I have come to this Dicks several times this Holiday Season. It is always very clean and organized. Has most of not all the other Dicks stores have and conveniently located at the mall for pick up orders. Your average Dicks. This store In particular though has way too many employees working. The entrance/exit always has about 5 people to simply greet you and then the cashiers standing around those five. Which made This visit very awkward. When I was checking out there was a huge and loud bickering session between the employees legit yelling at each other with who had more authority, very immature which makes sense sense since all workers were late teens or early 20s. It was very unprofessional and only seemed to heighten as they then tried enlisting more employees to the argument yelling across the store. The one employee finally walked away and it fizzled out but went on for several minutes too long. Makes the beauty of shooing online more ideal. read more

True Confession: I'm not a sporty dude. I don't buy sporting goods. What I do know is this... the overhead for this store MUST be massive. Which means that they need to mark up their goods accordingly. My sister gave me a shirt from Dick's for XMas that I returned. Was shocked to find out it cost $80. I went around the store trying to find something else to buy & walked out empty handed. This is not a discount store... I'd rather shop at Sears or Target for exercise togs. This store has an empty, cavernous feel to it. Absolutely NO customer service... if you like to walk around a store without EVER being approached by a sales associate, this is the place for you. read more

I think people here are too tough on DICK'S Sporting Goods. Don't get name wrong, there is no excuse for bad service. But at the same time I personally saw some customers here that belong in a mental hospital threatening and screaming for nothing. So I will review the place itself: Very good prices. I had a small window of opportunity to do some shopping in Rochester this past weekend and I spent 20 minutes going around the store trying to find the Buffalo Bills gear and found absolutely nothing. 2 hours later, on my way out of the store, I spied the gear hidden in a corner behind a number of racks that blocked the view. Major Marketing FAIL, Dick's!!!! Rochester has a HUGE Buffalo fan base, so why hide the gear where it can't be found? I ended up buying all my gear somewhere else, not only because I could easily find it elsewhere, but at the end of the day, I found Dick's prices to be about 20% higher than the other sports stores in the Mall. When Dick's was on the other side of Hylan Drive (maybe I'm dating myself here), it was the place to go for sporting goods needs and local team wear. I remember the "Stomp the Steelers" "Squish the Fish" and Bury the Bears" style T-shirts one could buy at that store. The place catered to local sports fans! Heck, I had even bought my hunting gear and work boots there. Now? It's hard to separate Dick's from the fact that it's a national chain - 20 years ago it didn't have that feel or reputation and now it looks like every other 2-story Dick's around the country. read more

Good luck finding a pair of soccer cleats in your size under $100. I think I counted maybe five pairs of size 11 in any model and price. Pathetic. Giving one star for the good customer service. At least they were honest and told me to go to the Dick's in Victor. read more

I waited around for 10 minutes in tables for someone to help. Asked two associates for shoes and they grabbed them and left. Then I walked to another department asking for help, and they called for someone to come and they never came. I would NEVER spend my money here. read more

It's huge but empty. When I mean empty, I truly mean that even though there is merchandise everywhere, there are no employees to be found at all except at the checkout lines. Don't plan on asking for help as there is none to be sought, but if you like to shop on your own...this won't bother you as much. Not complaining on the stuff sold; they have a great selection of sports and exercise gear. The downside to this? This is a pricey store, so unless your willing to see your wallet weep, try another sporting good store. read more

There are few instances these days where I can say I get exceptional customer service. Dicks Sporting Goods in Henrietta has provided just that for me for the last two years. When I was looking up their hours I was shocked to see the bad reviews. Our family of five is very active in sports and and strength training fitness. With the help of Gordon (one of the employees in the fitness section) and Marilyn (the woman who is a pillar at the registers at this location) I have pieces together an affordable yet AMAZING home gym. Gordon went above and beyond to help me get what I needed at a price far lower than I was prepared to pay. It helps that I gets lots of rewards and coupons too ;) We purchase all of our baseball equipment and probably 90% of our wardrobes from here as well. Returns are never a hassle and the employees are always great! It's really a shame that consumers only take the time to write bad reviews as I'm sure there are 1,000's of customers who have had the same experiences as my family and I. Walked in here because I need a winter jacket. Just unsatisfactory when you have a couple racks in the center isle dedicated to winter jackets. Bought my last winter jacket at a Dicks store and they had all kinds of all places in San Diego. Just don't get it. First big snow of the season that brought me here. Dicks is a great place to pick up basically any major thing you need for any different type of sport. The prices are not great and you are normally better off going to a local shop where they actually know about the stuff they are selling and can help you out. read more

I recently bought my first firearm at the Dick's Sporting Goods store in Henrietta. I was impressed with the knowledgeable staff in the Hunting section. It wasn't busy at the time that I first was there and the salesman, Dan, was very helpful explaining everything that a newbie like me needed to know. I didn't buy my gun until later that day so I could have my friend come with me and help me pick out a rifle with me. There was another salesman in the evening (sorry, I don't remember his name) that was equally helpful and friendly. I settled on a Ruger 10/22 and also bought a scope, gun cabinet, ammo and other accessories. My main interest is to use the gun for target shooting and plinking. I'm looking forward to shooting at my friend's range soon. I would recommend this Dick's store to anyone looking to buy a firearm. read more

I went to Dick's to use a gift card I had gotten after returning a Christmas gift. The item I was looking for, Garmin Edge 500, was not in stock but they offered to order it from their website with a quoted price of $250 which seemed high. I then looked up the price on Garmin.com and found it had a price of $199 I brought up the fact that I could buy the exact same unit, confirmed by the product number, off the Garmin website for $50 less and asked if they priced matched. The manager acknowledged that it was cheaper off the manufacturers website but still refused to price match. Once I use my gift card, I will never shop at Dick's again. I would understand if they stood by their marked up price if they had the item in stock (paying for the convenience of walking out with the item) but they would have had to order it online so their was no reason why their online price should not have matched the price from the manufacturer. This is just a case of a retailer trying to take advantage of people who didn't know to look for the manufacturers price before buying. I will be telling everyone who will listen to never shop at Dick's again if you want to ensure you are getting treated with respect. read more
