On top of that, they'll charge you $50.00 just to return your own tax documents, as well as be extraordinarily difficult about providing a simple answer regarding tax liabilities they go out of their way to ensure you incur just to ratchet up their fees. I asked if he reviewed our 2025 tax return (one of the key reasons for the visit) having had it prepared quickly by a chain firm I had no confidence in. He stated that not only did he not review the return as requested, but that his computer didn't work. Then he proceeded to make a phone call to deal with his personal auto insurance. I am not one for big fancy offices, but his office was an unorganized mess. You could not even see him from across his desk with all the computers (I guess all non working?) he had on his desk. We left his office once he called his auto insurance company. As the client (well almost) it was clear we were not the priority. He may well be a competent CPA but his actions elicited no confidence. If you are looking for a new CPA, as we are, look elsewhere.
