Patrick, the owner knows his stuff. Very Professional, in the transmission world most of these shops are bullshit. I have brought 3 cars to him so far, he has fixed them all read more

Do not recommend for the public with personal cars. Fleet work may be different. This guy mis diagnosed my jeep for a 5000 repair. Asked him to fix a simple 4wd issue on old jeep. Got it home didnt work. Bring your car here if you are ready to spend 5000 or up! You wont leave for less. At the time I had my cars with him he was locking up non payers in the front of his shop. No worth the hassle. read more

GMC dealer referred me to Dial transmission, and I am thankful they did. Pat was diagnosed the problem right away. He honestly told me it could take several weeks for my extended warranty company to come through with their inspections and agree to replacing my transmission. And it did, two weeks to agree and 3 weeks lead time to get the tranny. Pat kept me informed all the way along and had my truck programmed and back to me 4 days after the tranny was delivered. No extra fees or addons at time of pick up. My kind of repair shop! read more

These guys are the best. They are super honest and reliable. I highly recommend this repair shop. PS...The owner is a really nice guy. :)

Good old fashioned honest shop with great communication. My 70 Mustang had a drip that i was nursing for a long time. I didnt want to deal with these places so i ignored it until it got to the point where the drip turned to a puddle. I didnt know where to go. My body shop recommended Pat. Last time the tranny was overhauled was 30 years ago. Pat could have sold me a new tranny hook line and sinker which is what i was expecting to hear. all it was, was a leaking seal. he did some internal adjustments and normal service while it was on the lift. also did some unrelated work while i had it there. all for a good price. had the car back in 2 days. I already recommended this shop to a friend who is also happy. read more

My Car needed transmission work and I had feared it would cost thousands of dollars. Pat and his experience told me to not to get ahead of things. I was referred to Dial Transmissions by my local GMC dealership. They were an absolute pleasure to work with. They took my car in and tried a few things before confirming I needed my transmission rebuilt. They worked with my schedule when it came time to do the actual rebuilding. They were completely transparent on what they would be charging. And they credited me for the initial work up. I would highly recommend them. read more

My car has over 175,000 miles and I was in need of a new transmission control module. My father worked for RVC and suggested taking my car to Dial because that's where the town takes all their trucks. I spoke with Patrick on the phone & told him what the problem was with the car & he informed me it probably was the TCM. He quoted me a price for the new TCM (it was the same price as what I found online) & labor. I dropped my car off Tuesday after work & picked my car up the next day after work. Patrick was super knowledgeable, fast & fair with the price. Car is working great! Thanks!! read more

I read a couple of Pat's review's - at Dial Transmission- forget 5 Stars - this was a 10! I am on LI visiting and have trans fluid leaking everywhere- stopped at a local station - Teddy said go see Pat - he will take care of you - 1/2 mile down on the left - can't miss it ... on we go QUALITY- he got us in immediately- explained everything- no surprises- chatted w/ my uncle and I - busted chops a bit (biggest things about moving from the island 20 years ago) They got us on our way back to Pittsburgh- just got in now- safe w/ the family! Had to send this review to express my gratitude. QUALITY service... QUALITY individual! Huge thanks to Pat and his mechanic- I cannot recommend him to enough people- he turned a potential disaster into a great experience! read more

We have used Dial Transmissions on 2 occasions. I have to say that Patrick is honest, reliable, fair and quick. I brought my Jeep to the dealer and they wanted twice the amount of money. I dropped my car off at Dial Transmissions on a Sunday, Monday Patrick called me with the diagnosis and price and my car was ready that Friday. If you are looking for an honest, reliable mechanic look no further. Would definitely recommend. read more

I brought my 68c10 Chevy pickup to Dial. I wanted to put in a bigger transmission. Pat (owner) suggested options and worked within my budget. I couldn't be happier. Honest and competent The first time in a long time that I felt that repairs were done correctly to my truck. Friendly owner who explained all repair work so that I knew what was happening. Prices were more than fair. They are not looking to get the last dollar out of you. More than $1500 less than the dealer quoted me. If you need repair work go here. You will not be disappointed. The shop is real busy for a reason read more

Quick, professional, and honest. Pat and his team fixed my transmission quickly and said yes when other shops didn't want the complicated job. My transmission was fixed perfectly. He even checked everything to see if anything else was wrong but said that all was good. I'm sure we all loved Banner and hope Chris/Steve and their crew are well. Today I found a new transmission shop. I met Pat for the 1st time at Dial Transmission in Merrick and was extremely impressed with his knowledge and professional approach to what turned out to be a fairly minor problem with my 1982 step van. (I did not know it was a minor problem). If you were happy with Banner I assure you, you will be as happy with Pat/Frank and their crew John O. read more

It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Pat at Dial. He was honest, reliable, and inexpensive. Toyota quoted me $5800 for a job that Dial did for $1200. 2003 sprinter truck experiencing transmission issues, brought it to a "transimission specialist" who told me it would be $975 just to drop the transmission and diagnose the problem. That did not sound like the right course of action to me. Going off a recommendation from a friend, I called Pat at Dial Transmission. I explained to him what I was told by the previous shop and he assured me that you don't need to drop a transmission to diagnose it. Long story short, for less than the amount the other shop wanted to charge me to diagnose the issue, my transmission was fixed in a timely manner. Thank you Pat, you have a customer for life. -Matt read more

This place is great. I had them put in a LSD on my stang. I ordered the LSD from another company and they shipped it with a C clip missing and cheap bearings. The guys at Dial where very patient with me while I struggled to get the new parts ordered. Dial got me New American made high quality bearings. Very happy with the service read more

I was recently referred to Pat at Dial Transmission for what I thought was a blown transmission on my 2008 Acura TL with 190k miles. Luck was on my side and it was only a broken Axel. I met with Pat and his shop manager, Frank, and couldn't have been more happy. Didn't try to push or oversell work that I didn't need. If ever broken down locally or within reasonable towing distance, I would highly recommend Dial Transmission. They do everything from major transmissions to minor brake jobs. Honest guys doing great work at fair prices. read more

Brought my 1970 Torino in for a rebuild. Trans had major leaks and was very sluggish through the gears. Had all the leaks repaired, transmission rebuilt and they made up new steel lines for the transmission cooler and vent tube. Car shifts great now and no more leaks. And they did it for almost $300 less than the original estimate. I highly recommend them and I would bring my other cars here if needed. read more

Dial Transmissions is the place to go if your car is in need of transmission service. Pat (owner) and Johnny (transmission technician) worked tirelessly to handle and salve the issues surrounding my transmission, which subsequently kept locking up in third gear. Ultimately they determined it was a faulty pressure solonoid as well as the inner wiring harness that was causing my transmission to lock up. I highly recommend Dial Transmissions to anyone looking to repair or service their transmission. Two thumbs up! read more

I bought my 07 charger in because I had a check engine light on. Pat checked the car and it had a third cylinder misfire. He found out I needed new spark plugs an a coil that needed replacing.
