Very rude staff with an uneducated doctor. I cannot stress enough the breath of the doctor gave me alcohol poisoning.

It was time to try something new after many tests and treatments that didn't heal the problem. After weekly treatments with Donna I am starting to see drastic improvement! I was skeptical when starting but I am a believer now. Plus, Donna is wonderful! She takes the time to explain why the body reacts the way it does and really goes above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. 100% recommend!

Many of those currently "doing acupuncture" in Nebraska may be highly trained in their field of study, but have only between 100 and 300 hours of training in acupuncture. Licensed Acupuncturists, on the other hand, have a 3,000 hour, 4-year Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. "Doing acupuncture" and practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine are two very different things. When looking for a practitioner with experience, knowledge and credentials to back up a perfected technique look no further than Thirteen Moons. Donna Huber meets all of the credentials you should be looking for in a practitioner, and couples all of that know-how with a fantastic personality. Worth mentioning also, she's currently one of only six licensed acupuncturists in the state. This was my first experience with acupuncture and eastern medicine (though I've always been interested). I didn't have any specific ailment when I made my appointment, so just got a general 'tune up' treatment and afterwards I felt relaxed, energized... just fantastic. EDIT: After my second appointment, I'm even more impressed. I didn't even realize how stressed out and exhausted I was until after my 'spring tune up.' Also, I just happened to be having some neck pain, and that's all fixed up now too. Good timing on that visit. Make sure you take a look at the building on the 'About Us' page of their website so you can find it... the small brick structure is very unassuming from the exterior.

The initial call in to make a reservation is warm, welcoming and beyond encouraging that you will have a fantastic experience. The customer service provided by the front desk is unlike any helpful smile. Upon arrival you will be greeted by a smell unlike anywhere else. It is a smell I yearn for one days I am not visiting the clinic. Each time your arrival is anticipated with a fresh glass of water, the door opened for you and welcoming phrase to ask how you are doing. The next best thing happens, Maureen (owner and practicing acupuncturist) greets you with a contagious smile and open arms. You walk back into the private and calming room to discuss what is going on, what you want to work on and just to do an overall check in. After the consult is over, instructions are given with what you will work on for the day. Maureen walks you through what she is doing, what specific point she is targeting and how you will see the difference once you have processed. The most glorious lavender eye pad is placed on your eyes to encourage rest while the points get to work, she leaves the room after a few deep breaths and rest begins. After a good length in time, roughly 30 minutes, Maureen comes back in the room and discusses how you feel, next steps and how to keep the benefits of acupuncture afloat post departure. I can't say enough phenomenal things about River Point, you truly need to experience it yourself. More than 5 stars in my book...!

(I've actually had another acupuncturist tell me this is overkill and unnecessary.) Treatment occurs in a very uncomfortable and impersonal "lounge". I don't about anyone else, but I want my treatments to be quiet and personal. Not in a group setting. Gross. I also feel the treatment area is no place for their child to be milling around. I don't want to be entertained by someone's kid while I'm supposed to be relaxing during my treatment. It's inappropriate and he has no business being there. Lastly, it is pretty apparent that the staff doesn't really get along that well. There is an underlying tension among them and it is uncomfortable.

I looked at a few yoga classes around my hotel and landed on "community acupuncture" as my self care of choice today. This was my first acupuncture experience and I enjoyed it. I ended up being the only person for community acupuncture but I think with other people, it still would have been a great introduction. Janice took amazing care of me (she mentioned the new moon which was something I was thinking about). She took great care of me and I truly enjoyed this experience of reflecting and some release (i shed a few tears during the "session") I came feeling chaotic and worried, I left feeling more centered and cared for. If youre new to acupuncture, I would recommend Janice and the community acupuncture. It's all going to be okay. Now put some needles in my ears.

I purchased a Groupon a while back for 4 yoga classes at this studio. I belong to another studio here in Omaha, but what attracted me was the aerial yoga classes they offered. I've done aerial yoga before, but never in Omaha and I was excited to see it offered here! The space is super clean and serene feeling. You feel like you're in a meditation area, as opposed to a gym, which I love. Big glass windows adorn one wall, so when you practice, you're staring out downtown. Exposed brick walls give the space a modern, yet cozy feeling. The studio itself a pretty small space -- for aerial yoga, only four people can sign up per class. I really liked this though ... it created an environment where we were all encouraging one another and laughing as we moved through poses. Aerial yoga can be challenging, and so having fun with it is important! Karen is the instructor for aerial yoga and she is great. Her voice is super calm and relaxing, and she's really great at helping you through the poses, regardless of how well you can do each one. I leave every class energized, but also sore... it's definitely a workout for your upper body!! There's free parking, which is awesome -- especially downtown. After class, I usually pop over to the new cute coffee shop next door for a coffee or a quick bite to eat. It's all connected, and feels very welcoming. Natural Therapy also offers a lot of other services besides yoga, and after visiting the studio and interacting with the employees, I'd be interested to see what else they do! The only con I have is that for aerial classes, you have to call in advance to sign up. I wish you could do this online, because I've spent a lot of time, calling and calling and calling when no one answers. I've had to leave voicemails (that don't always get returned), and sometimes it becomes a hassle to sign up for class. Other than that though... definitely check this place out!
