When I arrived in the store, I really wasn't in the mood to look around so I asked the young lady who was in charge of online orders. Although it wasn't her area, she dispatched someone to see where I I needed to go. I showed the young man what I wanted and he knew exactly where the items were hanging. Late Sunday afternoon my son informed me he needed a specific pair of basketball shoes for his first game the following day. Yes, at the very last minute!! I immediately started looking online and found them at Dick's. Luckily, there was a store pickup option even though the store that had them was 35 minutes away. I ordered the shoes online and waited for confirmation that they were ready for pickup. Time was of the essence because the store would be closing in a little over 2 hours. It was a Sunday so they were closing at 7pm. I received the confirmation in about 15 minutes or less. We headed to the store. Once there, the online pickup process was seamless. A young female employee assisted us through the process. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We were out the door headed back home in about 15 minutes. Another kid crisis averted. I ordered a pair of Hokas online and when I received them they did not fit. I searched the online exchange policy and nowhere did I see that Hokas were non-returnable at the store. Put in my order number and got the barcode to take to the store. After driving 45 minutes and wasting gas, the girl told me they don't return Hokas because they don't carry them. There are a lot of things that stores don't carry except online and I have never had a problem returning them to exchange. This girl seemed annoyed to start with because I interrupted her morning. I base my first impressions of a store the first time I use them by the customer service and not the merchandise. This did not meet my expectations. read more

I have always had mixed feelings about Dick's Sporting Goods, however today definitely sealed the deal. My father bought my kid a very expensive bike for his birthday. Another child is only six, so for me $150 bike is a lot, but he didn't mind and the child was thrilled. My kid has been on this bike all of three times and the housing where the bearings and everything sit inside the pedals fell out while he was riding it on my driveway. To say that my child was upset is an understatement as you can probably imagine, my disappointment came later when I went back to Dick's and expressed the situation and was informed immediately that they don't return bikes and they didn't care. I manage a retail business, and I completely understand corporate policies, however I also feel that if a customer spends $150 on a bike and the child spins less than four times riding it before it falls apart, someone should say some thing at least more polite than that. As far as I'm concerned dukes will never get another penny of my money and I will make it my goal to post as many negative reviews on as many platforms as I possibly can to ruin their reputation. Not as good of a selection as other Dick's Sporting Goods. Also, the staff couldn't act and appear more miserable. As I browsed the clothing, I definitely felt unwelcome in sections that were being restocked (and I was being courteous and replacing every item in the exact spot it came from). This location would fit inside the Hoover location and you'd still have plenty of room to look around. I've run by this location on multiple occasions for a mouthpiece for my son, cleats, tennis shoes etc... I've generally found that it would have been in my best interest to just suck it up and drive further to the Hoover store and deal with the traffic in that area. This store carries far fewer items in stock. Its a smaller store and not as well organized/ maintained in the shoe department. I've met one kid on one occasion that was helpful. Other employees I've interacted with on all other visits actively attempt to avoid customer contact. I purchased an easy up/ cheap o canopy from here and it was badly damaged and obviously used and returned. The manager in lieu of apologizing rather explained how commonly items were used then returned and placed right back on the floor for re-sale. The Hoover franchise is one of my favorite sporting good stores. This store is convenient for me. It does honor the same coupons, discounts and store cash I receive and I will likely go here on occasion for a standard in stock item/ look at clearance stuff while the wife is in Target. read more
