I really wanted to like Bellingham Antique Mall, but unfortunately I can't recommend it…read more The biggest issue was the smell. There is an older cat in the shop, and while I absolutely love cats, it was very clear that it is urinating inside. The odor of cat urine was extremely strong and hard to ignore. It made it difficult to browse comfortably. Pricing throughout the store also felt high. I did find a few interesting items, but overall many things seemed marked well above what they're worth. The costume jewelry section was especially frustrating. I appreciated that the clerk unlocked the case and allowed me to look, but having someone stand closely beside me the entire time felt awkward; considering the position and place where we were. If the items require that level of supervision, it might make more sense to keep them in the front jewelry counter area. Which they were not using for jewelry. The cabinets being secured with visible chains throughout the store was also off-putting and added to an uncomfortable browsing experience. What truly disappointed me was the pricing and representation of the jewelry. There was a costume ring priced at $80 that appeared to be worth closer to $20. Another was marked $60 and also clearly costume. A "sterling silver" ring was priced at $115, yet there was no visible 925, STER, or STERLING stamp, no paperwork, and the citrine stone did not appear genuine. Without proper identification or documentation, those prices felt unreasonable. Between the odor and the questionable pricing, I left feeling uneasy about the value of other items in the store as well. I'm sharing this in hopes that improvements can be made, because antique shopping should feel enjoyable and trustworthy.

OK, I'm from NYC and am not used to this whole affordable antiques situation, but George at Vintage…read more360 provided me an excellent introduction. I ended up getting a great deal on a nice mid-century dining table that was missing a foot. He offered to find me a new foot, and went above and beyond to help me get it to my apartment. We've also been in touch via email, and he offered to alert me when he gets in new stuff that I'm on the look out for in my price range and style. Like, if I were back home in the city, this stuff would by 5x as much and I'd pay through the nose to rent a van to get the furniture back to my house, and no one would care that I want a mid-century bedside table with a drawer in walnut. The store is clean, well-organized, and doesn't have the dusty, oppressive, overwhelming, hoarder den, imposible-to-navigate feel of other antique shops. A must- go if you like beautiful old stuff and attentive customer service.

I had just moved into my little studio and I was looking for some things to furnish it, and I found the PERFECT dish set here. It was beautiful! The problem was, I didn't quite have the money to pay for it. Not only did he give me a discount, but he let me put a down payment on it, and I came back in a week to pick it up, and he had it all wrapped up for me to take home! Wonderful customer service, and great pieces. I will be back.

I came in looking for a dresser and e eight foot long piece of conduit... Did I stay? No, absolutely NOT. I felt like I was treated like a criminal walking in the door by the two road workers... I i am not gonna leave my purse in my car either. As I don't know, the neighborhood and who's watching. Not to mention the prices are ridiculously overpriced and cluttered. I had a similar experience many years ago. Via rude, a staff member and haven't gone back until today.Giving it a second chance. And after that experience, trust me, I'll never go there or recommend it again...

Not a good value. At one point I found what felt to be a full spray can of spray starch ( $2-3 in stores) theirs was marked $5. (!!!) I hear that they are strugglng...could it be that "everything" is too costly?

I finally did get to visit on an 'open' day but I was disappointed in the treatment I received. The woman working there was very rude. I am beyond bored at most antique stores. My wife loves them and I will cheerfully accompany her to…read morethem when I have failed to plan our route to avoid them. Ormolulu had me at Hello. The proprietors are Debbie and Jim. Their curation is amazing. Before we even entered the store, they had good music (Ray Charles) playing at appropriate volume from high quality concealed speakers. More about that in a minute. While they don't have as much guy-stuff as they do girl-stuff, they have ten times as much guy stuff as any other five antique shops I've been in. Before we talked to Debbie about whether it was OK to take pictures (it is OK), I was sneaking photos on my phone where I couldn't be seen. If you want to outfit the best man cave ever, this is the place to shop. Which brings me back to the music. Jim does clever retrofitting of radios and other pieces, putting high quality Bluetooth-capable speakers in them. So there is pleasant music throughout the shop and it's hard to tell where it's coming from. The antiques literally sing. I had a huge grin when I found the first one. I KNOW there's music coming from this wall, but from where...? They should do a lot of these and make them easily discoverable by other than curious audiophiles. I'll post some pictures soon as I get them off my phone.
