Baton Rouge Dick's store has terrible service. Especially in the shoe department. I brought my daughter to buy tennis shoes AND the guy approximated size based on old shoe. Brought out shoes too small..... I asked for foot measure and he said they didn't have. I find them not service orientated. And lazy. read more

I love me some Dick('s Sporting Goods)...I've been in this locale twice now and have been more than pleased with the selection and level of service... Them clothing tags seem to be a bit pricey but the goods are quality...stopped in on 8/22/13 cause they dumping Lance Armstrong's LiveStrong brand like the Exxon Valdez dumped oil in Alaska back in the day...picked me up an elliptical machine, that was selling for $800ish back when Lance was exalted, for $300...Eddie was the guy I dealt with on the purchase and he was excellent!! Then went upstairs and indulged myself in some golf porn...walking through the huge selection of drivers, touching them longingly and moaning "Oh Billy, Billy, Billy, Billybaroo"...Fortunately I pulled myself together before I got banned... All in all a great store with great customer service and great selections from apparel to equipment for various athletic endeavors...I'll be back, fo sho!! read more

Huge store, great sales and high-quality products to choose from. I have never been here and after my visit, I was left wondering why. My daughter got a gift card here, so we came to look for shoes and some workout accessories she wants to start filming her workout videos. Her darn feet grow so fast, that she needs new shoes almost every 6 months now. I know, right? We also looked at some workout clothes and found some fabulous sales! Workout mats: they got 'em and have some great quality ones, too! Thankfully, we found one of their thicker mats and it was marked down by 50% off. Yup, that was a deal! Most of our time was spent downstairs and did not get to make it to the 2nd floor at all. Everything we needed at that immediate moment we were able to find on the 1st floor. Shoes, clothing, workout equipment is looked to be like it was mostly downstairs. It's located in the surrounding area of the Mall Of Louisiana, next to Nordstrom Rack an Kirkland's. I was pretty impressed with the selection and I will be back (in the Terminator voice). read more

Oh my gosh! Absolutely amazing service at Dicks! I had low expectations going in but they surpassed it all! My husband and I have been building a home gym since Covid happened and the price of weights and gym equipment has been through the roof everywhere else except Dicks! We placed multiple orders online for store pickup. We literally pulled up, checked in and in less than 5 minutes were out the parking lot with our purchases! Super fast service! All of the workers who brought our orders out were so friendly and efficient. We were extremely impressed. There was seriously no wait time at all! Stopped by last night to pick up a Yeti tumbler for my morning commutes. From the moment I walked in the door from the time I left, all employed that I had the pleasure of dealing with were kind, courteous and helpful. I guess Dicks Sporting Goods didn't really expect a lot of customers over the last weekend before . Why do you have to move your stuff around so much? Every time I come here everything is moved...well at least the tennis section is...and it keeps getting smaller...what's up with that? Baton Rouge has a booming tennis community and if you made it a little easier to find and had more than beginner and children's equipment, we'd use your store more. I WILL say that the clearance sales are pretty good, and their reward program will get you some discount action. Sometimes their associates are nice and helpful, others are not so much. read more

Overall this place has a good selection of everything sport, but the greeter at the front is REALLY annoying...and it's the same guy every time. He asks you pointless questions as you are walking in or out and it is SOOOO annoying to have to break stride and stop and BS with him...Just let me get my stuff and go...I don't need to talk about it...SO WIERD! I called before going to the store to make sure they had the item I wanted. My call was answered almost immediately. The woman who answered was extremely helpful and knew the answer off of the top of her head without having to look it up. She was even able to describe in detail all of their options in stock and accessories to go along with it. When we arrived to the store someone asked us if we needed help and quickly pointed us in the right direction- although we probably could have found it on our own as the store is organized extremely well. It was in a very large box that was also heavy. A nice man brought it downstairs and to the register for us. After we checked out, another man offered and did carry the box to my car and was extremely nice as he waited for me to clean my messy car so the box would fit. (I didn't anticipate the box to be so large or heavy) So thank you to everyone working at Dick's you were all friendly and helpful (even just the people we passed by). I can tell they all really love their jobs! Great customer experience and it was a better quality product than I had seen at other places in Baton Rouge. read more

4/13/2015 I was assisted by Nicole in the outdoor fishing department. I went in to have the fishing line on my 3yr old son's new fishing rod reel replaced only to find out that they didn't have the equipment to do it and that it would have to be done by hand. Nicole mentioned that I would have to do it myself. I asked if she could do it and I could help her. She took control and repaired it herself. I still felt uneasy about the rod and reel. I asked if I could just exchange it. (at this point I would be considered a difficult customer LOL, but it was not intentional) my son was just learning to fish and I didn't want him to get discouraged if the reel didn't work again. I didn't have my receipt and I paid with cash. She hesitated, but made the exchange for me as an exception. I said to her that I know she didn't have to do that, but she did. She really went above and beyond for me and she didn't make me feel like I was ruining her day and I let her know that. I asked if her manager was there so I could at least give her a customer compliment, but then I noticed her ID badge and she is the manager. I told her now I know why she's the manager. Thank you so much Nicole for your patience and above and beyond service!!! I hope you get to view this review and remember me. read more

Dick's has a decent selection, but high prices. They also think I'm gonna steal something from them. They watch me every time i'm in the store. Must be the way I "look". The last time was particularly bad. I was trying on running belts with water bottles, and camelpaks, the same lady kept asking me if I needed help over and over. Then I went to the clothing section for a mirror. She loudly described me over the mic (so that I can hear it) that I had a taken a belt and was walking to the front of the store. After I checked in the mirror and put the belt back. She, right in front of me said, "He put the belt back, now". VERY passive aggressive. I guess you might have a better experience at Dick's if you are the "right" kind of person. I just went and bought my stuff at Academy without being hassled. read more
