I receive my appraisals back About two weeks later. I really don't have anything negative to say about them. They were very good very thorough and useful. Then time went to a standstill. I didn't hear anything about my for repairs/adjustments until July 14. Two full months later. I didn't know if that's just how things went in Tulsa. But then I received a phone call asking me if I wanted my jewelry back. I thought that was a really weird way to let some one know their jewel repair was done so of course I hop to it and drove out there right away to pick up my repairs..... Having three charms put on a charm bracelet cost me $90. That was well done, but super pricey. One piece of jewelry that I sent in for cleaning and a small clasp repair was returned to me exactly in the same condition that I left at saying that they "don't work on James Avery pieces". Ironically, the charm bracelets were James Avery and the jewelry piece in question was not. So that made zero sense at all. They didn't even bother to clean it. No charge, but WTF? Finally my pearl restringing was done very nicely, however I had to ask about the job and they spent about 20 minutes searching through bins and shoeboxes and drawers and finally they found it. I will not be going back to Moody's or any of its offshoots and I will have to find another jewelry store in Tulsa to meet my needs. Sad.

Fool me twice... I'll give you my experience. I went in about a month ago for my first…read moreexperience, and the staff was very friendly and helpful and I got a great rate for my silver 1oz coins. Today (6/4/26) I sold a 100oz bar for $6500 when the price was $73.90/oz. It was 10:30, and they don't open til 12 during the week, but they let me in anyway. Then they quoted me $6500, and I agreed to that price without checking. Upon closer inspection, that is only 89% of the spot price -- I realized that I shouldn't have taken that price; I should have done my due diligence and looked elsewhere. I think my first impression of Tulsa Gold & Gems is that they are an honest company that "makes a little profit on a lot of sales". But now I'm not convinced that they live by that mantra. 89% is well below what most buyers will pay. Yes the staff is very friendly. But even though they are on my side of town, from now on I will not just bee-line it to this establishment; I will check prices and make sure I am well informed before thinking of selling to them. I do not consider my most recent experience to fit with my expectations of competitive buyback value; it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Spencer on July 10, 2026, around 5:30 PM after a coworker told me they had wax warmers for only $3, and how good they smelled. Since I work just a couple of doors down, I walked over excited to check them out. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from the moment I entered. Two white women and a child walked in just behind me. I was never greeted, acknowledged, or asked if I needed help. However, I could clearly hear the employees warmly greeting and interacting with the customers behind me and others who entered the store. After walking around the store twice trying to find the wax warmers, I finally had to call my coworker--the person who had recommended the store--to ask where they were located. She had to direct me to the exact spot over the phone, despite not even working there. When I found the wax warmers, I thanked her for helping me because no one in the store had offered any assistance. As a Black woman, the difference in how I was treated compared to the other customers left me feeling invisible and unwelcome. Whether intentional or not, customer service should be consistent for everyone. A simple greeting or "Can I help you find something?" would have completely changed my experience. as I got to the counter to make my purchase and the cashier asked me if I wanted to give my phone number then I communicated my disappointment in Customer Service as I was treated in the store today. To add to the irony, I ended up wasting my $3 because the wax warmers weren't even worth it. The ones from Walmart smell much better. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because every customer deserves to feel acknowledged and valued when they walk through the door. Please feel free to review your store footage as you can see that this is not a fake review. Treat all customers with dignity and respect no matter race, sex or gender.

I dropped off 5 watches for the batteries to be fixed, expecting them to get done by the next day which was Saturday. I called Saturday afternoon and no one had started working on them. I finally got them all back on Thursday after having to call and seeing what was taking so long. They let me know that my watch was missing a screw and we're fixing it. When going to Ewings they replace them that day and it takes about 5 - 10 minutes for each one. I just wish there was more communication and there was no dog poop on the mat...I love dogs but when going inside a business, the first thing I do shouldn't have to be going back outside to try and get that off my shoe....

I stopped by the shop, apprehensive because I had my kids in tow, but as soon as we walked in, a Tv show was placed on for them to watch. They had a kid-friendly area complete with toys and complimentary drinks. This local shop has thought of everything for customer comfort. I got to speak with John and he even increased his initial estimate, so I walked away with more than expected which was a delight. The real gem was how kindly we were treated (like one of the family)! Everyone was so genuine. I've worked in the customer service industry for 10+ years, and it is evident John and his family really care about their customers. They took my kids behind the counter, handed them a black light they got to use to illuminate some gems, and even let them pick out 2 gems to keep! It was the highlight of their week! When I mentioned they are homeschooled, John said any time if they ever have any questions about gems/rocks to bring them in! Thank you John and Family, you earned customers for life by us.
