If you want to market as a gay bar with giant rainbow lighting all over the building then you need to maybe attract a gay crowd. Buying drinks from a bro isn't a turn on--it's annoying. Diesel is a gay bar in downtown Peoria that is open 10pm to 4am Monday thru Sunday. I couldn't find a phone number for the place but I swear it's a real business and they do have a phone there. There is also a ATM, poles to dance on, and a nice patio in the back for smoking. I really enjoy this gay bar and try to visit each time I go down to Peoria. Even if you're not gay, I recommend that you give it a try because the people are very friendly and keep even me coming back for more. It is so fun to dance there and chat at the bar with new people. This really isn't my sort of scene, and it's normally too crowded for me to have any desire to be inside. I only go here by force. The last time I went, a couple tried to pick me up, which was really awkward for everyone involved. My cousin (who is gay) tells me this is a swingers bar. I'm giving them 2 stars because they have pretty flashing lights and occasionally pretty people. They also play music videos on their big screen to keep me entertained, rather than entirely focused on counting down until I can leave. The one awesome thing I think of when I think of Diesel is that they really mean it when they say "you call it." You can call anything, not just well drinks, and still pay that price. read more

If you're going out dancing south of Chicago or North of St. Louis, here and Berlin are pretty much your only options. This place is a gay bar, and attracts quite a diverse and interesting crowd. Occasionally they will have like $3 you call it's, which isn't bad. They only offer a couple of beers though, so hopefully you like mixed drinks. There's always fun music playing, and they have a cage and pole for dancing. You'll see a lot of stuff that you may not want to see, but it's always funny. The dance floor here isn't huge, but the lay out is fun. There's two bars to order drinks from, and you usually don't have to wait too long for a drink. Never would I ever go into a bathroom here, though, knowing what all goes on in there. Just a warning. :) read more

This is always on my list of places to stop in when I go to Peoria! There is a mix of every type of person, which is perfect because their slogan is, "Everyone Fits in Diesel!" The bartenders are quick and very personable. All of the staff is friendly and willing to help. The drinks are the cheapest in town and the atmosphere is great, high energy all night. I definitely recommend stopping in and having a couple drinks! They are open 365 days a year from 10p-4a and I have a great time even on their slow days Sunday -Wednesday! Once a month they hold events such as a drag show and throwback music every second Sunday of the month, I have never left there upset! read more

This bar is incredibly boring and the drag queens aren't great. The cover was different based on what you were wearing--my friend had to pay triple the regular cover price because he was wearing sporty sweatpants and high socks. Do not waste your time by going here. read more

I am a regular in boystown and love the gay scene so I decided to try it out in Peoria. I am hugely disappointed. The crowd there was just odd. A mix of gays boys, lesbians, and straight people so that was cool. They were playing some strange movie on the video screens during the drag show. It had some sort of raunchy rape scenes going on...def not appropriate. The drag queens were pretty awful and not impressive. Overall the vibe was just uncomfortable and weird. We hung out for a while and just could not get into it. read more

Just dont. Really. If you do, padlock your pants on to ensure you don't sleep with anyone you meet there and avoid eye contact with 90% of the bar patrons. Drinks are reasonable - especially for a weekend. Bar is very loud and exploding with Peoria 's finest. The main thing to remember is you are not in Chicago or St Louis...your weekend option was either this or eating a tenderloin paired with a domestic beer and possibly watching sports on the tv. read more

Been to many gay bars in IL and I have never had someone try and start a fight with me (I mean walk up to me for no reason, never met them before). Three people in one night......I don't even know what else to say. Me and my boyfriend came here on a weekend trip just to check out the area, and I have never felt so unsafe before, gay or straight bar. read more

Doesn't always feel like a gay bar, but it plays the best music in Peoria. I'd say the only downside is the random country music they occasionally play, but most of it is the top dance songs and classic hip hop, not just the same bland bass without rhythm. It's my favorite weekend place. Plus, good cheap drinks!! read more
