Terrible university overall. The person who enrolled me at this Merrillville campus, registered me as someone else with the same name. Wouldn't you think they'd check to make sure. What is the point of assigning everyone a unique D number. Ended up missing the entire first week of classes until they finally corrected it. Most of all though, this school will completely screw up your financial aid. They have totally unskilled people in the financial aid counselor positions. They have ZERO experience handling money or finances. Usually just former students who kissed butt enough to get a job with the school when they could not find a job with one of Devry's crummy degrees. Think of it, these are the people controlling your money and where it goes. By the time my final semester came around, I was told I was all paid up and ready to graduate. Two weeks before graduation, I was sent a bill for over $4000!! They told me there was a miscalculation in the allocation of my financial aid SEVEN months prior. You must have a zero balance before starting each semester (which is stupid). It took them SEVEN months to realize the error. Worst part, is they wouldn't graduate me, and give me my diploma until the balance was paid. Since I could no longer apply for financial aid due to no longer being enrolled in classes (since this happened after the fact of my last semester), it took me three months to finally come up WITH MY OWN MONEY, and pay them. Only had a 20 hr part time job at the time. Much of the remaining balance ended up on a high interest credit card since I couldn't find employment in the field I had my degree in until graduating. This ended up on me having to pay a significant amount of money in interest as well. This could have all been covered by financial aid if they had done their job correctly. In the end, I suffered large financial difficulties due to their error, and they suffered nothing. I have made it my goal to steer as many people as possible away from this university. My goal is 29 people, at an average of $35,000 per degree program, that would end up being $1 million dollars I will have cost them. So far, my story has turned away five people. They caused some of the worst troubles in my life, and I am hell bent on them paying for it where it counts. In their wallet. Most of all, DO NOT believe the huge marketing and advertising push this university makes. I believed all the commercial, internet, and print ads. Don't believe it. When a school has to push that hard to say how great they are, it should raise the red flag. Unfortunately, I bought the hype. Look elsewhere. read more
