The phone sometimes is not answered during open office hours? Last week I needed a prescription sent to a new pharmacy and I could not reach anyone at the north Dayton office. The phone was answered by a person at the Centerville. The person I spoke to was helpful but told me it would be week before the person that writes prescriptions returns to work on Jan 6. I get that it is the holidays! At this point I am out of medications and hoping I can get it delivered this week.

The Main Street office is inconsiderate when it comes to calling in prescriptions. It's incredibly disappointing to have had my entire view of Dayton Family Practice change in a…read moresingle day after being a happy patient of Dr. Zach's for four years. Dr. Zach has been an empathetic, attentive doctor who took the time to understand issues, from mental health to more complex needs, and truly felt invested in my care. I would have rated the practice 5 stars without hesitation--until today. Today, I received a letter, along with my medical records, essentially informing me that I was no longer welcome as a patient. Confused and upset, I called the office, and a staff member told me it was because I had "missed too many appointments." This was the first I'd heard of it. When I asked how they had notified me, I was told their "policy" was to call two days prior to an appointment. Yet, the staff member couldn't confirm if or when they actually tried to reach me or who had called. No specifics, just a policy repeated without any empathy or understanding of my history with the practice. When I asked if there was any way to resolve the situation--pay a fee, set up an alternative arrangement--the answer was a flat "no." After years as a loyal patient, I was essentially reduced to just a number in their system, and my family was left without a primary care provider overnight. If you're looking for a practice that values patients as individuals, Dayton Family Practice may not be the right choice. They may provide great care while you're in their good graces, but as soon as there's any minor issue, their bureaucracy can swiftly and coldly cut you off without any room for discussion or understanding. Truly disappointing.

He…read morewas always very helpful and let me choose what path I thought would be best when dealing with my mental health medications. He'd give pros and cons of changing my medication regiment and I really appreciated that he let me be in control of my health decisions. The staff were always a little bit touchy and rude but nothing extreme. Anyway, I called last week to schedule an appointment. They were able to get me in the following Monday. Monday rolls around and they call me at around 8 or 9am to ask if I'd prefer a 2:00 appointment as opposed to my 4:45 one. I said sure. Took a nap, forgetting that my appointment had be changed. Whoops, accidents happen... or so I thought. I called to reschedule and they gave me a new appointment at 2pm Wednesday (today). When I called to confirm the appointment time just a min ago, they told me they had actually decided to not see me as a patient any longer for missing ONE appointment. I'm so upset. I go to this place primarily for my SSRI meds to treat my anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder and now I'm going to have to find a completely new doctor. That could take months, especially if I end up wanting to schedule with a psychiatrist this time, which is likely. That means I'll likely have no one to prescribe me my necessary medications for months. The meds that quite literally keep me sane. I think it's pretty messed up they'd just drop me as a patient like that over one missed appointment. Would be a 1 star but because Dr. Z Denka is pretty cool, 2 seemed appropriate.

I don't normally leave reviews, but after the 2 hour waste of my time yesterday I feel I need to…read more I was referred here, and provided MRI paperwork showing physical issues going on in my joints. Other records were sent over as well. My appointment was made last week. I arrived to it yesterday and checked in. After 1 hour and 45 minutes plus hearing and watching someone check in after me AND get called back, I asked if I had been forgotten. Another 15 minute wait and someone came out, pulled me into the main lobby outside of the office to tell me Dr. Hanna Badreddine decides yesterday that she would be refusing to see me due to a fibromyalgia evaluation being on my referral. Despite the referral and MRI stating I was there for arthropathy and other physical issues. No one bothered to let me know, and she couldn't be bothered to see me until I asked what was up. I'm not sure who I'm more frustrated with the office or her.

When you don't live down the street from their office, that's a little harder to do. I'm tired of having to work around their "rescheduling" because they don't know how to run an office correctly. I've never dealt with an office that constantly calls to reschedule an appointment. Usually its the patient calling to reschedule. I'm starting to think my $$ isn't worth their time.

I can wear my hearing aids without discomfort. I would recommend Dr. Darrell Balazs to anyone without any reservation. Dr. Darrell is knowledgeable and keeps up to date on current treatments. He will tell you if you need treatment and will not recommend any unnecessary treatment.
