Loads from the US and Paris too. It's priced accordingly, but not terrifyingly high end. I lucked out by looking at winter wear when one half of the store was all 50% off and scored myself a nice jacket at half price. The girls in the store are lovely and really helpful without being pushy. Bonus if Winnie the Whippet is in store to have a sneaky cuddle with. Look for her camouflaged in her bed up the back by the heater!

Stocking everything from Ancient Greek Goddess sandals to keypad covers for your mac, gorgeous clothes from around the world to jewellery conversation starters made by some sisters in Queensland - you will be impressed by Laine. But quality stock is not the only thing Laine has going for it, the other key attraction to this store is the friendly assistance and guidance provided by it's lovely owner, Alyce. Oh and her sweet pooch Winnie is there to help too! There is no website or mailing list yet but you can get your fix of new arrivals from the Laine facebook page, even make an order from the photos for some items. There are items to suit all budgets and styles. Must go now, I have shopping to do.

Personally I have never purchased anything here, but I do like to pop my head in from time to time to see whats new. The clothing isnt really my style, but there are some great going out outfits and casual outfits that are quintessential Melbournian- Classic yet fashion forward. The sales staff are good at putting together whole outfits, and the beauty of an independent store is that the owner is often there, and therefore cares about the customer. That is evident here, and the main reason I will always have a look, just to see if there is anything for me.

Even…read morethough I can't really afford anything in this shop (nothing is below $200), every trip I find something I like. The quality of the fashion at Lee Matthews does justify the price. I remember getting some hand me downs from my dear sister who decided that she has gone off white! So I inherited all her white fashion and one of my favourites was a Lee Matthews long sleeve v, neck blouse in such a soft cotton that I never wanted to take it off. I eventually did of course... But since then I've also inherited a couple more things from this awesome store. Among my favourites are a scarf with a cape (which I can't wait to wear next winter or when I travel to Europe next - whichever comes first) and two cardigans in super soft wool. The summer range in store looks fantastic, with an awesome range of flowy dresses, flirty tops and cool A-line skirts, perfect for the hot season. And surprisingly, the super fashion-conscious people that work at the High Street store are laid back and down to earth - a prized attitude which other high end shops should adopt.

They sort the clothing by gender and type of clothing, with regular ongoing sales on certain items. The prices were quite fair for the selection and quality of stuff they have. The shop is located along the iconic Chapel Street, where there's lots of weird vintage shops and eclectic clothing shops, so I figured this would be a good place to scope out some weird clothes. Storehouse didn't disappoint! They had ugly Christmas sweaters on display, and all kinds of old stuff. They not only sell clothes, but have plates, dishes, cups, bowls, and some cookware. They've got a good selection of old books at cheap prices, so if you leave the book on the train, it's not a big deal. The staff was on the ball, running the register and answering questions.
