Not to mention I had a blast! Thank you Ryan, Yvonne, Stacey Upchurch, Mary Anne and Anne for all of your knowledge, expertise! I'm looking forward to going back to Avante Laser Training Institute for Laser Vein Reduction, IPL Photofacial and Tattoo Removal seminar courses!

I must say that it was an experience. Pleasant for the most part, but definitely an experience…read more There are no signs around the address. When I got there, for my 9am appt, no one was prepared. I got the paperwork & Debbie (the instructor) got stuck on the phone (all the while making the talking hand motion to me & rolling her eyes), until after 9:20. (Keep in mind that I was there for a full Brazilian laser hair removal.) Once I was excourted to the room, it was the actual classsroom. 3 long tables for students with the table for me & the equiptment, front & center in the room. I was then informed that THREE students would be doing my laser treatment, in sections. I was taken aback, but Debbie assured me that no other students would be entering the room, once I was undressed & undergoing the procedure. (She was mistaken). The ladies all stepped out for me to disrobe & returned in a few minutes. Before they could get started, one of them kicked the plug out of the socket, so they had to recalibrate the laser. In my past experience, parts to be lasered were wiped down with a sterile solution, but they proceeded with out, so I asked about it & was told that unless the client is unclean, they usually don't bother with that. Then most of the actual treatmet when well. I have ZERO pain tolerance, but they worked with me very well (most of them admitting how they handled their own treatments - everything from valum to swearing loudly) & in under an hour my treatment was finished. At one point, another student did open the door & walk in. The doos has an arm above, so it took several seconds to close on it's own. This student who was not part of my treatment crew made no apologies, nore did she try to make an effort to actually close the door behind her. Yes, it was very painful at 1st, but as I told them what hurt & where, they accomated me with adding an ice pack, sonogram gel, & the chiller. I booked my next appointment in 6 weeks, so from this very admittedly anxious patient with no pain tolerance at all, just know that I am so grateful for the recommendation & plan to ultimately have all of the areas that I currently shave lasered at this location.

I have been going to the Institute of Cosmetology, Esthetics & Massage for years for facials,…read morenails and massage and have generally had very positive experiences, which makes this situation especially disappointing. During my last massage appointment in March, the student assigned to me mentioned being exhausted and dealing with a death in the family. I sympathized with her situation, but unfortunately the massage itself involved very little pressure and did not help relieve the tension in my back muscles. When I requested deeper tissue work, she brought out a massage gadget instead of using her hands. I specifically requested a traditional hand massage without gadgets or elbows, but the session still did not feel therapeutic or effective. One concern I have is that the school requires clients to complete feedback forms directly in front of the student, which discourages honest feedback and makes clients uncomfortable expressing concerns openly. After the appointment, I politely informed the front desk that I did not feel I had received much of a massage. I was told someone would contact me. Instead, the only follow-up I received was a call canceling my next appointment, which had been scheduled with a different student. I called back twice afterward and received no response. Today, when I finally spoke with the owner, I was shocked by how condescending and dismissive the conversation became. Instead of listening, she talked over me and lectured me as if I were one of her students, or even worse, a misbehaving child. Rather than listening to a long-time client or offering a simple courtesy massage or any kind of gesture to resolve the issue, she spoke to me in a belittling and reprimanding manner. She even stated that I should be able to afford a $120 massage elsewhere and told me not to return for services. Insult upon insult. Don't ass-u-me a client is "poor" if he or she comes to your school. Without clients, your students could not complete their training. I get regular massages from my massage therapist of 15 years every other week. I came to your school because she is usually overbooked. At no point was I angry or disrespectful. I simply provided honest feedback after years of supporting the business. The experience left me feeling humiliated by a place that is supposed to help people feel relaxed, cared for, and valued. I feel offended and demoralized. There are many schools and businesses that welcome constructive feedback professionally and treat loyal clients with kindness and respect. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect those values. Notice how the owner was quick to reiterate that this is a school, yes, I know. Raising your voice, talking over me and demeaning me solidified this fact in concrete. You were not professional at all. This school is also regulated. As a German, I return to Europe every summer. It seems a trip to visit a dear friend in Zurich is long overdue. Maybe CIDESCO can clarify this incident.

The training here is so thorough and so consistent that one cannot help having a good experience…read more I've been coming here for years for facials. Even though this is a school and the student estheticians are at different stages of their training, I have always had a satisfying facial.

I had such a great experience here!! I was actually 10 mins late because I took the wrong exit. And…read morethey were nice enough to still do my hair! I would have totally understood if they needed to reschedule. My hair was so thirsty and dry! I purchased a Groupon for a hair cut, style and your choice of a treatment. I went with the moisture treatment obviously because I really needed it! All of this for only $20! You can't beat that price! Since this is the Paul Mitchell School, students will be cutting and styling your hair. They have teachers there to keep an eye on them. The teachers will sign off before the student begins to make sure everyone is on the same page. I remember signing a waiver as well. The student who was assigned to me was fantastic! Her name is Jessica. She was sweet, friendly, patient and a perfectionist. She really took her time on my hair which I really appreciate! I was there for 3 hours. But I also have A LOT of hair. And the moisture treatment took over 30 mins. Jessica was such a joy!! She will make an awesome stylist!! I wasn't able to tip the student on the bill but you can bring cash. I was there so long so I inadvertently forgot to give her a tip! I feel terrible! But we exchanged numbers so I will be giving her a tip next time I see her. There was another stylist with red hair that was very friendly too. I don't remember her name though. Overall, this was an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone! Their prices are phenomenal. They also sell Paul Mitchell products too. Thank you Jessica for doing such an excellent job! You're a sweetheart!

I have super thin hair so I don't think it should've taken that long and I wish the instructors stepped in to help knowing that it was taking a very long time. My hair was done very choppy and each instructor said it was okay... when it wasn't. Only Mr. Jones stopped and really talked with me which I appreciated. I went to Ulta to get it fixed right after.
