My kids went to this school for a whole year and didn't know what 1+1 or 2+2 was when I asked them. They were 5 and 3 and the time. I felt like a horrible parent but God sent me Metropolitan Christian Academy (daycare center) and my kids are with real educators that care. My 4 year old knows all 66 books of the bible and he's being interviewed for the talented and gifted program. Desoto private is a joke, if you want your kids to have fun everyday please sign up they go to the skating ring, trampoline park and movies 3 days a week. But your kids will be dumb as a box of rocks and after working a full shift at work you will have 5-7 pages of homework a week for a 5 year old. Just because they're white doesn't mean they're doing right. I was told by a dear friend that the kids that went to Desoto private aren't learning anything but I had to learn the hard way, but if I can save another child/parent time and money I've done my job. Mr. Larson said the attendance numbers have dropped significantly but the quality of the instruction has remained unfailing. Great instructors! This school is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! The teachers are rude and disrespectful to students and parents and there is an extremely racist undertone. Whoever Ms Lowe is, is OUT OF CONTROL. She's extremely childish and doesn't behave in a mature way. I brought my niece to a Valentine's Day dance and called a week prior to confirm I can bring my two year and was told by Chris at the front desk, this wasn't an issue- even after he put me on hold to confirm. As soon as I arrive to the dance, she makes a comment not to me, but to my niece who came and told me they want us to leave. Ms. Lowe passes by me and makes a comment to keep my two yr old off the dance floor and the dance was intended for students only- which I'm aware to not let a toddler onto a dance floor of rowdy children, in the first place. It was made no mention there was a parents room or anything. I let her know I'm aware and she walks off. Shortly after, I see her speaking with the officer volunteering as security at the dance and pointing at me. I go over to speak with them both and let her know I called beforehand a week ago and specifically said I would like to bring my two year old and before I could finish my sentence, she states "well you were told wrong lady!" And puts her hand in my face, in front of the officer! I told her don't put your hand in my face and she does it again, closer! Absolutely childish and disrespectful! I spoke with the officer a few minutes because she stormed off like a child and he agreed I wasn't rude and she was out of line for how she acted and I was still asked to leave, which isn't a problem- I don't want to be in such a rude environment anyways, but now my niece has to leave because I'm her ride, because the adult teacher is throwing a temper tantrum?? Absolutely insane! I will NEVER recommend this school to anyone, or bring my children here. There is adamant bullying taking place at this school and nothing is ever done about it, especially if the bully's involved are the children and grandchildren of the owners. They don't know how to treat or speak to people and education is not a priority, as other private schools in this area are learning far more than this institution and being treated with respect! This school doesn't even serve lunch to the students and expects you to pay a large tuition monthly and meanwhile, the teachers will do and act as they please, without repercussions to their actions. Is this even an accredited institution?!?! This school was inherited from the respected owners, by their children and it clearly shows no formal training or passion in childcare and education, has taken place! If you care anything about your children, PLEASE do not send your children to this school! If you can even call it a school. read more
