Resized engagement ring
Ezekiel B.

My engagement ring was just a bit too large, I was able to walk in and get a consultation, sizing, and have it taken in to get resized all within 20 minutes. It was ready on time 2 weeks later and they were very accommodating with letting me pick it up a few days after it was finished due to work conflicts. Fits like a glove and you can't even see any differences !

The bling, post sizing and on time!

They did two repair/modifications on my wife's wedding set. On time, on budget. Look great.

The most talented fine jewelry craftsman I know. We always recommend our friends and guests to them. Both Rod and Beth are wonderful.

We came to this pretty part of Bellingham to find some food originally and we ended up doing some…read moreshopping and walked into this place. We were greated by Russ, the owner, who created great conversation while we were looking at his store and all the interesting piece's of jewellery he had. It is a big store for one guy to watch, and he was great at letting my partner try on anything she wanted, and showed us some real cool jewellery, including the 'cat's eye' which changed color in the light. He even allowed her to walk outside to prove his point of the magical changing color stone he had. It was a real relaxed way of shopping and we found a ring that we liked, but had to think about it. He gave us his business card, wrote down everything about the ring, and said if we ever wanted it, give him a few days warning and he can have it at his store for us to pickup. He even called one of the manufacturer's of an item we were looking at, and made sure they had the correct size just to make sure he could deliver on his promise. I kept the card in my wallet, and a week later we decided we wanted the jewellery piece. Spoke to Russ over the phone who remembered us right when I spoke to him. Communication was just awesome, he kept me in the loop through email, and we were able to get the item 2 days after calling him. Russ tells you the time frame depending on the item, mine was 2, it's just depending if you run into any of those holiday weekends, and since he knows that I'm coming from the border he makes it easy. If your ever in Fairhaven, drop by this jewellery shop, to look around, browse, get a different take on some jewellery pieces as he also brings in many exotic rocks from different places, and can customize things too, like if you see a nice ring there and you have your own diamonds. The prices are really good here, and we didn't expect to find anything when we walked in, and somehow we ended up returning. I would definitely recommend Russ, and also if you need some info on where to eat in Fairhaven he will tell you where to go!

I have been a customer here for 10 years. Though I regrettably don't live in Anacortes anymore,…read morewhen visiting there this past summer, I dropped off my 25-year-old wedding ring for repairs -- serious repairs -- because I trust Phil Burton, Jr. I won't go anywhere else. My ring is best described as a 'trinity ring' because it is 3 bands in one. All of the many stones are pave' set meaning they are individually inlaid into their respective prongs. In addition to having a missing diamond, the prongs were worn down and there would be a continuous, ongoing danger of losing other diamonds because of the inability of the short prongs to hold the other tiny diamonds in place. Bob (the goldsmith) and I discussed both doing the work and not doing the work. Choosing to do the work because of my sentimental attachment to my wedding ring, I trusted him to advise which prongs should be rebuilt so as to lessen the danger of losing more diamonds in the future. The more labor, the greater the cost. Burton's does not do work quickly. I always wait longer than the estimated time to get my jewelry back. However, because I trust them to get the job done in expert fashion the work is worth the wait. If there is a delay that is becoming unreasonable, Phil usually adjusts the price on the backside and undercuts his original bid for the work, not by a lot but again, enough to reward me for the delay. In the final analysis, I have always been satisfied with the work and service performed by Burton Jewelers. I also want to give a 'shout out' to Anna Maria, a young woman perfectly suited to customer service. She listens well and then soon after my phone call gets me an answer to the question posed. Well done, Anna Maria!

I have a nice experience here working with the shop owner on creating a custom ring. I had wedding…read morerings and leftover rings from my grandparents and parents that really were not useful to me. I wanted the gold for something that would carry their memory and also be something that I would enjoy. I took all those rings and she used my gold to cast a new ring for me. The result is a very nice looking gold ring that is made up of my families gold and has my grandmothers wedding diamond in it. And I wear it regularly and really enjoy it and enjoy the memory of where it came from.

Edited to respond to the owners condescension: Based off…read morethis reply I think the style of customer service speaks for itself. Saying I was happy with the option to use a clasp as opposed to a weld shows the lack of awareness. I was not thrilled but had promised my 8 year old and drove 30 min for the appointment so felt stuck. Very quickly after I initially contacted you with concerns, my daughter's bracelet fell off and was unfortunately lost. You offered to re-weld mine but about a week later prior to being able to even consider making arrangements to come back for a re-weld mine also fell off and I've been unable to locate it. The reason for this review now is because Yelp suggested your establishment, and yes I would still be bothered when I spent $100 on now missing jewelry shortly after purchase. I've since had a new one placed on myself without ANY issues. It's welded very strongly. And I got my daughter a bracelet with a clasp that is age appropriate and it's remained on through school, sports and normal 8 year old activities without issue. Sorry to upset you with factual details of your products and services. Your clasp was obviously subpar as was your welding skills. Why would I come back to have you weld it again when your welding abilities didn't last even a month? I suggest kindly touching grass. Original review: Got a "permanent" bracelet that fell off within the month. Should have just ordered a bracelet elsewhere. They clearly don't know how to weld correctly. Their customer service needs work as well.

The quality of antiques here was very good. Some antique malls are in giant warehouse buildings…read morethat are uncomfortable, but this place had a great working AC. It wasn't like so many other antique malls that just have Americana. Prices were a little high, and there was no haggling to be had, and I generally don't trust antique shops that have all firm prices across-the-board. It makes me feel like it's not a real antique dealer situation. But overall, it was a great experience.

I really wanted to like Bellingham Antique Mall, but unfortunately I can't recommend it…read more The biggest issue was the smell. There is an older cat in the shop, and while I absolutely love cats, it was very clear that it is urinating inside. The odor of cat urine was extremely strong and hard to ignore. It made it difficult to browse comfortably. Pricing throughout the store also felt high. I did find a few interesting items, but overall many things seemed marked well above what they're worth. The costume jewelry section was especially frustrating. I appreciated that the clerk unlocked the case and allowed me to look, but having someone stand closely beside me the entire time felt awkward; considering the position and place where we were. If the items require that level of supervision, it might make more sense to keep them in the front jewelry counter area. Which they were not using for jewelry. The cabinets being secured with visible chains throughout the store was also off-putting and added to an uncomfortable browsing experience. What truly disappointed me was the pricing and representation of the jewelry. There was a costume ring priced at $80 that appeared to be worth closer to $20. Another was marked $60 and also clearly costume. A "sterling silver" ring was priced at $115, yet there was no visible 925, STER, or STERLING stamp, no paperwork, and the citrine stone did not appear genuine. Without proper identification or documentation, those prices felt unreasonable. Between the odor and the questionable pricing, I left feeling uneasy about the value of other items in the store as well. I'm sharing this in hopes that improvements can be made, because antique shopping should feel enjoyable and trustworthy.
