Initially, my first-time patient experience was to find a suitable and reliable dentist/dentistry practice that would actually listen to my concerns (the patient) as to my molar root exposure with severe nerve-related pains that lasted between January 2026 into February 2026. To my surprise, after receiving a first-time patient assessment and dental cleaning, a petite female dentist at this particular practice (did not catch her name) called me out, stating aloud in front of everyone, "You do not go around dentist shopping..." rather than acting professionally in the workforce, having any sort of empathy, actively listening to my concerns (as the patient), and understanding my severe level of pain behind tears. To my utter dismay and shock, I was beyond repulsed. Instead of arguing or talking back to show my frustrations from professional to professional - which I believe was not worth my time or efforts or energy to utter anything at all - I paid my copayment and left. I was impressed with the reviews and I made an appt to meet with them for a consultation because I needed a lot of work. What a Breath of Fresh air to speak with the staff and their friendly and caring demeanor. When was the last time you went to a doctors office where they had great customer service and treated you with care and respect. Every member of the stall were extremely friendly and really made you will comfortable, let's face it no one likes the dentist. Unfortunately I have dealt with a lot of doctors offices and Laser Dentistry of NJ is Far and Above any other office I have been to. I generally don't write a lot of reviews but this place deserves it. Every time I had a procedure done, they called me later in the day or the next to see how I was feelin. They Do Care about their patients. I have called the office when I had a problem and Dr Bucher told me come in the next day.....(A Sunday) to take care of my problem.......Amazing! I would NEVER recommend this place based off these shady billing practices!! I am definitely going to challenge that bill since under nj law they have to tell you if they don't take your insurance!

I had previously visited another surgeon who was overcharging simply because they knew the pain I was in, but thankfully, I found Riverside. Dr. Richer was hilarious, made me feel completely comfortable, and gave a detailed explanation of my X-rays. The entire staff at Riverside was just as kind and funny, which truly made the whole experience so much better--especially for something as unpleasant as wisdom tooth surgery. When I went in for my procedure, they even gave me a free shirt, which was both hilarious and thoughtful. After surgery, they provided a head wrap and an ice pack, adding to the overall wonderful experience. Small touches like these really matter and show the level of care and thought Riverside puts into their patients. My husband and I paid over $5,000 to have his wisdom teeth removed. We signed a treatment plan for…read moreone thing and were charged for far more. The surgeon did discuss what he planned to do, so it doesn't seem it was a "something came up during surgery" deal, but several things were not listed on the treatment plan we signed with a price. My husband was told to take Tylenol and Ibuprofen after having impacted wisdom teeth removed which was the anestheisologist's decision to be fair. When I called the office because he was considering the ER due to the pain, a nurse, over the phone, insisted it could not be dry socket. She did not see my husband, is not the physician, and felt it was appropriate to give medical advice over the phone. I requested he see another surgeon in a different location (same practice). It was dry socket. The surgeon in West Orange was fantastic. The communication in West Caldwell left a lot to be desired. After the correct antibiotic was given and he was treated for the complication, we thought we were all clear. We went on with our lives and then received a bill the other day for just under $1200. I spoke with billing, I spoke with the office, and honestly, legal fees would be more expensive. I understand "things happen in surgery" and if our insurance covered this we might not have to pay it, but we couldn't ask insurance if it was covered because it was not what we signed up for. I honestly do not feel it was a change, because he mentioned a bone graft being part of the plan all along. I do not recommend the West Caldwell office. This was such a disaster and we finally could breathe and now we can't again. I would recommend the West Orange office. Dr. Brown in West Orange was excellent, and the surgeon our dentist requested him to see in the paperwork he sent over. I only wrote down the name of the office, not the surgeon he recommended so that was ignored on the paperwork when Riverside received it. The surgeons are fine, the West Caldwell office doesn't have it together so be prepared to do their job while you pay them far more than you agreed to.

It was the most thorough, comprehensive dental exam I have ever had. Dr. Hatfield explained everything in detail and we discussed a treatment plan. The location is excellent, parking is adequate, and the office environment is very attractive. The office staff is excellent, and the hygienist was great as well. All good. I have found my new dentist. P.S. Crowns in one day during a 2-hour appointment.
