Why, oh why didn't I do it sooner?? I was greeted by the fresh-faced Sarah whose enthusiasm was contagious! I was left alone to browse (love that!!) and wished I had more than 2 eyes to take in everything that the store had to offer. From stunning artworks, to Adelaide Hills-made candles, to pottery; throw rugs; THE most gorgeous cushions EVER; little knick-knacky things that you just so have to buy; swinging love-chairs; vases; table lamps and oil burners. I could go on - but that'd spoil it for you! One of the things that I loved about Design Revival is that they source as much as possible locally - and are very proud of that fact. And so they should be. Adelaide is filled to the brim with amazing talent and the more places that that can be showcased the better in my humble opinion. Anyway - even if you're not passing by - make the effort. It's SO worth it.

There's plenty of items to choose from, and lots of adorable knick knacks to be found. If I'm in the area it's definitely my first choice when I need gift cards and stationary, or I just want some new awesome home decor. Everything is cheap as well. The store is pretty sweet. The theme is aimed towards casual home decor and not restricted to the indoors, but with class and entices the customer to take a piece of it home with them. There are some gorgeous pieces in here from paper weights to huge mirrors made to look like a window! I was so tempted to buy one just for the sake of it but the practical side of my brain talked me out of it. Several beautiful ornate candle stick holders take pride of place and stand with authority, whilst the under foliage of trinkets and whimsy items surround them. A well organised placement of items for the customer to easily browse through and no hidden price tags. Also in the store are some antique oriental pieces of furniture which blend in very nicely with the rest of the decor and whilst the theme is aimed on the oriental side, I feel it doesn't show it to full extent as it's a little watered down with modern items made to look old. But I can definitely pick up on the Moorish side of it as there are lanterns galore inside and outside. I can really see these hanging out under my balcony but problem is I'd have to deck out the rest of it to tie in with them. Yes it is a haven for interior decorators even the layman for inspiration and ideas with the strong possibility of a purchase!

I love poking around this store to see what's new, and to laugh at my old favourites. There are a few china models of cows dresses up as ladies that always make me laugh, and a set of three bunnies doing the "See No Evil" routine. Bunnies? Genius! They also sell very detailed printed paper, which could be expensive wrapping paper or used to line books or boxes, or as card decorations. This store makes me happy, because it's every changing, ever interesting.

The shop assistant was nice and didn't come across as in your face, and she didn't watch you as you walked around, she remained busy whilst still making an effort with customers. This shop is ideal for design lovers, and anyone who loves quirky new things. Also if you are looking for a small gift for someone, this is the place to come. Little Bird will definitely not disappoint; I love it already!

But seriously, if you DO own a house, and it isn't already polluted with furniture, come buy ALL your stuff here. That way your house will all be matching. And it'll fit a kind of beachy theme. If you live by the beach (I officially hate you, you greedy, house-owning bastard), it's all the more perfect. But to be fair, you can't furnish your entire house with Little Bird's stock. It's more of an... accessory store. So you don't need to throw out all your furniture. Keep it. Just accessorise. I don't like cluttering up my room, which is already cluttered with piles of books and scrunched up bits of notepaper, so I'd never get anything from a store like this in my current condition of living. But as soon as I'm able to leave the nest, I'll be paying this store a visit.

Two awesome black shadow box frames with a circular silver medallion inside each one, I can see where they would look good in my house, but alas I need three to make it visually pleasing. Decorative fruit bowls, lots of silver coloured items in any format, coasters and placemats, candle stick holders, table runners, vases, etc. In the very back of the shop it leans towards a retro theme with oranges and wood tones. I love the Stressless range of chairs with ottoman, it's soooo comfy, snuggly and wonderful in winter, settle in with a favourite book or magazine, hot cocoa on the side table..ahhhh. (Yeah I'm a winter person). Yes prices are more expensive but it's definitely reflected in the quality, durability and can be passed down in the family to continue serving its purpose. As we leisurely stroll through this store, with eyes wide open, I cannot help thinking we need a bigger house for us to purchase more furniture. We have shopped in this store for over five years, always found the prices competitive, with staff very knowledgable and helpful. We visit and enjoy a coffee in their Cafe regularly, to return and view the increasing range of modern and traditional style furniture, always with the latest colour and up to date accessories, outdoor furniture and bathroom ware, all with very affordable pricing, just amazing.

Now located a few shops down the Regent Arcade from their Renew Adelaide pop-up, the store has settled in and the Arcade's vibe suits it well. Stocking the hand poured Zuki & Boo soy candles in some truly delectable scents, this is my primary reason for swinging by. I'm a real lover of a 'natural' smelling candle (as opposed to the saccharine qualities many other scented candles give off) and this stock is top notch. Available is different glass jar sizes and also available poured in a tea cup (with the saucer to match), they make great presents for yourself or others. My current fave is Bergamot & Banksia but the Coffee Bean is just right to get your day started (I work night shift so burning candles after waking is perfectly acceptable at 6pm!). Check the candle 'menu' for some potential favourites and the staff can let you know when they become available (or pour some for you). The store also has a beautiful array of posies and floral arrangements with the ladies happy to create a floral arrangement to your colour palette or floral taste for an excellent price, however I can never go past the gorgeous bouquets often sitting in the store front (and often so cheap!). Succulents at various stages of growth and in an array of pots plus terrariums can be picked up and once again, all very reasonably priced. Other assorted soft furnishings are available, cushions and throws, as well as some stationery and assorted homewares. A great place to find a gift for yourself. I'm a fan.

It's like a florist for the young and funky where you can grab terrerium pieces planted into clever little pots, glasses, teapots and large jars. Being a fiend for cacti and succulents I went absolutely bananas over the place and was stoked the owner shared my enthusiasm for her awesome little shop! There was so much I wanted to buy but budget limitations meant I just left with a large jar with some little leafy babies inside for the bargain price of $45 (so little considering it has five little varieties included). VERY well priced and lovely woman I want to come back and grab a teapot with some scented candles next time I'm in town for sure so please leave me one haha... so make sure to check it out!
