Absolutely, without a single doubt, the WORST Dick's store I have ever been to in my entire life! There is no rhyme or reason to the layout, items mixed on racks, t-shirts, then hoodies, then shorts all smashed on the same rack. Racks in the middle of the floors, stuff EVERYWHERE! I came here because my son joined tee-ball and we needed to get all the equipment. It's his first time doing it and I was not 100% what we needed and the list I had from the coach wasn't too specific. As soon as I walked in someone greatest me and asked if I needed help. I told them I needed help finding tee-ball equipment for my son and I didn't know anything about gloves, bats and the other things he needed. He walked me to a gentleman in the department to help me. I believe his name was Ryan and he walked me through everything that I needed. He tried different gloves on my son. He really explained everything really well so I can understand. I will always go back to the Dicks for any sports equipment I need because they did such a great job helping me! Thank you so so much! read more

The place lies to the costumers and I almost got scammed. The display had the wrong size that was in the display shoe box. this is a dumb ass move. I wrote this email to the CEO today and wanted to share my experience with this store on here: Mr. Stack, I'm writing to you directly because as a loyal customer of Dicks I'm very upset with a situation that happened today at the Commack, NY location. My husband and I purchased a 300 lbs eight set for curbside pick up. I sent my husband to get it alone and as instructed by the sign at the pick up parking spot, he was going to stay in the car and wait for the team members to arrive and at the very least assist with putting the weight boxes (300 lbs worth of boxes) in the trunk. Instead, two guys came outside with the weight set and refused to help my husband put them in the car. They literally sat there and watched them do it and stated they were unable to help him put it in the car. We know this is false because we have bought other items for our home gym at Dicks and have never had this issue. Additionally, these gentlemen we right behind my husband, chit chatting amongst themselves, watching my husband, not wearing a mask or taking any precautionary covid 19 related methods. Because of what happened today, my husband now lays on the couch with what we think is a inflamed lower back and will likely have to to go the doctors in the morning. I imagine you understand why I chose to write you this email. The store was truly unprofessional today and though I know it's not a representation of the company as whole, I will not be going back to this location. Went for some giants apparel even though that are awful this season. Showed up to dicks and there was one small rack with giants shirts and jerseys and they were either XXL or youth. I don't know if they are biased against the giants but I can see why their revenue continues to decrease due to their awful selection and political stances. But if you're in the market for travel mugs they had a full wall selection of them. read more

After opening just a few months ago, this Dicks Sporting Goods still has its new smell and shine. Very organized, well laid out, items are always in stock, and staff is incredibly knowledgable! Beautiful displays for all departments. Golf simulator and putting green was pretty cool too! I had an awesome buying experience while purchasing some new kicks for running. They helped me choose just the perfect shoe for my stride and the arch of my feet! (Thanks Michael!!) Overall, Sports Authority, just 1 mile east of here, needs to seriously start taking notes and step their game up. I definitely look forward to returning in the future again. read more

Third time coming into this store only because my son needed new cleats with metal spikes and wanted to try some on to see how certain brands fit. Dicks is a tricky store to form an opinion about because of their prices. They have everything; sneakers, workout gear, winter coats, boots, camping stuff, everything your athletic heart desires but what they don't have are competitive prices. Good news is, Dicks price matches so if you come in with your product information and a cheaper price they will give you that item for that price. I came in recently for a pair of sneakers and after standing in the sneaker department with 6 other customers and nobody back there to assist, I went to the front to ask if somebody could help us out back there. Soon after someone was there to help. The guy was super nice but he didn't really know about the different sneakers. There were two pairs of nikes that looked absolutely identical to one another and one was $100 the other $120, he didn't really know why they were priced differently, which was a little frustrating. Then I looked up the one shoe and showed him that it was $20 cheaper on Nike.com and he said that was because sometimes Nike does flash sales and didn't mention to me that they would match that price so i left. The next day I decided to come back and speak to someone in management about matching the price and it was a hassle free experience. The kid working at the cashier was awesome when I inquired about matching the price to the sneaker I found on nike.com He immediately grabbed a supervisor and within seconds after reviewing the Nike site, they gave me the cheaper price. Good to know that they have this option. The store is pretty organized from what I can see, they have a lot of Patagonia and North Face stuff, Nike, Adidas, Carrie Underwood's line, which is super expensive but great quality. If you don't mind spending some money then this place has what you need, but in terms of clearance and sale items, it's a rarity. read more

I purchased a bike with insurance. The rear retailer bent into the back wheel. I dropped the bike off to be fixed. After 1 and 1/2 weeks, I called them to check on the bike. They couldn't find it. They called back later to ask what was wrong with the bike. The rear wheel physically could not spin. They ordered the part. It is now almost 4 weeks and the bike is still not fixed and as per my last conversation with the store, they don't know when it will be fixed. At least with a car dealership, they have loaner cars. Went in to get a pair of sneakers. Store was empty. I think even if I put cash all around me, I would've received any help--and this is a new store! Clusters of employees talking together, not acknowledging any customers. Wasn't going to beg for help. Taking my biz to mom & pop shop. Get what you pay for, want service, def. need to go to a place where they pay their employees more than min. wage. I trekked to the Runners Shop in Huntington! Amazing, they were so helpful. I attempted to buy several footballs online and pick up at this store. I called customer service and tried to fix this matter. The only message I got was you telling everything that you could not do for me. I went to the store and was charged an additional 2 dollars an item. So not only did I spent more money and more time in the store, the store did not have any large bags to carry out the items. So l juggled them all the way to my car. In addition to this experience I found your customer service on your website disinterested in helping me to the point I asked if he had something else he would rather be doing. I went here yesterday looking for a last minute gift of a trampoline for grandson. I called to see if they had the item before I made the trip. The phone was answered on the third ring, the representative checked for the item, gave me a price, told me how to assemble it and gave me directions how to get there. Beautiful store, big selection and well organized. Heck just answering the phone by the third ring they had my business. Someone actually carried the item to my car without even asking. read more

I had a very poor experience at this store. I will say that the overall aesthetics of the establishment were very nice, but the customer service was the worst I have experienced in a department store. First, I was constantly hovered over and followed by various employees and the manager. I was simply browsing for various items and not making a ruckus. I believe due to my age and my friends they assumed that I could possibly cause a problem, I was not at all loud and there were actually other adults being louder, but due to the prejudice staff I was, "not trusted". I was rudely asked to leave the store and when I asked why, I did not receive an answer. I'm very disappointed that even now adults can be so discriminatory towards mature youths. read more

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! I ordered a 10ft kayak at 3:35pm and by 6:15pm I had an email confirmation that it was ready to be picked up! and Being that it was ready so quickly I didn't plan ahead or realize that the kayak wouldn't fit in or on top of my car. The manager, Al, and an associate from Lodge, Brian, were extremely patient and helpful and even tried to appease me by seeing if we could fit it in my car (a small 4 door sedan). Ultimately, I had to go home switch to a larger SUV and come back. Both Al and Brian were there for me the second time and brought my kayak back out and helped me strap it on top of my vehicle. Al even brought out twine and scissors for me (b/c again I didn't prepare properly for this pickup). There is no way that I would have been able to get this kayak home without their help. If they weren't there to help put it on my SUV I actually would've had to return the item. I have recommended this specific Dick's SG store to my friends and family and raved about the superb customer service. read more

Went in to buy tennis gear for with my girlfriend, found nice golf shirts I liked. I kindly asked the employee who was updating the "sale" signs in the golf shirt section if the shirt I was looking at was "on sale." I got a half answer. After a minute or so he placed a "on sale" sign on the exact shirt rack I asked about. I asked again, "is this shirt buy one, get one 50% off" to determine if I should purchase a second $50 golf shirt. The answer I received was "I don't know. I don't care. I just want to do my job." Verbatim. I'm not sure what this guy's "job" was, but it definitely wasn't to be helpful. I asked him if he could find me someone who could help, he said there wasn't any one. I found what looked like a manager, who tried his best to answer this impossibly tough question. Pointed out the unruly employee, manager didn't seem to care that much. The employees here need training, and a manager who is more involved, or cares about running a proper, approachable business. What a shame... read more

This Commack store has more merchandise than the one in Huntington, but customer service, floor staff need a lot more training. I was in the fitting room and as I tried to take off a blouse I just tried on, my hair got cause in the anti-theft tag. I was in that room without a top on so I pressed the assistance button, hoping someone would come help. I could not go out because I could not put on another top since my hair was caught on the device not allowing me to take off the blouse nor put on my blouse. When a customer presses the assistance button, it constantly beeps until someone comes and helps. I noticed it would stop beeping so I pressed it again, and again it stopped beeping. I did this a few times. I finally looked down and saw a shadow so I opened the door and placed a top over my chest to asked that person to get assistance. The shadow that I saw was the staff. This is the female that kept pressing the outside button so that it would stop beeping. Each time she pressed it, she kept walking away instead of knocking on the door to help me. Who ever the manager is of this store needs to train these employees more thoroughly. I cant help but wonder what would have happened to me in that room if the matter was life threatening, i.e., heart attack...and that female employee continuously pressing the outside button to just shut if off... read more
