Exhibition 2 The history of Derry from Stone Age about 10,000 years ago to date including a documentary film. Exhibition 3 An Armada shipwreck with cannon and weapons recovered from the wreckage. It's a few hours to do the exhibitions seriously and the staff, like all the citizens of this scarred city of survivors are so damn friendly and genuinely warm. Of course I recommend it like I recommend staying in this city for at least 3 nights.

My friend suggested this museum and the accompanying walking tour of the Bogside which was lead by a local Derry man who had lost an uncle to the Troubles. Between us we had 5 children, ages 8-17. The younger children didn't get as much out of the experience but the teens, ages 15 and 17, as well as the five adults were completely riveted by both the museum displays/artifacts and the content and passionate yet objective delivery of the guide on the walking tour. He welcomed questions. He was very patient and informative. Highly recommend. Very reasonable price. Tip the tour guide. Nice little gift shop too and a small snack shop just outside the museum.

I didn't know what to expect or have any expectations, so as we walked along I found the murals very impressive and depicted Derry's history very well. It's hard to imagine that the conflict, violence, poverty, starvation, and political/religious division occurred such a short time ago. It certainly felt like things were on the up and up now but we heard that the unemployment levels continue to big a huge hurdle for Derry. You can tell that the residents of Derry really care about their town and have a personal attachment to the impact of recent events. I was certainly influenced to learn more about Derry, its history and their people and would encourage anyone else to do the same before visiting. One of the most popular murals doesn't necessarily have a direct tie to the political history of Derry, but is a representation of Derry's growing popularity due to pop culture, and that's the Derry Girls mural. The artists really do a good job and this one felt new and vibrant (and obviously super cute).

We were offer a taxi tour at first but the when we gave our ISANGO voucher in we were told that because we didn't book direct we couldn't take the taxi without paying again, I have now emailed both City Sightseeing and ISANGo over a dozen times for a refund and still haven't got one! Shame on you City Sightseeing and also ISANGO!

Grianan of Aileach was a short stop on our tour of Ireland. The views were spectacular. After a short and easy walk, you arrive at a stone aged monument- probably a burial mound. The day was wet and the rocks slippery so we didn't climb it. Every stop we've made has been more beautiful than the other. This was a nice stop on a beautiful trip.
