Could not even get waited on at CR store. Went in intending to purchase a bike - went in on a weeknight at 5pm - some guy in bike dept putting something together for or training two other people standing there watching him. One other individual walked a customer over to the swimsuits and never came back. I left for an appointment and returned at 7:30 pm - there was no one at all around insofar as sales people. I returned an item that had been a gift and they gave me in-store credit. Okay, not ideal, but I bought some stuff I didn't need. There was about a dollar left on the in-store credit, and they wouldn't even give me that tiny amount of change (Well, you can buy a candy bar or something.) They have a lot of camping supplys along with sporting goods. Its a dicks doesn't everyone know what this place is? They do have a good size of golf clubs and gear here, but I would much rather go to nevada bobs for my golf needs, plus I feel like this place has really high prices on all their merchandise. If you like to over pay and see the high school kids that work there stand around and not be able to answer your questions for you then you must be a dick shopper. read more

If I could give this store 0 stars I would, the staff is rude and constantly on their phones. I never see anyone in fitness and apparel. When I do finally find someone to help they are rude and do not answer my questions. The so called lead by the register is constantly on her phone and stands around when there are big lines. Each time I go to this location I tell myself I will never shop there again. The customer service is consistently non existent. Dicks is the worst place to shop if you ever have an issue with a purchase. You buy something and if it has a factory defect, they will not even take it back stating you must contact the manufacturer. Terrible customer service. Why buy anything there? As a sports coach with 13 years experience, I will never buy items for my team there no matter what the price. Who needs the hassle. Their sales people we encountered are not even versed in what the proper equipment is. Bad experience. Went to make a purchase in the golf section, probably would have ended up spending a decent amount of money ($400) with them but the two old guys that work in the golf section fumbled all over themselves with their "knowledge" and I got the vibe that my questions weren't worthy of their time. Luckily enough I had researched the product a decent amount so I had a good understanding of it. I had also found the exact same product elsewhere (pennysaver flyer at Scheels) and asked if they would match the price per Dick's website policy but they wouldn't. (The item was at Scheel's in Coralville for $50 cheaper but I didn't want to drive and also wanted to keep the sales tax local. Had I known they didn't honor their own policies I wouldn't have wasted my time driving there in hopes of having the product that day. I have attempted to shop here before but their prices were always a turnoff. I just cant fathom spending 20 to 30 percent more for the same item that others sell down the street/online. I assumed with their prices you were paying for the quality of their service. But their service is on the same level as Walmart. You dummy's lost a sale over a 50 dollar difference. And had you treated me like a customer rather than a "bother" the 50 bucks wouldn't have been a factor for me. I will continue to take my business elsewhere. Overpriced incompetent and pompous is the summation of my experience with you. In the end, I was fortunate enough to find the product online for the same price Scheel's offered with no tax and no shipping. Tried to return my sons $30 baseball glove unused and with all the tags on, that we purchased a week prior, because the league was unexpectedly cancelled. I didn't have the receipt but used my card so I figured they would be able to look it up in their system. I was rudely told that I would get $3.50 roughly back because that was the lowest sale price. I asked her to look the sale up and she called over her manager and asst. manager as if I was being an unruly customer. They Rudely told me that without the receipt there was nothing they could do. I brought to their attention that there was no way the glove was ever 3.50 and that I would accept store credit since we buy ALL of our family's gear at their store weekly. That's when the asst. manager and manager walked away and the cashier said, you're holding up the line do you want to return it or not? I said for (roughly) $3 I would rather donate it. Not to mention every time we're in there it takes a very long time(5-10 min minimum) to find an employee to assist you. I will not shop here again, there is plenty of competitors with better prices, better customer service and better return policies. We came to exchange an item that did not even last 2 weeks knowing that we would have some issues exchanging the item as we did not have our receipt. Our cashier was perfectly polite, helpful and was willing to work with our problem. A one star is given because the Managers on duty, one Dick and one Ryan, were rude, hostile and frankly verbally combative. First, the cashier had to ARGUE in front of us for one of those two to come up. When they did finally come up, they were nasty to the cashier for doing her job and then turned on us. The main manager, Dick, proceed to berate us for not having a 'score card' to make it easier. "I will do this one time only for you," was his nasty response when we asked for a simple exchange. The man in the Golf department also warranted a one start rating by informing the cashier, and us, that the brand of bag we were exchanging was a "piece of crap anyway." This location has awful customer service. I have gone in there twice in the past two months ready to drop $700-$800 on a basketball hoop and for some odd reason they don't seem all that interested in taking my money. The store does not do anything well.... particularly customer service. Awful! They sell a wide assortment of sporting good-related products, but I seem to always walk out dejected not being able to find what I want in the store whether it's due to limited sizing, color or material options. I think I only go in there in torture myself. Avoid it, unless you must have that Walter Hagen wind breaker....you know, Walter Hagen...the top name in golf. read more
