To be fair, I have no proof that the gym shower was the source of the infection although I now wear flip-flops whenever I use a public shower. I headed to the pharmacy for an over-the-counter remedy. Despite my diligent efforts, I had no luck. I then made an appointment with a podiatrist. I had the wart chemically burned, frozen, and cut. I used topical cremes and oral medication. I was so desperate that I even used duct tape despite my aversion to home-spun remedies. Despite this medical onslaught, the wart not only survived, but multiplied. After 14 years and several podiatrists, I was about to throw in the towel when my insurance company switched medical providers. I figured I have got nothing to lose besides a $20 co-payment. Dr. Garrison listened with a sympathetic ear to my long travails. He exuded a quiet confidence as he carefully laid out the battle plan to finally defeat the stubborn enemy: a one-two punch that combined incision with medication. The minor surgery was done in his office and was painless. I started taking the medication a month prior and I continued taking it for a month after the physical removal of the wart. SUCCESS! I am grateful for Dr. Garrison's knowledge, skill, and competence. Highly recommended.

Since July we've been trying to get this refund. -- Maybe someone in the business office will get inspired now that I'm posting this issue here.

Dr. Haynam is a Podiatrist, and has been looking after my feet for a little over a year. On my…read morefirst visit my toes were numb, I had hammer toes, and lots of calluses as well as a history of stumbling and falling. He tested my feet, numbness in my toes and, very high arches. He customized some shoe inserts for me, prescribed a very effective foot cream and talked to me about what could be done for my hammer toes. I had the tendon release he told me about. I also did some physical therapy he recommended for me. It's a year later, I've been following his advice, never barefoot, using a gel sleeve on my big toe to prevent blisters and walking more. I have what seem like new feet to me. We did my annual diabetic foot check and it was amazing! I felt every touch with the monofilament tool. Not how it was on my first visit when I could feel nothing on my toes. He told me that it was uncommon to have an improvement like this. I thought it was impossible! But my increase in walking activity and the increased blood flow had improved the circulation and sensitivity in my feet. I am over the moon, first good news this year. Dr. Haynam says that he is "just a foot doctor." It was through his interventions, suggestions and treatments that I had this improvement. I have even gotten pedicures, once a no - no because I couldn't feel and I was embarrassed over the state of my feet. Making an appointment to see him is not the ordeal it is with some practices, his staff is kind, and seem to recognize me, nice. And his medical assistant wears the cutest tennis shoes, we always talk about shoes and where the sales are. She's so sweet, no embarrassment with her, ever. Best diabetic foot expiriance ever.
