Bestemors has a variety of unique Scandinavian and German gifts for adults and children. The many chocolates really caught my eye. The children's toys were adorable. The customer service was very patient with me. I couldn't make up my mind which stein to purchase. All the steins were beautiful! The beautiful stein I purchased was from King Werk Stein Company. The Stein has numerous musicians performing with their cellos, tubas and accordions. Definitely plan to revisit Bestemors on my next trip to Connecticut. They said we'll get you a Band new one in the box But unfortunately the person they had go get it got the wrong one. We were on our way back home for our 46th Anniversary celebration. And I was looking forward to using my new cane. ( it's a 3 hr drive, one way from my house to this shop ) so needless to say was very disappointed when I opened the box to see the wrong cane. I called the next day (Sunday) spoke to the manager and they remembered us And was very sorry for the inconvenience. They Promised to send the correct one out USPS and send me the Tracking Number. Then we would send the wrong one back postage paid by them. And said I should receive it by Thursday or Friday latest. Today is Tues Mid afternoon and so far I have not received any correspondence ( Tracking number) as of this time. I hope they are good to their word so I can give them a 5 Star review. When I first walked inside I was under the impression that this is a tiny bookstore, the further I walked the more books I would discover. This isn't a tiny bookstore, it is moderately sized. I loved the variety of books available. There's fiction, history, brand new releases, kids, and specific interests such as birds. In addition to the books, they also have some giftable items. There's wrapping paper and cards here also. They also have comfy chairs and couches so you can get comfy while reading. This is such a beautiful bookstore that I'm glad to support in downtown Mystic.

This store is in the center of the of the cutest town in Connecticut, Mystic. I didn't even know where to look when I walked inside, there were so many beautiful, unique peices. The cutting boards, and other kitchen tools are so tastefully made that I would keep them as decor. They have beautiful sterling silver jewelry, from earrings to bangles. There's some stunning pottery, as well as hand blown glassware. As expected most of the items are a bit pricey, but not outrageous. Their packaging is gift ready! I found some great new crystals to add to my collection, as well as some super pretty new bracelets as well. They have a really nice, full range of options, I love my new rose quartz and fluorite that I filled a small pouch with. Definitely a great selection, the girl working here was also super helpful.
