Traveling to the UP today, and and suddenly started hearing a noise that sounded like a flat tire…read more Pulled over and couldn't figure it out, so we googled and found Autotech. In about three minutes, they had the problem diagnosed. The front bottom engine cover had come loose, and was flapping in the wind. They had us back up and on the road in about 15 minutes. They were super nice and helpful, even throwing the tires back on the car they were working on and moving it off the lift, so they could get us fixed. A $20 bill was all they charged. These guys are by far the best auto repair place in mid Michigan area ! I've taken two trucks to…read morethem and had major repairs done. One had 4wd problems & one shop here in Harrison was quoting $1000 before they even started. These did a complete exam & charged me less than $100 to fix a simple repair. The other truck was a different story, I just had a truck rebuilt & had spent big money from front to back rebuilds. The rear diff was going bad & I knew it was gonna cost me. Looked around & was getting prices around $2000 and that was on putting a used one in from a junkyard. Took it to these guys & got the whole thing rebuilt for less than a grand. Also my rebuilt engine was springing all kinds of leaks including a rear main seal . The place I had the work done was in the Detroit area. Knowing they didn't do a great job the first time & already taking it back twice, I called Lake to see what they could do. As always, he took great care of me , actually replaced almost every gasket in the engine & fixed it right the first time. I work in an auto parts store, so I deal with shops everyday. One thing I can tell you, if you can find a good shop that isn't looking to over charge you, your lucky. Not only do they guys charge a better than fair rate, their work is top notch . That's the reason I felt compelled to leave this review, not only to give these guys their due but to help people find a good repair place . Can't say how lucky I was to find them !!!!!

Kind. Courteous. Professional…read more On my way to the UP with 3 kids, one of my tires started losing air...at 5 pm on a Friday of course. I called ahead after finding Upper Lakes' info and explained my situation to the gentleman who answered. He told me to keep driving and he would hold some of his crew past closing time (if needed) to make sure we wouldn't be stranded. As promised, when I pulled up, he and 3 other guys were waiting. They promptly pulled my tire off to start inspecting it for leaks while also checking all of the other tires. A faulty valve stem was discovered and everything was broken down and repaired in a short amount of time. All the while, the whole crew chatted with my 2 toddlers who had already had enough car seat time at that point. Soon, we were back in the truck and headed North. The guys at Upper Lakes have my greatest appreciation and thanks. If they treat a pass through customer this way, I can only imagine the service provided to their routine customers! Thank you again!
