So I walked in on a Thursday before Easter weekend at noonish, they said they were booked but would take my name in case someone cancelled. They are very friendly and accommodating, the place is very nice and they do have awesome frames. I am happy to report that I have 20/20 and that simple eye drops were all I needed (I read too much and sometimes this can make your eyes tired). I remember being taken aback at how through the exam was overall. I passed all the tests without an issue, and was told I had 20/20 vision. Most optometrists would have left it at that and sent me on my way. But Michael had a gut feeling that all wasn't as it should be. He requested we run a few more tests just to be sure... and it turns out his gut instinct was spot on, and I had a partially detached retina. This could have caused blindness within a matter of weeks as it was so unusually placed. Its placement also meant it wouldn't have been picked up by the standard examination lot's of other optometrists provide. He then was able to procure a meeting with me on the SAME day with a specialist across town, who then booked a operation the following day. All I can say is that due to Michaels intuition and impeccable examination process we avoided me losing my sight in one eye, which would have been pretty terrible! So yes, 100% recommended!!

Newlook had a spot for me the following morning, so I was pretty happy. The optometrist was very nice and helpful. She asked for a follow-up meeting (no extra fee) a week later, and the store staff said they would call me to confirm the time. A week later, they still hadn't called me back, so I called them myself to confirm the rendez-vous. In sum, the service was nice and professional, but I think because the staff that's working the store was also responsible for the optometrist counter, they were a bit distracted/short staffed.

I have always had very thorough exams here, regardless of the student in charge. Of course, they always check with their supervising doctor before prescribing your lenses or glasses. While that is reassuring and quite normal, it can lengthen the consultation time a bit. Their waiting times can be downright astounding, as per usual make sure to call a month in advance for anything. A little cold calling doesn't hurt tough and I have scored an appointment for the very same day (once). Their telephone consumer service is pretty hit-or-miss tough, fingers crossed!
