The storefront looks more like a local boutique than a typical Talbots. The employees are always greet you as you walk in and are friendly and helpful. The only downside is their stock has been very low the last couple of times I have been in. These visits were months apart and both times it looked as if they might be going out of business. They actually had a lot of things I liked and some good sales. The staff was so very friendly and helpful. And it was love at first sight. I must have tried on everything in the store, putting together pieces to mix and match to see me thru the next season. My husband (who is never a patient shopper but was that day) finally said "Make up your mind...they've been closed for an hour" I had no idea, so I apologized and was told that was perfectly fine cause they were enjoying helping me. That's the thing about this company - they treat their employees well and I've never met anyone who didn't love their product and love working here. If wanted a job I would be working for them. But it's all about the clothes - the comfort and feel. And wearability. And how they make you feel. You can dress it up or dress it down...Whether planning to spend the day in the kitchen or go to a ball (I have worn a dress I bought here to a formal ball). I have clothing that is years old that never wears out. I might get sick of wearing it, but it doesn't wear out. It used to be when I got a new catalog, I would have to jump in the car and head to Cincinnati. Everybody there knew my name and said they had been waiting for me to show up! So it was a happy day when they finally came to Dayton. And now we have two here...they make it easier to locate my size. But this is my home store...and they not only know my name, they know my number. And when I say "call me when this jacket comes in" I know my phone will be ringing in a matter of days.
