We took the overnight ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo and booked a top of the line cabin in the Commodore class to add a bit of comfort and privacy.
I booked it months in advance just to be safe and chose one of the more expensive cabins -one of just a handful with an outside balcony. Our room was on the 11th (tip) deck at the front and our corner room had a large window facing front and another on the boats port side and a door and balcony with a table and two chairs. The bed and room were comfortable and it was great to be able to go outside for photos as we left Copenhagen and when we got to the Oslo Fjords. Since we were traveling between anyway-this slightly slower route provided a little break in our hectic itinerary.
We had dinner and breakfast (both prepaid) on the boat and our cabin class came with access to a private lounge with a few bar snacks and drinks. The boat also features duty free shopping and has several dining options. As it was summer, there we a lot of families heading to Norway on holiday with camper vans and family vehicles in the hold.
If you have time, this is a low stress way to get between the two capitals and see a bit of scenery along the way too. read more
