I had always wanted to stop here if we had had time turned into, why didn't I keep on going! On entering the store, I was told by the owner that everything was discounted today. When I was about to leave empty handed and feeling a little disappointed, until I saw some that maybe a friend would be interested in. When I ask to see it, I wanted to make sure it was discounted. He said, "Oh no, not these things". I looked at the item, and I didn't want to pay the large amount. He said, ""Well, I could take $100" that's a pretty good discount from $275! I decided, I would purchase the item. Since even for that amount, I hoped it worked! I ask if he had 2 D batteries, and he didn't. U told him, I would check it out, and bring back if it didn't. Don't you think, right then, he should have told me, I couldn't return it! Of course, I wouldn't have bought it! Just as, I was afraid of, it wouldn't! I called back, and he said, "Oh no, I never said it would work, it is 60 years old!" But you did tell me all the things it would do!! Now which is it? I could see this conversation wasn't going anywhere! Lesson learned! Mr., you just gave small town stores a bad name! Keep on going! Oh, that's not all, I found another item I would purchase too. It was marked $36.00. I'm in luck though. I got it for $18! It was still in original box! When I looked at it closer later, the original price tag was still on it! It was 4.99! The price had been changed in red to $2.99! At Daniel's Antique Store you pay $36! Again shoppers, I learned a lesson! Keep on going!!!

She never asked if it worked and was not told it was in working condition. Items like this tin toy were never intended to last a lifetime and she obviously never watched the show American Pickers. She was two hours drive away at this time. She decided to keep it. If I had a way to recoup the damage and disservice she inflicted on me and my store, I would. There was the usual girl watering plants, didn't even look up to ask if we needed anything. I walked up to her and asked if they had the tree that I was looking for, she didn't even look up from watering, but said " I don't know. I haven't been here for the last 2 weeks!" She didn't even bother to put down the hose and look for the tree or even ask the owner. She just motioned where to go look. That is horrible customer service! After we went to go look, and found out that they didn't have any, we walked back out to the front & passed the same girl. Do you think that she would ask if we found what we were looking for?? No! Of course not! I honestly will not go back there! I would rather give my business to Lowe's or Home Depot.
