This place is predatory and somewhat cult like. I strongly recommend that you get multiple opinions and be very careful what you sign. Chiropractic care is not supposed to involve mandatory videos with groups (hello HIPPA?) weird billing where you're paying for services you didn't get, unnecessary amounts of x rays, etc. I literally just went in to see if I needed an adjustment after running into them at a wellness fair. The next thing I knew, they had me set up for all of the adjustments my insurance would allow for the year, along with extra "classes" and self promoting videos in which this doctor is presented as some weird guru or something. It was a classic con - they tried to make me believe that I was going to become disabled if I didn't immediately join their little cult. I remember being really confused, because I'm active and practice yoga and hike and bike and actually have a really flexible spine. I knew that this is not normal, I also knew that in case I got in some kind of accident or something, it would be really bad for me to have used my chiropractic coverage up on that. It's insanely predatory to behave in this way. I canceled my remaining sessions and never went back. Like others here - I STILL GOT BILLED. It's a mystery how this place is still in operation. Since then, I did actually experience a minor accident. I have unfortunately also moved out of El Paso. I went to a recommended chiropractor from across all fields, in my new home, and found out what I already innately knew... aside from my recent injury and a minor misalignment elsewhere, my spine is very healthy. It made me remember this place and recall that I never did speak up. Please, don't go there. read more

I highly recommend Dr O!! I had taken my kids previously to be adjusted with him and he was so gentle and kind to gain their trust and bring comfort to their experience. Then recently after having my son I was having lower back pains. I scheduled an appointment for me and Dr O created a three month plan to help with my spine alignment along with the nerve interference and cramps I was having. He was diligent to explain the benefits of each part of my program plan. Answering all my questions and being attentive in my weekly updates of progress. I've had a bad back for years. No doubt the result of a lifetime of former employers climbing onto it, and former girlfriends putting monkeys on it! I've been seeing chiropractors for about five years now, and Dr.O and his staff offer the best overall experience I've had. They maintain a very welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Beatriz and the other receptionists are always very friendly and personable; Sarah has to be one of the most consistently cheerful people I know (a rarity for office managers to be sure!); and Dr.O has a super chill and calming demeanor. He's an outstanding listener and receptive to your complaints. Not only does he do an excellent job of putting my bones back in order, but offers lots of advice in exercises and stretches I can do to mitigate my problems. ...perhaps someday I'll try one of them... (kidding Dr O! If you happen to read this, I'm doing the leg lifts as I type!) I was visiting family in El Paso for a week when my back went out. My sister suggested I see Dr. Ontiveros. Honestly, I was a little skeptical, but eventually went. I was blown away by the service. I got one adjustment and was wired up to a device for about 10-15 minutes. I walked out of Desert Sun with ZERO pain, and didn't have any other pain after that. It was amazing. If I lived in El Paso I'd go see Dr. Ontiveros regularly! I'll have to settle for going to see Dr. Ontiveros when I'm in town. As a healthcare provider myself I was very hesitant to see another chiropractor in this area. From the moment I walked in, staff was friendly and courteous. I've been to Desert 3x now and see myself going regularly for my adjustments. I've been using chiropractors for about 3 years now for my lower back. I've seen a variety of different chiropractors over the years due to my frequent moving (Colorado, Texas, Arizona). Every chiropractor is a little different in the types of therapy they utilize. Some are barebones (no pun intended) back pushers, some require X-rays first, and some have unique ways of adjusting the individual. Desert Sun is probably the best chiro I've seen yet. The chiro accommodated my request to avoid initial x-rays (after first determining that he agree there didn't appear to be any major health issues that required it, especially when I told him I regularly saw chirps). He did a variety of adjustments (me on my stomach for my back, me on my side, and me on my back for neck adjustment). The way a chiro manually checks each vertebra with delicate but precise fingers is often a good indicator of the quality of the chiro. With a very smooth running operation, a variety of chairs available, Desert Sun chiropractic really takes excellent care of their patients. Its fairly easy to schedule an appointment at last the minute as well. With quality comes higher prices but Desert Sun offers a discount if you pay up front and a military discount. read more
