To make things even better, he happened to be working in our area (HHI) that same afternoon and offered to stop by after he wrapped up his current job. I couldn't believe my luck and crossed my fingers that it wasn't too good to be true. A few hours later, Moises texted to let me know he was about ten minutes away--which I really appreciated--and assured me he was comfortable with dogs (a relief since we have two large ones). He impressed me right away: warm, genuine, and highly knowledgeable. Paint over-runs on door hardware, fixtures, electrical outlets and switch plates, flooring, both tile and wood and even personal items, including furniture. I've never experienced this level of unprofessionalism in 40 odd years of owning residential property and hiring respected contractors necessary to maintain my property. We signed a contract - initialed and signed by both parties (with the verbiage that Shelby requested) that all materials were included. We were then threatened with a lien on our home for additional materials for $230. As you can imagine - taking legal action would cost more than the $230...so we just paid it. Shelby was a bully and after spending $45,000 dollars with them - we did not even get a final walk through. There are definitely touch up spots and for that amount of money you would think that they would at least walk the property with us. We even had to call them because the front steps were not done correctly and they and to come back to fix them - THE FRONT STEPS - who does $45,000 worth of work and does not even come back to check that the front steps are beautiful - especially since that is the last thing that they did? We tried to fight them on the $230, but they threatened us with many things, of which I would be happy to share if asked...just be very careful because what you have on your contract does not matter. Additionally, we had Miranda and Shelby look at the inside for a quote on the paint and never received a quote from them - they do just want the big jobs, for sure. Please be forewarned.
