Now if you have a smart trip card, I suggest you register it online and load it up with funds. Its safer and it will help cut back time to catch the trains. Parking is free on the weekends & Federal Holidays and like $5.20 during the week. You can pay with credit card ($5.80) or your smart trip provided that you have funds. You can park in the garage or on the lot (recommended) as long as it's not marked for commuters.

Yuck. The station itself is decent enough and because it's slightly below ground level, even though it is completely outside, it would be out of the rain. As mentioned, Grosvenor-Strathmore is on the Red Line. It has a center island platform (so that you don't have to go up and over and down to turn around). It is between White Flint (towards Shady Grove) and Medical Center (towards downtown).

Nine MARC trains stop here on weekdays, ten on Friday evenings going northbound. There is a brick shelter, built in the 1800s on the northbound side which has a coffee shop and seating inside. Perfect for those cold mornings. There's also an Amtrak ticket kiosk if you need to purchase a one way or round trip ticket. Be careful because you have to cross the tracks to catch Southbound trains to DC. There is the Olde Towne parking garage across Summit Avenue which is easily accessible by a pedestrian bridge. The garage fills up pretty rapidly, if you want covered parking, it's best to arrive before 7:30 am, be careful not to park in spaces reserved for the apartment residents or city employees, you may get towed.

They have a downstairs escalators to the Metro Teains that go from this place to WASHINGTON DC, as far as shady Groce station and more . Te improvements by putting up digital schedules . Now they are putting up surveillance systems aganst Teenage Take overs where they are in a rampage not bejbg in Schol at and hanging where kids are jit allowed at . Its ruining the reputation od good customers there . But im glad improvements are being made . This place has now two parking structures one at the station and ine across the street . It includes elevators to take uou into the metro train areas . They even have apps such as Metro bus or ride on bus app or ateansit app to know schedules to buses or trains there . You can use their QR CODES on theie ads to do them . They eben allow people like Jehovahs witnesses to solicit their materials there to know communities there . But now the bus stops have all new buses and schedules then the old ways anymore . But im getting used to them with time . But my explorations aboard metro buses and ride ons are far ftom over . The MARC train has to be the fastest way of getting to Silver Springs from Garrett Park, although…read moreit only operates during the peak commuting hours. It takes less than 10 minutes, which was WAY quicker than the Red Line (also you don't have to walk/drive to the Red Line station), and about 3 times shorter than the bus. Can't beat that. On the other hand, it is $5 each way a la carte. There is no ticket machine at this station, so you either have to buy the ticket with cash on the train, or buy in advance at another station's electronic kiosk (like Silver Spring). On the plus side, the ride is so short that fares weren't collected half of the time. The train does have kind of a sad feeling to it, but if you're only in town temporarily, it's kind of a novelty. It only seems to serve a handful of commuters, but I sure hope this whimsical MARC route survives.
