    Paella Valenciana - single serving
    Wei C.

Best thing about this place is that they let you order one paella portion (as opposed to minimum 2 from other places) I think as long as the other people on your party have an entree. We got nachos as appetizers that were OK, everything tasted store bought, from the chips to the meat to the guacamole and the cream. My husband got the gourmet burger which was good, just wished that it wasn't regular burger bun because Spain has such good bread. And I got paella Valenciana. This one was better than I had in other places and the lemon wasn't overpowering flavor when I squeezed into the rice. Also has a good view to the ocean and thankfully the day we went was a clear day so the sky and the ocean were blue.

    Interior picture toward sea.

Above average Mediterranean Restaurant on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in Valencia, Spain. The restaurant has Tapas options, Paella options, Burgers, Pizza, and a full bar. Lighting throughout the restaurant and bar are color changing mood lights that add to the overall white interior. Staff is helpful, prompt, and try to ensure you're taken care of. Price for Paella is a little less expensive than it's neighbors and the infamous La Pepica. The dessert menu is good. I had the mango ice cream which was 3 scoops for €5.50. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area. I recommend.

Concierge, reception staff, wait staff, host and hostesses all speak English. They also have an on-site parking garage (priced around 18E a night). The staff was friendly, helpful, and provided great recommendations. The rooms were large, luxurious, and very comfortable. The location was great for a beach getaway as you open right up to a stunning fountain as you head to the beach. There are a number of restaurants all within walking distance and many of the main stops are a quick taxi or drive away. Las Arenas can be expensive, but it is certainly worthwhile in the offseason (we went in early October), where you can still get beach and pool weather, the property is less crowded, and prices are a steal!

Arriving without a reservation on a Saturday, we were seated without a wait; service was welcoming, quick, and very friendly. Tip: The starter we chose (with advice from our server) was the steamed mussels. As our server had said, we found that a single portion was more than enough for two to share. We also enjoyed several cocktails with our meal that day; my favorite by far was the Pumpkin amuse - delicious! For our main, we shared the fillet of ray (tronco rodaballo). This dish was beautiful to look at, with a taste profile that bordered on distilled awesomeness :-) Bottom line: Fabulous views, excellent service, and wonderful food made our experience here one that I look forward to repeating. While the prices for bread, wine, and coffee were a bit on the high side, the overall cost of our meal was more than reasonable given the quality of the food and the service.
