My first appointment with a new primary was months away and I was panicking when I thought I'd found a specialist in MDBI. So, being a walk-in I paid cash for my visits.The treatment I received consisted of looking at white squares and being spun around in a chair. Again, none administered by a medical professional. When I ran out of cash, a form and pen were provided to me to take out a loan. At my last visit to MDBI I reported that I felt worse than before starting the "treatments". The young woman responded unassuredly "Sometimes you feel worse before you feel better?". Frustrated, I then asked when we were going to address my hearing issues to which she replied "oh, we don't do anything with hearing here." I was stunned.... I did not return. Finally after a couple months, I got in at BJC and got a new primary. I was on the verge of a stroke and had a blood clot that could have killed me. I have a blood disorder that I'm now going to Siteman for. It had not occurred to me that no one at MDBI took my blood pressure/vitals or anything like that. I reported my health situation and asked if there was room for any discretion in regards to expenses I'd accrued at MDBI (thousands). I was not contacted again and even had emails from an established address returned to me. In the years since, my review has evolved from "I'm confused and disappointed" to "This is a scam." At this point I heard from them again. They threatened me with further financial injury if I did not take down my review "immediately" and that this would be my first and only request before I was sued for legal fees.

I worked with only one audiologist over my series of visits. This is unlike going to physical therapy businesses or hospitals where you get passed along from one person to another as their availability dictates. No one tried to sell me any packages or services beyond the therapy my doctor prescribed. There are no memberships or anything like that. I liked how un-salesy this place seems. The machine and technology they use for assessment and therapy seem pretty good. I have a much better idea of what is going on w/ my ears and even my eyes now. The online portal where your video therapy instructions are and where you can message your therapist are easy to use. There was some confusion over billing. I suspect this was due to my insurance company falling short in accuracy. I told MDBI about it and their staff looked into it and had my account fixed up in no time. Oh. The first appointments are at 7 a.m.! Isn't that great? I had to take barely any PTO. Tell Casey hello and that I decided not to have surgery at this time after all!

For Professionals: If a client discloses that they have sensitive skin, I strongly recommend implementing a 72-hour patch test followed by a 5-day monitoring period as a standard precautionary step. I read some unfavorable reviews from Google but ultimately decided to take the plunge. I usually avoid med spa type places like this (not my first rodeo, I get botox regularly so it's not like I'm clueless in this space) but they're the only places that offer photo facials in our area. They obviously try to upsell, which is typical. I had a few dark acne spots from a breakout and wanted to get rid of them. The first two sessions were fine. Nothing special. I didn't notice any difference after them but I had already paid for three. The third time I had scheduled for an evening before vacation. They text me a couple days before to move the time up - which meant I would have to sit in traffic to get there but I was flexible for them. Not a big deal. For vacation, I was going to a cool area so I wasn't worried about it but the day of the appt our airline changed our layover through Hawaii for 48 hours. I immediately called and told them I wasn't comfortable getting laser right before being out in the sun. They insisted it was fine and I would have no repercussions. I emphasized my worry and told them I would just forfeit my last session so they would still get payment. They told me that with last minute cancellations they would also charge my credit card on file $50. I reiterated to them that I would just relinquish the last session and they were insistent on the charge. They promised I would be fine. I wore a hat, used sunscreen, etc but being pale and close to the equator, even though I didn't get sunburned, I came back with melasma all across my forehead which I've had a tiny spot for years but it never got bigger. This is now spread all over the upper half of my face. I did a bunch of research which shows that after laser treatment, it can cause that. I'm so disappointed and sad. They just want their money and don't really care about their patients.
