We used Desert Landscaping for our back and front yards. We were given a quote and then told that they under quoted us by $1200 and wondered if we would pay it. Of course, we said no. Then they over quoted us for the front yard. We've had a pallet of pavers sitting in our front yard for over a month now. They refuse to respond to texts and refuse to return phone calls. Also, my wife has been calling Matt to fix the issues with one of the plants they laid that is currently dying. I tried calling them today, Friday, but no answer. I'm thinking about selling the pavers to recoup some loss. They did really good work, but the work they did in the front yard was not the work we agreed to. They changed our design without asking, and when I noticed, it was too late to fix it. read more

Desert Valley's crew did a wonderful job on my back yard and finished in a timely manner. They installed turf, decorative rock, and a paver walkway. Very happy with all the work done and was quoted for a reasonable price. read more

We had Desert Valley Lanscaping come out for an estimate in March 2022. A day or so later we paid a deposit and were told that there crew was about 6 weeks out. At one month I contacted them and was told it would be around 6 weeks or sooner. At 6 weeks I contacted Neal. He then told me it would be another 3-4 weeks! I cancelled at that point and received my deposit back, but it was unfortunate that we were strung along all that time. I found Neal to have a careless demeanor when I finally fired them. Within a week we hired a licensed contractor that is doing a beautiful job. Our new contractor had the pavers ready for our job, when Neal tried to tell me that no one had pavers and that is why it would be another 3-4 weeks. My question is why did they take my deposit 6 weeks earlier and didn't order the supplies needed at that time? A side note, this company also did our front landscaping for our builder and we were cheated out of two 5 gal trees. The deal was that they would replace one small tree with another, so of course that did not happen. Sorry that our builder or HOA is not watching this more closely. They also planted a palm in our yard that is not allowed by the HOA. I did finally get one tree added and they replaced the palm with another plant, but only after I had to gripe. If they cannot honor private customers then they should not be taking deposits 6 weeks in advance. Sorry Desert Valley Landscaping, but I cannot give you anything besides a 1 star. read more

At approx four PM today, 9/5/18, just after I turned on to I-19 from I-10 heading south, a Desert Valley Landscaping truck in the next lane and slightly ahead dumped a bunch of rocks. Wasnt happy with the work done on our back yard very unprofessional, they sent a guy to do our irrigation system who had never done it before and they were telling him step by step instructions over the phone not surprising really when my back yard flooded the next day, my patio also isnt level... wouldnt recommend this company at all read more

These people are useless (Myrna), and do reflect all the bad reviews. I'm not sure how they stay in business with their level of customer service. Can't return phone calls! Not sure why DR Horton uses them. read more

Irrigation is leaking, pavers won't stay flat, and they won't back up there work. Going with a local handyman to fix what they did wrong.

We are very greatful to Desert Valley Landscaping for their great teamwork in our behalf. It takes people who care to do a good job. Landscaping is hard work and Juan and Happy did a very nice job on our yard, in spite of the extreme heat. They were "real troopers.". Thanks to Dusty and Neal, also, who were great at helping us figure out what to do. This is Pulte's contractor of choice for their homes' front yards. My boyfriend and I, in building a new home, wanted two specific trees for our yard. First and foremost, we had no qualms PAYING someone to give us our desired trees; we knew if we had no contact with the landscapers they'd put in what was standard, a mesquite and/or palo verde, which we did not want. Prior to move in, we had contact with Neal from Desert Valley, who told us not to select any specific front yard package through Pulte and that he would give us those two specific trees at no cost contingent upon us writing a good review of DV (based on my rating, you can already tell where this is headed). That seems a bit of a shady solicitation, but I have no problem providing a good review if a company does good work. I write unsolicited reviews frequently, because I rely on consumer reviews to make purchases. But whatever, you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. From that moment, we've gotten nothing but runaround from DV and what little work they did do for us (the front yard contracted through Pulte) is sloppy, unfinished, and frankly a disgrace to this business and throughout our neighborhood. Upon move in, we found a randomly tossed selection of desert plants and two willow trees. One willow was planted on a slope and had a large mound built up around it. I later learned from a reputable gardener from Green Things that DV's crew had built the mound around that tree because they were too lazy to dig it deep enough into the ground. He told me that tree, as well as the one very shallowly planted in our courtyard, would surely have died. A few homes in our neighborhood have trees with large mounds built up around them as such. After several calls with Neal, who frequently dodged us, he reneged and said he was unable to give us the trees we asked for, but if we agreed to go with DV to landscape our backyard, he would "fix" our front yard for free, which is even shadier than the first proposition. And that wasn't actually true either! We had Neal come out and give us a quote for the backyard. He admitted in looking at the front that DV had done a sloppy job and that we were missing some boulders which should have been used to cover exposed pipes. He said DV could finally swap out the trees with what we originally asked, but it would cost us to redo the other plants or add river rock/riprap. So they wouldn't be "fixing" our front yard for free, another false promise. Because we'd been given such a runaround, my boyfriend was very forward in saying we would hire a competitor for the backyard unless DV came in much lower on their quote, and they didn't. Not to mention, the estimate was sent more than one week after it was promised. We told Neal we wouldn't be needing him for the backyard but wanted DV to take care of some remaining problems with the front yard. Apparently, Neal wanted to be the one to kick us to the curb, so after hearing we wouldn't be using him, he texted my boyfriend refusing service to us, which is honestly laughable. "You can't break up with ME; I'm breaking up with YOU!" Neal doesn't have the authority to promise free things and shouldn't do it, because it makes the company appear slimy and dishonest. We were unfairly solicited a couple of times in dealing with DV. And beside all of Neal's smarmy dealings, DV is not getting our backyard contract because their workers did such a quick, careless job on the front, which is what everyone actually sees when they first look at a home! read more

Reasonable prices, but flaky. Prices on gravel were so reasonable I thought I'd hire them to finish all of the work. Tired of messing with it every weekend, wanted the work done so I can move on. Estimator was 40 minutes late, never turned off the truck, took no measurements, offered no ideas, gone in less than 10 minutes . . . Have not heard from him since. Wasted my time. Flaky . . . Better to know now than after you pay out your cash. Don't waste your time with them. All the online reviews pretty much reflect my experience with them. read more

These guys did a nice job as far as the work goes. Looks great. The service afterword not good at all. I have already called them 5 times asking them to fix our irrigation and replace some dead plants. I've been getting the run around for a month now. They are currently working in our area doing new stuff. Once they have your money, your on your own. They told us we had a 1 year warranty on all plants. Can not recommend this company high enough. They bid a job at half the price as everyone else and did the work beautifully. We had our backyard COMPLETELY gutted including two huge mesquite trees. The worked our plans perfectly. Their brick guy does some of the best work I have ever seen. He even went around and patched our wall and home edge where the mesquite roots damaged the structures. Very happy with the work done by Desert Valley Landscaping, They did the landscaping for the front of our new house and it is/was excellent. We had them do an estimate to 'customize' our back yard. The estimator/salesman (Tom D) did an excellent job in designing a job that required very little 'tweaking' on our part and was within our budget. Dylan (the job super, I guess you'd call him) kept us abreast of the work as the job progressed. The hardscape guys (NG custom BBQ, fire pit and pavers) did an excellent job, as did the guys who did the remainder of the landscaping...dirt mounds, gravel, boulders, plants, irrigation, etc. We couldn't be more pleased with the job, and would recommend them if you want a quality job. read more

I called Desert Valley several weeks after our backyard was done to add a small piece of irrigation. Our sales rep, Neal, contacted me quickly and answered all my calls and texts. The work was completed less than a week after I notified them. Neal even raked the rocks into a square for me. I was trying to push back the rocks to form a dog area, this wasn't part of the original work request. FYI, working with landscape rocks is very hard work. We will be using Desert Valley Landscaping again and highly recommend them. Yes, I have seen the negative reviews but I know the company has changed since receiving those reviews. read more

HORRIBLE landscaper! The owner, George, overcharged me to landscape a small area, then when his irrigation system broke and my water ran out into the street for who knows how long, he DENIED it was his work and said it was old irrigation lines. When I physically had the broken parts in my hand and they were brand new. My water bill went up $225 because of his incompetent workmanship. I would stay as far away from this landscaper as possible. He doesn't even deserve to be in business. The worst part about it is, when I tried to communicate to him about this, all he would do is come up with excuse after excuse and dismiss me. I had to hire another landscaper to fix and repair his mess, even though I paid Desert Valley in full for the shoddy work that he did. read more

I cannot recommend this company at all. Once I told them I would accept their bid communication changed. They were not responsive to calls or emails and after setting up one meeting for 6:30 a.m., to accommodate my work schedule, did not bother to show up. An hour later I received a text message saying someone else would arrive between 8:30 and 9:00, 2 hours after the time agreed upon. I was told that I would receive samples of pavers on a particular day, only to receive a message that they would be dropped of on the employee's way home from work or on his way in to work the next day. By the next afternoon I still have not seen the samples or a call saying they would be late. It is my opinion but this told me that DVL was not interested in customer service. If this is how they treat a new customer how would they handle any customer concerns about dead plants or leaks in the irrigation system? I called and left a message that I would no longer need their services and was told the owner would call me back, no calls yet. Good thing the employee never bothered to get a signed contract or deposit. read more
