I'm impressed with their communication, helpfulness and quality of work. Coming from a referral, I reached out to Machutta and Son for a quote, Steve's initial consultation sold me, he's professional and takes the time needed to walk through the job and understand your needs and also points out any challenges or concerns. He gave suggestions on paint color, provided samples and painted those samples on the house for us to review. He and his crew worked with us on scheduling and executed the job in a timely manner. Thank you Steve.

In Spring 2022, Steve & crew came out to paint my home, sand & recaulk some areas of the siding,…read morethe wood frames around my windows & garage which was splitting & peeling off paint. My house was 17 yo then. While I got 2 other quotes, Steve offered the best price. I hired him. My house appeared to be nicely painted at first. I rarely use my backyard. Back in 2024, I was working in yard & noticed virtually all the windows' weepholes were closed up by heavy paint. Anybody who watches construction videos knows those weepholes need to stay open to allow rain water to seep out. I had to go all around my home & slice through the thick layers of paint & reopen them all up with a small knife. All my windows were like that. I looked up to see the attic soffits also were partially covered with heavy paint--it wasn't really bad, but no paint should cover those vents up at all. It's important to keep them open for proper attic venting. (I would only learn all of this after watching home inspectors commenting on problems they found on newly built homes from YT. I never owned a single family dwelling before.) I then went around my home last fall to find the wood framing has split apart already around all my windows & garage frame. I don't know that they even caulked all that area I thought they did back in 2022. I was excited initially, but time is showing Steve & crew didn't do their job properly. NOT happy. I can't recommend.

A.S. Coatings painted the exterior of our 2-story home and detached garage, in addition to fencing,…read morestair risers, and the stack on top of the garage. They did a fantastic job on our property and that of at least three of our neighbors, one of whom has a 3-story home. The owner, Ardell, and his team (2 - 3 people) arrived on time each day and promptly started working, and each day they tidied up before leaving. They stayed with our job until it was complete, unlike some contractors who will start a job then leave in the middle to go work on another project and come back later to finish yours. The first day (8-29-20) was prep and clean day. They took great care with our property, beginning with removing light fixtures and décor, moving outdoor pots and furniture, and raking gravel away from the sides of the house and garage. They also protected our neighbor's property by covering the garden plants which abut our garage. The next step was power washing the exterior. Prepping and cleaning took about a half day, and since the next day was Sunday, there was plenty of time for the exterior to dry before painting began on Monday. Painting included the base color and trim. On the last day, I did a walk-through and pointed out a few very minor places for trim touch-up, which they promptly painted. The project was completed on Thursday, 9-3-20. Throughout the project Ardell's team worked efficiently and were always courteous and personable, and were cognizant of our HOA's rules regarding work hours and parking. If you have a need for quality paint work, you will not be disappointed with A.S. Coatings; I highly recommend them to anyone wanting the exterior of their home or business painted with unmatched workmanship. A.S. Coatings 775-219-9385 (call or text) ardelljerayeshaw@gmail.com
