It was tricky to find their address and parking-- there's a little side street just past the bistro that you go down. But once we got there, it was smooth sailing and we were actually able to depart early... and didn't have to return early. The staff were helpful, efficient and clearly knew what they were doing. The boat itself was in good shape and ran well for the short trip to Crab Island.

(Harbor-walks boats are 2021 to 2026 and these were 2013. For the same price, and getting Lily pad($50) for free and being able to stay out longer I chose to go with them. Hindsight, I would've gone to Harborwalk!). We got there at 11 AM and they just told us to have the boat back by 6pm. I called at 4 PM to tell them that we were headed back in. My husband dropped my son and I off at the dock where we are staying and we took all of our stuff. He drove the boat back and just drove our car home. They then hounded him for tips and extra money because we stayed out there one hour longer. My husband told them that he didn't have a credit card or Venmo and didn't have his cell phone and so they were very happy to call me. They called asking me for more money. Extra Tips, etc. Never Again! None of the gauges worked on the boat and they were really worn and battered. The lily pad had holes cut in it as well, but we still had fun. If you do rent from them, get a video of them promising you that you can stay out longer for free. Worked for me! It was Nick that tried the bait and switch! Just a heads up!!!

Told us we would have to "jiggle" the key until it caught in the ignition if we wanted to start it. About 5 minutes into the drive one of the doors fell off as well. After we had docked and tried to move to a different location we could not get the boat started, then the key proceeded to break off in the ignition. We tried 3 times to call and no one answered so we had to somehow get it started. Took it back to try and reason with them but they did nothing but accuse us of damaging the boat. Only used the boat for 3 hours of our full day and they said they would let us use another boat to finish the day only if they had one available but didn't offer to give us money back and charged us an extra $100 on top of our reservation for the broken key that "wasn't covered under the damage protection" that we paid extra for. Manager was incredibly rude and would not even be somewhat reasonable with us. Would not go back, would give 0 stars if possible.

We were on the water within 12 minutes! Everyone was so friendly--the gentleman at check-in even drove the boat out and docked it for us because of the tight parking spot. The prices were VERY reasonable, and Crab Island was only 3 minutes from the dock. My kids loved it, and there was no pet fee, so our Rottweiler got to join the fun too! They even provided a complimentary JBL speaker and a wagon to haul our things back to the car. Couldn't have asked for a smoother experience. 100% recommend!

Since we've rented boats here before, we appreciated that the safety briefing was shortened and focused on the essentials rather than making us sit through the entire presentation again. That said, it would have been helpful to clearly remind returning customers about the exact navigation boundaries and where boating is not permitted. Our 25ft pontoon boat was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for a relaxing day around Destin Harbor and Crab Island. However, part of the bimini top was torn and flapped loudly in the wind throughout the day. The Bluetooth radio also didn't work. We've experienced that on previous rentals as well, so perhaps it is intentionally disabled, but if that's the case it would be good to communicate that upfront. The biggest disappointment was the pricing transparency. The advertised rental price looks attractive, but then a 4% "Village Fee" and an additional 2.5% "Operational Cost Fee" are added before sales tax. An operational cost fee feels particularly difficult to justify, as operational costs should already be included in the advertised price. By the time all fees and taxes are added, a rental advertised at $345 ends up costing about $427. That leaves customers feeling misled and takes away from an otherwise enjoyable experience. Overall, we had a great day on the water and the staff was professional and pleasant. Improving the condition of some equipment and being more transparent about the true rental cost would make the experience even better.
