EXCEPT a newborn session !! IDK why that never crossed my mind, but apparently those are scheduled MONTHS in advance to ensure there is a spot reserved when the time comes ! I had no idea the window for a newborn is so small (it's like a 12 day window or something like that) so they must be done right away. Timing is critical ! After a few tries of reaching out to photographers, I was referred by Holly Heine to Julie Irene ! & I am SO glad she pointed me in her direction !! Right off the bat I was amazed at her work (I am a photographer myself, so I am very picky !!!!). Julie's work does not scream tacky JCPenny photo session. You can tell right away that every session is unique & catered to ones individual style ~ I just LOVE that !!! I felt very confident upon booking the session with her & was excited. We ended up doing a family session & I added the make up artist onto the package (worth it in my opinion, when you're a new mom getting ready is an impossible task sleep deprived !). The clothing she provides from her prop room for your little one are all hand made by herself & so adorable & timeless. When it was time to go take a look at the photos (a couple weeks later), I was amazed. She had so many options, it was a bit overwhelming but she made it easy to help narrow it down. Our package included a folio box which is an awesome investment ! It is sitting in our living room today. She also sends high res jpegs so you can get those printed on your own at a lab which is awesome. Photos are so important to me, they solidify the memories making them eternal. So yes Julie Irene I'd 10000% recommend. The fact she took me in last minute is amazing !!! She was so patient with scheduling us, the first day we couldn't make it & she could of charged some sort of fee but didn't. She is very patient, & understanding ! For my 1st son we went through a different company as it was during the peak Covid-19 pandemic so I had opted for an in home session. I found Julie after a lot of researching online. Immediately fell in love with her work. Reached out to her to see if I could get more info regarding the newborn session. Her assistant called, left me a voicemail along with a follow up email. Unfortunately, I was unable to get back to her for about 2 months because I was still working full time and had a toddler to take care of so time got the best of me. When I did reach back out to her assistant I did not get a response after leaving a voicemail and email. I was still very interested in working with Julie so tried one last time to get in contact via her website. Julie herself immediately responded to me and apologized. Was so glad to hear from her. We were able to get a date/time for us to go to her studio for a quick meeting so she could go over the process, available packages and give us a tour of her studio. Love her studio and loved meeting her as well! She is super sweet and her studio is so spacious. One of the rooms also has bins of toys to keep toddlers preoccupied while she works with the newborn(s). After the meeting I knew I wanted her to do the newborn session for my 2nd son so I signed the contract. After my son was born I let her know our expected go home date and we scheduled for the session about 10 days out. Everything went smoothly day of the session. I had paid a small extra fee to have her hair & makeup girl doll me up as well. She made me look pretty as I was already sleep deprived with a newborn lol. Julie also has boppy and breastfeeding pillows so you can comfortably nurse your newborn to sleep for the photo session. Julie and her assistant were great with both our newborn and toddler. The photos came out amazing and the album we purchased is absolutely beautiful. We are so happy to have had Julie do our 2nd son's newborn session.

The parking lot is consistently busy, so finding a spot can be a hit or miss. Ambiance/Environment: The studio is located inside the AR Gallery. Once you enter the AR Gallery, you'll see the studio on your right. They have an extremely small space with two rooms. One room features white walls, and the other room features colored backgrounds. There's many props from headbands and hats to chairs and stools and more! Some props can use a cleaning, but you can't really see it in the photos. Service: I decided to do a walk-in, so I didn't book an appointment or prepay online. They only take walk-ins starting at 11:30. They're not busy on weekdays but busier during the weekends. I completely forgot his name, but the worker that checked me in was nice, efficient, and knowledgable about the offerings. They provide a large screen with gridlines, lighting, and a small remote. They'll give you a timer, so you'll know exactly how much time you have left during your session. Studio Session & Photos: I chose the 5 minute session with the colored background. You'd choose two colors out of five options. Since I chose the colored walls, let the worker know when you're ready to switch colors. They'll pause the timer, switch the background, and continue the timer. The small remote is easy to hide in the photos. The lighting is perfect, and the photos came out amazing! He is incredibly friendly, easy going, and knowledgeable. We agreed to do an engagement session, 1 location for 90mins to see if we'd be comfortable working with James. It couldn't have gone better. The time flew by and we actually ended up going to a second location with a wardrobe change. Overall, it was about 2 hours. James did not mind at all. James was kind enough to print a large poster and sign that shipped to our house in just a few days. He price matched any package/prints from other photographers.
