A horrible place I went there was seated. OK it wasn't that bad. They started going through my teeth. Why was blood everywhere? Blood was going out of the tube and they drilled a hole in my tooth talking about. Oh it's a bad cavity. I went to Destiny Dental in Lansing, Il for dentures today. I was super nervous as I have terrible anxiety. I'm usually a horrible patient. However, I could not believe how wonderful my visit. Literally, everyone there made me feel so good and so comfortable. I'm 60 years old and have been to many dental offices over the years but this place is top of the line. They were so nice and very sincere about making my experience a good one. I'm in love with these people. I want to be the poster child for Destiny Dental. Don't go here !!!! I went for my annual cleaning they examined my teeth. No X-rays or nothing and it was my first time with them. They looked at my teeth and said i need a deep cleaning which was not necessary. They sent me home and claimed to call me within a week for my cleaning. It's been 6 months since I've heard back. ‼PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE CAREFULLY‼ On 02/03/2022 I went into Destiny Dental for a scheduled Root Canal procedure. 5 days prior to this procedure on 01/31/2022, I noticed swelling or puffiness around the base (Top of gums underneath my lip) of the tooth. I immediately called Destiny Dental out of precautionary measures to inform them in case their was something that needed to be done beforehand. WithMonday being the start of the week I figured at the latest Tuesday or Wednesday would be the latest on a call back. NOT AT ALL! I called Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday seeking answers for this concern. The ONLY call I received was a confirmation of my appointment, THE DAY OF, hours before scheduled time. I spoke to Jenna and she informed me that their wasn't anything in the notes. Nor were there any messages left to inform the Dentist of my concern. When I got called back to be seen. I immediately informed the assistant AND the Dentist (Jennifer Niemzyk) before I signed the consent form. The Dentist reassured me that she reviewed my X-rays and that the puffiness wasn't a concern. Against my better judgement I entrusted in this soo called professionals words of calm. After the completion of the procedure, again, I asked Dr. Niemzyk if there were any do's or do not do's as an after care precaution. I wanted to be sure that I did not cause any disruption in the healing process. She again assured me that I was over thinking and she would proscribe Amoxicillin to help with any pain and swelling that could be caused by an infection (Which she never explains how this is possible). After two days of taking the Amoxicillin, the swelling and pain started to increase. After the third day I was awakened in the early morning by this excruciating pressure to the same tooth. When I got up to look at the tooth. I noticed that above the tooth(Where the lip and gums meet) had the looks of a cyst or an abscess above the tooth. On February 7, 2022 I received a phone call from Destiny Dental Office. Informing me that this said procedure was done INCORRECTLY! I asked this gentleman how could this happen and who was this noticed by? The receptionist informed me that the auditor who reviews all work done at days end through X-rays, noticed the negligent and reckless work. Not done on just my mouth but on 3 others! THE SAME DAY I RECEIVED THE CALL. I asked the gentleman how is this going to be handled. He stated that he would have to speak with his manager to find out course of action. I was informed that they would write a referral for the work to be done by someone else. I left a message requesting to speak with this manager as soon as possible but to no avail I still haven't had any correspondence with anyone. I have yet to receive a phone call or email pertaining to this matter. Today is February 10, 2022 and what now looks to be an abscess tooth, is now starting to drain. I woke up this morning and the same tooth, with the swelling {That I was assured was ok by the Dentist} is now beginning to drain a white mucus, mixed with blood, from this same tooth. I am aware that this review is only an opinion from my experience. However, I encourage you all that read this, to be thorough in asking questions and concerns about your health when dealing with this establishment. It is truly saddening that NOT ONLY was work not done correctly, but I now have to find someone to do the work because they are letting the Dentist leave (Per the receptionist) without any actual accountability. REVIEWS SHOULD SPEAK VOLUMES OF THIS ESTABLISHMENTS PROFESSIONALISM AND BRASS. The negligence SHOULD NOT be overlooked. Today I did a walk in at 9:25am due to my attempts in calling the office (they opened at 9am) multiple times and someone picking up the phone and hanging it back up. I spoke with the office manager, Angie and expressed my concern. She replied that we were in a meeting and didn't want the meeting disturbed so she kept hanging up the phone. I was appalled by her response. I asked her, wouldn't the most appropriate thing to do was to answer and ask if I could call back within 15 mins as to when their meeting would be over. She got defensive and said she wasn't going to go back and forth with me. I said you shouldn't, just apologize for your rudeness and unprofessionalism displayed to me. Certain people shouldn't be in leadership as clearly Angie should NOT be. I've always been trained that the customer or patient is always write and you want to do everything in your power to make the pa comfortable and pleased. Two words to describe this dentist "Ghetto dentist". For some bad reason I decided to try another dentist. Since I was a new patient here they gave me 18 x-rays right off the bat to check my teeth. The dentist came in, and said "You have a lot of tartar on your teeth". I knew I had some but not much. I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months so there could not be that much tartar. Anyway, the dentist there said I would need a "deep cleaning". The deep cleaning would be $95 per session for 4 sessions. That would total $380! I thought that sounded like a scam and I felt it was not necessary. I got an appointment with my regular dentist, they examined my teeth and said my teeth were fine. I would only need a regular cleaning. In fact my regular dentist said my teeth were in good shape. So since I got the 18 X-rays from Destiny Dental, I figured I would just pick my X-Rays up from Destiny Dental and bring them to my other dentist. Destiny Dental would not give me a disk of my X-Rays (my records) to give to my other dentist. Destiny Dental only gave me a really low resolution xerox copy of all my x-rays on one sheet of paper. What a joke. I am not going near this ghetto dentist anymore. They are scam artists that tried to get $380 from me for an unnecessary deep cleaning. read more

I will never go here again. A friend recommended this place but he did say he does not go to this one. He goes to the one in indiana and he loves it. So I decided to give this one a try for me and my son since it was so close to our home. Our appointment was on march 3rd, 2021. Let me get right to it we caught covid. My son has asthma so I cut out everything. So he continues to do e-learning and he has not been to any of his practices because of covid. Again we don't go anywhere and I put off going to doctor or dentist for awhole year because of it. So I decided it was time to do our check up and cleaning since I was told their taking precautions. That was not the case at all. We get there they were a hr behind. Then when we get called to come to the back the assistant was taking out the utensils with no gloves. Something told me to just walk out of there but I'm like no I'm over thinking it. Floors had crap everywhere, no paper on the seats. Anywho So she sits the tools down on the counter nothing on there to sit the things in. Then she tells me she's doing the cleaning which I'm use to my son dentist doing that at our old place but she said they do it. Which she did it so quickly so at this point people from the other rooms are just walking past, kids running around playing. Someone starts washing their hands and she sits a cup of mouth wash there for my son to use, and says to wash his mouth out with it. I'm no there's someone washing hands there with the mouth wash sitting there. I knew I should've left but I didn't. I regret staying. So the dentist comes in and he does my cleaning. He was upset talking about how someone keep scheduling all these patients etc, etc. Rushed on my teeth was very rough and didn't care that I was in pain while he was cleaning. I get it. Work can be stressful, But don't take it out on us and half ass out service. So much more to this but you get it. Now me and my son are home sick as ever on quarantine trying to fight this. I got paper work and all. I still can't believe we went all this time not catching it, to go to the dentist and catch it is beyond me. read more

this place sucks.!!!!..you can literally have any appointment and still sit for 2.5 hours in the waiting area/car (due to covid). but once they call you and put you in a room. thats a shorter wait...only 1.5 hours. like why even bother scheduling appointments if we still have to spend half our day here... like really. after today me nor my children will be back. i rather take the drive to my old dentist. not to mention the customer service is not great at all. your body language and face expectations speaks volumes!!!! read more

This is my second time bringing my child to the Lansing location. About 3 weeks ago after a check up, we were told my child needed two small fillings. The first visit was not good as far as the front desk/ check in- very rude an unprofessional. I had to wait about 50 minutes before being seen. When I got to the dentist she seemed fine ( knowledgeable/professional). So, I didn't write a review giving them the benefit of the doubt due to COVID-19. Today, I had to wait over 2 hours for my child to be seen. When we finally got to the back, I was agitated, but trying to make the best of it. Then my child had to wait in the dentist chair for another entire hour! I'm not sure their method of booking appointments, but this is beyond ridiculous. With COVID-19, and safety issues they should book fewer clients further apart, not jam a bunch of appointments together. I am 1000% sure, I will NEVER go there with my children again-EVER. They are simply being greedy for money. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. I came for location/convenience, it was anything but convenient. I visited this place several times before for a cleaning.(its near my job) Tuesday i had unbearable pain in my teeth. I called to asked can I come in that day. I was told no because, I was using state insurance, and that I would have to make an appointment for another day. Tried to explain to the girl that i have insurance through my job, so my insurance was not state insurance. long story short called a different dentist office in my area they were able to see me immediately. It makes me upset that some people have to deal with service like this during an emergency due to them having state insurance. I don't understand why people give them bad reviews because I've been bringing my two kids there for many years. I have never had any problems or issues with the staff or Dental assistants, dentists or anyone from there. Everyone has always been very accommodating, and the dentists are very sensitive to their patients. I'm very happy with the care they give to my children because they were afraid of the dentist after they had a bad experience with a different place. They care about my kids, no matter my insurance, I'm treated very well. I can't say enough good things about Destiny Dental as a whole down to each person who works there. I don't personally know anyone there so this is a objective review. They truly care about my kids and their dental needs. Anyone giving a bad review might want to look in the mirror and check if they have any type of attitude or Pre conceived thoughts about how they deal with the public. Being curious will always get you a long way. If you walk into or call any establishment with an argumentative or negative attitude you're asking for respect that you're not giving the people trying to help you. It's difficult to deal with the general public and not every customer/patient has the respect for themselves and that shows when you are dealing with other people. I'm not saying that they are perfect and every negative post is unwarranted but I'm telling you that I have been going there for years and I have never had a negative experience or have never felt anything but welcomed and cared for.
