I gave furniture list - 3 hutches, 2 buffet and 2 ikea billy bookcases and he tried to tell me it would be 4 movers and 4 hours of work. My 67 year old mother comes over to help me move these things and i am a 5'6 lady here. We are not big burly people. BUT YOU NEED 4 MOVERS AND $1200? He asked what i thought the job should be. I said 2 guys or even one. I CAN HELP. I just didn't have a truck or an extra human. The furniture would be outside and we would travel 3.8 miles across town to where this needed to go. Up a freight elevator to a storage unit. You can wipe my behind with $1200. I will hike these things on my back and carry them. Hang up on someone else you rude man.

I had absolutely no idea how much the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano does for our community! This place is gigantic! They are committed to providing those in need in our community with healthy food options. This place is stacked with food we are talking racks on racks on racks! From no ask drive up food donation locations, to suppling large amounts or food to shelters. There are so many ways to get involved with this nonprofit and they need all the help they can get. Upon driving up you can't help but notice that their building is HUGE! It's as big as a Costco! Tons of trailers were docked getting filled up by the many volunteers. They even had a Amazon trailer at the loading/unloading dock. There were approximately 30+ volunteers. We all gathered at the picnic tables inside the warehouse. Coffee, Tea, and snacks were provided - nice touch. We all worked together to load many boxes of food that were sent on a rolling conveyor belt with volunteers all along it. I was a team of 2 that stacked the boxes on multiple pallets before a forklift driver whisked them away. It was so awesome to be apart of. If you ever have a chance to volunteer please do so.

When they came for the inspection, Lori and her son Michael took hundreds of readings of the building's interior and exterior, and her instrument reveals where even deeply concealed lead paint lies. Because a young child lives in the building, they took extra readings to make sure that we understood any potential risks in even greater detail. Their thoroughness identified areas to maintain and to monitor and areas that pose little risk. Though highly detailed and data-driven, their report is clear and gives our contractors a roadmap to follow as they prepare their proposals for scope of work.
