Aaron, the owner of Carolina Custom Closets, completely impressed us from the start. His background in mechanical engineering clearly shows in the way he approaches design and functionality. During our consultation, he asked thoughtful questions and offered creative, practical solutions that no other company had even considered. His pricing was very competitive, but what truly stood out was the quality of the product and craftsmanship. The installation team, John and Rod, were professional, personable, and brought decades of cabinetry experience to the project. The attention to detail was exceptional. Even the drawers are made from real walnut wood, which not only looks beautiful but smells amazing. We were so impressed with the overall quality, value, and customer experience that we've already scheduled three additional closet projects over the next few weeks. Building a room from the ground up required her factoring in my capabilities with my disabilities. She knows my need for accessibility, and what my desires were concerning the colors and style of the space. The benefit in building a room from the beginning is that you can make the drawers and the cabinets exactly the way you want. She knew my needs and the vision, and she helped to make it happen. That is a rare thing to find. When you find it (that person who understands you) you definitely want to hold on to it. Melissa is that person you want to hold onto whom will help you with decluttering and organizing your whole house. Even as I continue to age, I want to hold on to her so that my children will not encounter a giant mess when I pass away. Everything will be labeled and they'll know this is their box from when they were in kindergarten through elementary school. They'll know these are all the family photos and that I've gone through it and organized for them. It won't be as big of a chore as what I encountered with my mom. In conclusion, when you have your home organized with a professional organizer, it's easier to maintain. Each thing has a home and it's easier to put that thing back where it lives; when things don't have a specific home, that's when they begin to pile up. I was feeling pressured to decide paint colors by my remodeling crew, so I found this place & scheduled an immediate consultation. I brought samples of my bath vanity granite, flooring & tile & phone pictures of the whole space. I wanted colors to "flow" from room to room. The designer (Jo Howell) merely confirmed what I had already selected, plus trying to get me to change window treatments & add wallpaper. What suggestions she had for kitchen tile & granite did not improve anything. (In fact, she wanted to know where I got my LVP flooring & bath granite!) She didn't even know what the "light reflective value" score meant, on the paint chip, & had to ask someone else. (the REAL decorator, perhaps?!) All this for $180 ($120/hr-- I only stayed an hour) I felt I was taken advantage of, despite her "nice" demeanor. If you are relocating to Wilmington, you might want to avoid this place.

Styles include: bicycles, arrows, boats, wood, glass, ships, nautical in general, beer and wine (accessories, not the drinks). The coolest feature of the store was the old walk in vault. The building used to be a bank. The back side of the door is visible so you can ogle the locking mechanisms and bars and stuff. The room is several degrees cooler than the rest of the building. The space above just up the stairs is also very nook-y and has a sun-room feel with windows in the ceiling giving a big sky view. Even if you're not planning to buy (we didn't, prices were a bit steep) you should stop in and check the place out.
