This location has horrible customer service, I waited for far too long in the check out with not a single other person in line while three employees just chit chatted behind the registers. Ok, I really should dock them a star because Saturday night, their checkout line was insane. I know I usually exaggerate just a tad, but the line had to have been 20 deep that night. When we got to the front of the line, the cashier apologized for the wait which I thought was cool. So why am I not deducting a star? Well behind me there was some jacka$$ basically yelling at the cashier about getting more help. I don't know much about how Dick's runs their store but I'm pretty sure it's not the cashiers call to get more help. Also, the shopping experience was very easy. I love Dick's! Ok that sounded kinda wrong, but you know what I mean... I love this store! It's huge (pun intended) and has a large selection on all your favorite sport brands. The stuff can be expensive, but that's not Dick's fault... a lot of those brands in there carry a big price tag. I like going in here and just browsing around. I spend the majority of my time in the golf department, so take that at face value. Their employees in the golf area are friendly and surprisingly knowledgeable about the products available and the game itself. I went in almost every day for a week hitting different irons in their testing rooms, and not once did I get a sour look for repeatedly trying out different clubs. Even if you don't plan to buy, they are the only chain store I've been to that allows you to tape up a club and try it out. I ended up buying clubs here at an excellent price last weekend. read more

Unfortunately,after many visits to this store with sub par service,yestereday(12/22/2020) was the worst ever!I had taken my daughter in the night before,and she fell in love with a little girls bike teal in color,that was with about 10 other bicycles 20 ft from the entrance.My wife was also looking for a bike for her,so I went back the next day,and there were 2 of the little girls teal bikes left,and since she also wanted a new helmet,I went to the back to get the helmet,and there was also a nice Teal womans bike that was what my wife was looking for,and it had a price tag on it for 399.00,so I pushed it to the front,and grabbed the girls bike,and set it to the side and went to stand in line.As soon as i reached the cashier,her name was Jaimie,possibly the manager,she had a HORRIBLE attitude and asked me if anyone checked the bikes out,or if I just took them to the front.I told her the girls bike was 20 ft from the registers,so I grabbed that,and the womans was on the floor,so I took it also.She kept being pissy and said they needed to be "Tacked out"I asked her what that meant,and she said they needed to be looked at in the back...WTF?She said it would take 5 minutes,so I paid over 650.00 for the 2 bikes,and some guy walked them away.AFTER 25 MINUTES of waiting,I went over to her and asked her what was up,and she said I needed to go to the back where the bikes were.I had 2 customers waiting at my auto shop,so I was in a hurry,and already 25 minutes of waiting,and I asked her what was going on and why they were checking them out,and she said they were making sure the bolts were tight...Once again,WTF?They build them in the store,wouldn`t they check that when they put them together?It is a bicycle for God`s sake,has 15-20 bolts max?She got VERY,VERY PISSY,possibly PMS,ing,and told me to show her the reciept,and she voided the sale!I asked her if she was cool with doing that and losing the sale,and she did not even look at me and said"JUST SIGN THE RETURN!!!!!".I went to a nice mom and pop store called El Camino bicycles,and got a better Electra,for less money,and found a nice bike for my daughter also.Dick`s,rest in HELL!I have a Dicks credit card,score rewards,but you will NEVER see another dollar from me!!!I would think that managment should look real hard at Jaimie,and see if she has a habit of this,or if she does not care about her job or customers?????Go to local mom and pop,go to Amazon,just do not go to Dick`s,please! read more

Went to the grand opening. Of course opening day had a ton of staff in store. They were all very helpful in making sure I was finding what I needed. One even introduced himself and actually started conversation. Rare these days. They have a ton of merchandise. They carry a wide selection of soccer gear, which made me happy, and most other popular team sports. They also have a corner dedicated to golf and another for outdoorsy activities. All in all it was a good experience for me. Much better than other chain sporting stores in the area. read more

I have been coming to Dicks for awhile now. You can't beat their low prices on outdoor equipment. There is a Sports Chalet close to me as well but this place always beats their prices. It can get a bit busy during the weekends, so if you need help I would suggest going there in the evening or on a weekday. All the employees are friendly and willing to help in any way they can. This Sporting Goods store is one of the Few stores that is allways clean when you walk in and there are a big selection of Polos and Golf Gear also they have mountain Bikes and all sorts of sports stuff . The down side is there Team Sports and N.F.L N.B.A M.L.B also N.H.L Gear is So So they don't have a big selection !! If your looking for gear for your sports team then I recemend A place called Sports Feaver it is much better !! Overall the prices are ok but a little high !! Worst shopping experience ever....needed help finding my shoe size...all boxes are mixed up...looked around for 10 min and no one ever came by or said hello...once I found a shoe I wanted I started walking around looking for someone and walked up to the men's clothes before I found someone...he said he would call the shoe person...this guy was just moving displays around...i guess he is not allowed to look in the back for other shoe sizes....i waited another 10 mi. And no one came...i pushed the button for help and still no one came after 5 min....someone pushed the dressing room button and someone showed up to that in less than a minute...i had to approach that person to ask a 2nd time for help with shoes...after wasting about 25min they didn't have my size or even know if more where coming in...horrible experience read more

Not nearly the size of the one I usually go to Las Vegas, but they sure make up for it here with their service. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted but not pestered. After taking a stroll around this place, I finally identified what I was looking for. Because the items I needed were behind glass, assistance was needed. To my surprise, I didn't get one or two associates helping me, I got three. Talk about service at its greatest. When it comes to purchasing something pricey, I do take my sweet ol' time. The associates waited patiently as I decided on my picks. Long story short...I found what I was looking for, got the assistance I needed, and was rang up with no problems. Now I stress "no problems" because every time I buy something at Dick's Sporting Goods, the cashiers have issues finding my rewards account. There has even been multiple times where I either started over with my rewards card or simply gave up. At this location, they found me and fixed the issue, which this whole time happens to be an incorrect phone number for me. Quick and efficient all the way here. I mentioned earlier that this location is smaller than the Las Vegas location. The immediate difference is that this store is only one level. But looking through the place, it appears to have more of a selection. The set up for this Dick's is almost like a Sports Authority where clothes is in the middle, golf to the immediate right, ball sports on the left, and outdoor sports in the back. Since I'm in a Sports Authority a lot, this made my shopping experience a lot easier. A well organized and polite staff at this Dick's"s Sporting Goods. Keep up the good work. There was several different racks at the store today that had sales advertised for the entire racks and then once you get to the counter the associates charged full price. These were not individual items or items that had been mistakenly placed but the entire rack of clothes had a sale sign and every time we went to the counter to pay they were suddenly full price. Huge disappointment and complete false advertising. Especially messed up during the holiday season. Went into Dick's about a month ago looking for a new golf outfit for a get together with my friends. Some sticker shock on some of the pricing of shirts - 60 dollars, WOW. Hoping that shirt would correct the slice in my swing. Regardless - I was bargain shopping -and I was able to find a shirt, a pair of shorts and a hat that were marked in the discounted area. I decided to buy some golf balls and some other knit-knack stuff as well. Went to the counter - assuming to pay roughly 100 (a nice chunk of change to look good for my friends). Unfortunately the price of the shirt was priced at 50 dollars, shorts priced at 60 dollars and the hat priced at 30 dollars. The balls and knit knack brought the total to 175 dollars. Really? Had the cashier call the golf department guy to see what was going on. He said the sign was a mistake but would honor the 40% off. So it brought the shirt down to 30. When I asked about the shorts being 60 when the sign said 29.99 - I had to go over and show him the sign. Literally - there was one rack of shorts... a total of 18-20 pairs of shorts hanging. The sign above it said "29.99" for golf shorts. But because my shorts had some sort of differentiation in design compared to the others, my shorts were 60 dollars. I asked him why would all the shorts be in one area if they had different pricing and he said "I dont have enough room to hang these shorts in a different area"... REALLY? At this point I was just irritated as I spent time looking for these deals and I didn't want to break the bank for one outfit. I decided to buy the hat and nothing else. I went to another store and bought an outfit, shirt and shorts for 60 bucks. To think I really wanted that outfit, but not for that price... more the principle of the matter. What irks me the most - I sent an email to Dick's Sporting Goods - just to give them feedback about my experience. I dont need any compensation... just wanted to let them know my situation. I got an automated response that said I would be contacted by Dicks within 24 hours (pretty standard response from large companies). I waited about 3 weeks and I didn't hear anything from them. I sent them another email - just to reiterate, give them the benefit of the doubt - perhaps my comments didn't fall on deaf ears, rather they just didn't get around to responding. I got an email back, saying the store manager would be notified of my feedback as well as the district manager would reach out to me. Said it would take 3-to-5 business days... Thanks guys, glad my feedback gets put in a generic queue of 3-5 business days for a situation that took place a month ago on the 26th of August. The silly thing is - I love this store. Great selection, cool ambiance, etc. I was a loyal customer whenever I needed sporting attire or equipment. I didn't want this one experience to ruin my loyalty, because I truly truly truly despise when customers get upset about one bad situation when they've had multiple great experiences. I guess my loyalty to this store was one-sided in regards to addressing that one bad situation. My book of a review is now over... LOL. read more

Barbara the store manager, refused to refund our money on a $150 new unused item that we had the receipt for. They kept the item with the receipt and said they'd have the manager call us back. Three months later, the item was never refunded nor where our phone messages returned. Corporate Customer service said they sent a certified letter with a gift card and that still has yet to be received. Contemplating taking them to small claims court. I suggested we look for new running shoes for the Mrs. Brian the manager helped her for about 15 minutes and narrowed her choices to two that were right for her feet. I purchased an expensive golf club from Dicks Sporting Goods and it had a loose/broken adjustment the first time I used it. I went to the Manager of the golf department at the Escondido store and couldn't have had a worse experience. He said tough, can't fix it and won't replace it. He was rude and condescending! He said the M1 Driver was junk, poor parts, aluminum adjustments, that it could be adjusted once then left alone. He said all I could do was super glue it. I asked for the store Manager, he said no, he was the golf department Manager and that's the final word. I then went to the Oceanside store and they fixed the club immediately, it took 2 minutes. Don't do any golf business at the Escondido store, poor service and they will not stand behind their products. read more
