We parked at the Port Authority garage, which is the best option but is pricey. You board, and are directed to a deck and table number, they have three decks that can serve food and they use them as needed for the tickets sold for that cruise. You then are free to go to the buffet tables and get food as you wish. Even taking into account the cruising and show offered, the food was only okay. The mushrooms were margional, and the rare beef was only okay (oddly, the medium beef was more tasty). Drink must be paid for with a card, even soda pop, and are pricey. Staff was nice. The show was okay, it made me think of a temu Four Pops. They were trying, and decent. I ended up going on deck to watch the river go by, and going down past Belle Isle and downtown and down almost to the new bridge was the best part.

Joe served as a treasure trove of knowledge regarding the city as he provided interesting facts, historical data (and even hilarious jokes) while we traversed neighborhoods such as the affluent Boston Edison District, historic Corktown, the colorful Heidelberg Project, and many, many more. The best part was that though Joe had a planned route, he offered to customize our tour on the spot to meet our varied personal interests--a service that Joe said he provides to all his guests. For instance, Joe said that if we were interested in a particular theme, such as the Motor City's vibrant music history, he would include Hitsville USA and other prominent music sights within the city. My seven-year-old niece said she was interested in toys, which made us laugh due to its randomness, but alas, Joe guided us through the aforementioned Heidelberg Project (a neighborhood in which the houses are adorned with colorful polka dots and teddy bears) and even led us into the Fisher where we gazed upon a stunning detailed Lego replica of the skyscraper in which we were standing (see pics). Whatever your specific interests are, Joe will ensure that you leave satisfied! We also appreciated that Joe provided a well-rounded and as-unbiased-as-possible perspective of the long-troubled, yet vibrant city. For instance, when we asked Joe a specific question regarding the politically-polarizing Detroit mogul Matty Maroun, he was sure to note when his facts ventured into opinion territory. This perspective proved invaluable to the sights as well: Most visitors will have heard of and/or seen photos of Detroit's tremendous blight, but Joe also showed us breathtaking extant structures from Detroit's grandiose past and he was sure to also point out new developments in the city; we visited the decrepit remains of Michigan Central Station, but Joe also took us into the spectacular Guardian Building (Wait until Joe tells you the story about the building's roof--you'll be astonished), and Joe even showed us the wonderful new Beethoven Cafe on Third Avenue where we purchased delicious coffee and pastries. Of course, any smartphone could provide both navigation and a web browser set to Wikipedia that could guide visitors on a tour of Detroit, right? WRONG! For starters, Joe is a long-time resident of Detroit, so he provided a unique and authentic perspective of life in the city. Moreover, Joe maintains an active role in Detroit city politics and stays current on city planning; therefore, Joe provided us with fascinating information regarding the city's past, present and future that we likely could not have obtained through the internet. And if you require further proof that Joe's tour provided invaluable information, consider this: out of our group of four, all of us were born and raised in the Metro-Detroit-area and all four of us have lived in the city at one point in our lives; yet Joe still showed us new sights and provided us with a wealth of new knowledge regarding our former home. I have to say the crew was wonderful and very attentive. The food was excellent and we all enjoyed the view as the sunset. I would recommend this cruise if you had a large party of 200 or more just to have the boat all to yourselves. I do event planning on the side for some very prominent organizations and I have to say I would hire this crew to cater and to serve any day of the week.

I booked a one-time pottery class at Speckles + Splatter with my friend for her birthday - she…read morelives within walking distance of this awesome shop and this shop is in such a prime area of Dearborn - just a block down and over from downtown Dearborn and very easily accessible! I found this shop through the recommendation of another friend who had done their 6-week course here where they learned how to throw clay and then got to spend the remainder of the time just making any and all pieces to their hearts desire! For our pottery class, it was definitely very beginner and with a few more guidelines/boundaries. We were all given a certain amount of clay and led through the basics of how to shape clay on a pottery wheel. From there, we were able to shape it up into general "pot" shapes. Unfortunately, this clay/glaze/method is not food-safe, so my dreams of making a little matcha bowl for myself were dashed! But I still had a super fun time getting reacquainted with pottery after my few weeks of pottery class in my senior year of college before I realized it was going to be a bit too much for me and dropped the course LOL! NOTE: I would highly recommend not doing this class if you've got long acrylics/longer nails! My nails were at their longest length (had been growing them out for about 2 months I believe?) and it made it extremely difficult to shape the clay! The instructor is super helpful no matter what and gives you tips and workarounds for people with long nails, but I'd just recommend cutting them short (if possible) before this class as I think I would've done a way better job if I had done that with mine! All in all though, the instructor is so knowledgeable about all the potential and actual pitfalls people might make during this class and is super helpful in general in calling these out before they happen or helping you fix your clay after you do! I really enjoyed this class and I think my friend did too! Her and her husband are interested, especially given how close they live to the studio, in doing the 6-week course/membership where you can throw to your heart's content and I really hope they do that! I would easily do it too if it weren't located this far from me, but I'm over here considering it regardless of the distance because I had that great of a time!

They had a decent amount of options to choose from. It is not a quick project, so expect to spend some time here. Prices start around $25. We were told 1-2 weeks to pick up the final project. I can't wait to see it. I would go back & paint again. It would be cool for groups as well.
