Good old King James was a Saint and loved Bacon. This stadium was named after his fave meal. (St…read more James' Pork).
First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I had a nice little show in a living room in Exeter and afterwards, I checked out a midweek evening game at this stadium. I was so surprised!
First of all, I got there near the end, and they let me in for a massively reduced rate. I don't think that's normal though. Secondly, they were absolutely lovely about it. Thirdly, the fans and stadium are awesome! Slightly out of date hence the 4, but one of the best little club stadiums I've been to. That was 2011 and I haven't been back for a game since, though I did stop by here in 2014.
I look forward to seeing a second - full - game here as soon as possible.
I've been to most UK & US stadiums, due to lifelong obsessions with travel, sport & especially footy (soccer to Americans). Born & raised in England, I followed Oxford United (hometown team) to stadia all over the country at away games, and later Liverpool (fave team) around. Every stadium review - like all my reviews - are from first-hand personal experience, usually from several visits. In 2011, I was on music tour in the UK, and visited most stadiums for fun in my spare time. As recently as Fall 2014, when I was "stuck" in UK for 3 months, I went to hundreds yet again while travelling. I have pictures of me at most, which I'll post later. Also, when back in UK I'll take more pix, and add more stadia!

It has the same name as Newcastle's stadium but is significantly less impressive, out in the west country, less than 10k capacity, leafy and green with some Exeter buildings around it.
There is a railway station right next to the ground. Before it was a stadium, it was used as a farm for fattening pigs. And with the pies served at half time, it basically still has the same use.
According to the original lease, the stadium is allowed "no menageries, shows, circuses or steam roundabouts". Which makes it bizarre that they even play football there.
The stadium is cute, and it's connected to lots of celebs who are fans, and Michael Jackson was once introduced to the fans here as a director by Uri Geller.
All that aside, it's not one of the more impressive stadiums in the league but all the nice red and white paint bumps it up from a 3 to a 4 star ground.
