I live 70 miles away from the store. My wife determined that she would need a different size so we returned to try to exchange the unworn new shoes. This was during an extremeley cold and icy period of weather here in central Illinois. There were no other sizes of said shoes available so we just ask for a refund. Then we presented our receipt, only to be told that we were one day late for the refund of the sale merchandise shoes. 1 day! I expressed my displesure of the return declination and ws referred to a manager that gave me a scolding, but eventually accepted the new unworn sale shoes that did not fit as a return. I am appreciative of the acceptance of the return, but because of this getting dragged through the mud before acceptingthe return I have chosen to just stay out of this place and have not returned! Retail managers sometimes act like straw bosses when the owners give them a stripe on their arm and they think they are a general in the military. It is said that one bad experience in a retail establishment will take seven repeat returns with a good experience in order reestablish a trusted relationship with said business. It's a nice shopping complex with an outdoor mall format. It's a bit cold right now to enjoy the fresh air between stores but I imagine it's really nice in the warmer months. They have a lot of the major chains I frequent like DSW, Old Navy, NY&Co and the Loft. There are public restrooms and places for coffee and food as well. Some of the shops I frequent include Bergners, Charlotte Russe, Charming Charlie's, Old Navy, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Banana Republic. There are several options for places to eat including steakhouses, stir fry, coffee shops, and ice cream! There are several specialty shops as well. Check the store directory online before visiting. Since this mall is so new, things are always changing to find the perfect fit for the local consumers.

She has bathroom issues the requires her to carry extra underwear and pads in her purse. What little enjoyment she has is coming to your store to get out a little and see things as much as she can till we walked into your store. We were told to put our purses in the locker or we couldn't enter! My mom tried to tell the lady without announcing to the whole world the she has bathroom issues and carries appropriate things and a lot of times she doesn't have time to go to a locker and get a purse with 1 blind eye and was told she couldn't shop unless she did. Have you ever tried to maneuver an 86 year old, blind in 1 eye with bathroom issues while carrying my phone, wallet, reading glasses along with my mother's wallet, phone, glasses, underwear and pads while shopping?! Impossible! My mother has spent a lot of money in your store to have her degraded and totally embarrassed by your employee. The biggest issue I had today at the Pekin, Illinois Dunham's Sporting Goods was on Saturday July…read more27, 2019 approximately 4:30pm at the cash register where I had a transaction that went through twice and I pulled it up on my phone right there to show the clerk.  The first one went through bad because I accidentally pulled my card out too soon.  I then put my card in again and it completed the purchase and I pulled up my account to make sure it didn't charge me twice but it did. When I realized this and showed the clerk I asked to talk to the manager to refund the second purchase and just return the items until my bank could clear the first purchase to which I planned to them come back and repurchase the items at a later date. The manager at this location named Michael was very rude when trying to solve this issue.  I clearly explained I didn't want to take the items of the purchase to just refund the second amount that got charged and I would call my bank about the first transaction to which he responded that he couldn't do. I asked him if a customer came in with a receipt to return items would they or would they not get a refund of their items? He stated they would. I then asked why I couldn't get a refund for those items then since I wasn't going to take them with me, wanted the second transaction refunded, and wouldn't be taking the cleats with me? His response was that it was because I didn't have a receipt which I countered with telling him it's because it wasn't printed yet or hadn't been handed to me yet and then I pointed to the computer screen and showed him where it said the amount was just tendered.  He still argued saying that they couldn't do anything about it even though I clarified on several occasions that I wasn't talking about the 1st transaction that got taken out of my account even though it didn't show as tendered on theirs. Through more arguing I told him if I couldn't get the second transaction that showed as tendered on their screen refunded that I would have to report it as fraudulent activity and that's when he said I could just take the items and go to which I then again explained I didn't want the items.  The original clerk finally stepped in and said that all I wanted done was for my transaction to be cancelled and then refunded which is when he finally said "we could do that but thats not what she's been asking". This made me laugh and I further explained it was exactly what I had been saying the whole time, and I wasn't sure how that was mistaken, misinterpreted, or was hard to comprehend- which he then continued to repeat over and over "no that's not what you said" like a toddler trying to argue with a sibling.  The cashier then asked me if I was sure I didn't want the items and I told her no I didn't want to purchase from a store whose manager was so brusque and ill-mannered, to which manager Michael then shouted out "good cause we don't want you here".  We will not go back again because of Michael. Considering we have a family that uses a lot of sporting equipment for having two sons in hockey, another kid in football, and a home gym that we add to frequently, Michael has cost Dunham's Sports of Pekin, Il a lot of business not only from us but from a lot of our extended family as well after taking this to social media about it as well.
