My review is for the Palm Springs location. My experience with this location was not great. The office staff are ok but not overly friendly. I was happy with the rest of my visit and NP Kelly Stormes . When I had questions about my care a month later, the doctor's assistant I talked to was short with me and not patient. Basically cutting me off and repeating the same rhetoric. Didn't seem to care about my concerns. My experience with the office staff when I called to change my appointment, she was rude and acted bothered to help me. I normally go to the Palm Desert location and am very happy with the great experience there! Highly recommend the Palm Desert office. read more

Couldn't say never met the cardiologist he doesn't want to see you send his assistant to deal with your issues. Need a test they don't allow you to do the test you like trying to force you to do what they want. Never pick up their phone when you call ONLY an answering machine. Waist of my precious time. **A Team of Healthcare Superstars - With a Side of Humor and Heart** Since my last review, I've had a lot more interaction with this office--and let me tell you, these women *run* the place like a well-oiled (and caffeinated) machine. Special shoutout to AXA, the *scheduling wizard* of the office. Not only did she get my Angiogram approved in advance, but she also handled pre-approval for my potential *three* stents. That's right--three. This is the first time I've ever had something medically important handled *before* the last minute, and in the world of congestive heart failure, that kind of planning is golden. She's a rockstar. Also major kudos to Jennifer, who is always kind, polite, and genuinely helpful. And to Natalie, my unofficial office BFF, who never misses a chance to say hi and make me feel welcome. Every single woman in this office is doing an incredible job. If they're not being paid enough, they should be. And if you walk in frustrated (because--let's be honest--the U.S. healthcare system can be a disaster), try aiming that frustration *away* from them. VERY rude reception staff. I could not believe how nasty she was to people checking in until I experienced it myself. When my dr's office called a few days later to find out results they were told " Dr out for 3 weeks and no one else can read the results ". Wow. Having been a healthcare administrator for 35 years, I'd have fired the receptionist on the spot and would never have allowed one of our physicians to leave unannounced without coverage. I was scheduled fir a colonoscopy on the 11th . They were supposed to call me on the 5th , letting me know what heart meds to stop pre colonoscopy. They didn't, so I called the 6th and they told me they'd call me by 5 pm that day .NO CALL . I tried calling the office on the 9th , was told nurse was at a different office, and they COULD NOT tell me which meds to stop . The second location told me the same thing, she was at a 3rd location. I called there and asked if anyone could give me info, but they said I would have to leave a message for the nurse . Still, NO RESPONSE . Now it looks like I have to cancel, I looked up my meds and Plavix needs to be stopped 3 to 5 days prior , depending on your health and heart condition. Mine are not good. I bought all the pre day meal stuff , have the prep kit , and am now waiting for a call from my primary care doctor, to see if it would be safe for me to go ahead with the colonoscopy. I will have to cancel , and the place says you have to cancel 72 hours previous to appointment. That subjects me to a $ 75 fee , which I WILL NOT PAY , and dispute. Desert Heart Physicians doesn't care about their patients, Dr.s Toa and Porizza need new staff who ate not rude and care more about helping their patients. read more

My appointment was set for 11:30. and confirmed by them calling me the day before it was 11:30. When got there at 11:00 they told me my appt was at 10:15 luckily they seen anyway. My real complaint is the 3 times I have been there they have political news stations playing in their waiting room. No political news station of any kind should be playing in any type of waiting room. I'm not sure if I'll be going back. read more

I have been sent to Desert Heart Physicians twice for testing that indicated the need for an angiogram in both cases. Both angiograms resulted in the placement of stents in coronary arteries, one the first time on the right and two on the left the second time. In both cases, I was given conflicting information while recovering from the procedure. When I asked questions about these issues all I got was a rude attitude and no information from a physicians assistant and doctors who were not part of the procedure. Three weeks after the second procedure my blood pressure dropped to a dangerous level and the immediate care facility I went to sent me by ambulance to Desert Hospital at Dr. Narasimha Rao, MD's request. Once again tests were run and no explanation was given as to the outcome of those tests. An appointment I had at Desert Heart Physicians was canceled and I was told I would have to see another heart physician outside DHP to get my results and explanations. If you care about a post-procedure review, information about what was found, and what was done to you Do Not Go Here. You will only be treated rudely for having the audacity to ask questions. read more

I felt the doctor was in hurry get me out of his office every visit. I had high blood pressure readings all three time and ekgs. The doctor proscribed me propranolol right away without telling why so I had to look up info on it. The last he finally tells me for anxiety and blood pressure. Ok well why wasn't I told this upfront someone with anxiety already worries about things all time I don't why was prescribing these at first. The dr never went over any ekg readings at all in any vist. I had negative T waves from emergency room visit they told to have the doctor read it. He never explained anything to me and blew it off. Dr Pourzia didnt give flying F about my concerns. He was nice but I felt ignored because I wouldn't take his meds with explanation the first time. He ran all tests on me they all came back normal apparently. I asked him for another stress test he says no reason but my primary wanted it. Dr Pourzia basically didn't want work with me and told to get a second opinion. What clown show. read more

Received call confirming appointment for 1:15, told to arrive 15 minutes early, go to receptionist to check in 25 minutes early and was told my appointment is at 1:30 and I need to go wait outside in the hallway. Apparently waiting in the waiting room isn't an option. Hopefully I will upgrade this to a better review after I see the doctor. read more

Dr. Nasima Rao has performed 5 angioplasties for me over the last 19 years, and recovery time was excellent after all procedures. Dr. Rao always takes time to explain procedures, answer questions, and provides support when medication changes are needed. Also, his PA, Gregory Scott, has probably the best bedside manner in the business! Mr. Scott always has time to explain medications, potential side effects and why a particular medication is being prescribed. I have seen Mr. Scott many time in the office, and he has never been in a rush, never in a hurry, and always has time. When dealing with a scary medical condition, like cardiovascular disease, he is very reassuring to talk with. Office staff is prompt, efficient and always courteous. 5 stars all around! read more

Go anywhere else but here. After making an appointment a month in advance to wear a holter monitor, they canceled it on me without telling me because their holter monitors were old and not working. I showed up to my appointment not knowing it was canceled. I work as an RN and have children. Making the appointment was difficult as it was. They scheduled me a month out again. Again, I had to make sure to get time off of work, which was difficult. I wore the holter monitor for 48 hours. It was extremely uncomfortable, I couldn't shower, had difficulty fitting it under my scrubs at work, etc. Removing it was painful, my skin is still red. I just got a call and was told it only recorded for 5 minutes. NEVER go here for holter monitors. The staff is incompetent and monitors faulty. read more

Scheduled an appointment mid December was given an appointment for early January. I've had them reschedule it a total of 4-5 times sometimes on the day of even hours prior. Today was rescheduled this morning for a later afternoon time and then they cancelled 30 min prior to appointment time and are now booked until February. Don't waste your time with these people. Maybe you'll get to see one of the doctors when you end up in the ER. read more

I am a critical care and cardiovascular nurse, being on the receiving end of healthcare is scary and the more knowledge you have almost makes it worse. My family member had a cardiac emergency and our interventional cardiologist was Dr. Michael Bagheri of DHP. My family member's medical history is extensive and she is high risk, Dr. Bagheri was phenomenal in explaining every detail to us, even the risks she faced. He treated her like a person, not just a patient, I am very appreciative of his sincere caring bedside manner, and impressed by his medical and cardiology skill. I would highly recommend Dr. Bagheri to any high risk cardiac patient and am very fortunate to have him as my family member's cardiologist. Thank you so much Dr. Bagheri for helping us through this difficult and anxious time. read more

The doctors are great but their staff is questionable. Upon arrival they were training a young man for the front desk. When they called me to the room the person who took my blood pressure did it twice because I moved. Stated that talking or moving will throw it off. Never heard that before and I'm not a doctor or nurse so, I can't comment other than that. Then he stated that he was going to do an EKG.. Ok..no problem until the person he, yes HE, called in to assist was the guy they were training came in. Ok...then...I was told to "Take off your shirt" and I stated, "What ? Where is a cover". and he told me they don't have them and I just need to take off my shirt down to my bra. Well...2 men in the room watching me take off my shirt was not something I was VERY uncomfortable with. Stupid of me not to ask for a FEMALE in the room. I regret that still and having a hard time not getting over that. So...If you want to feel like a stripper in front of 2 men...I would suggest you ask for a female to be in the room. read more
